Foreign language programs

If your library has access to it, I find Mango more useful than Duolingo. I've used both to work on my Japanese, and my daughter, who spent a summer living there and is majoring in the language now, has a better opinion of the usage in Mango. Duolingo tends to be more informal, which might not come into play as much in French as in Japanese, while Mango teaches the "polite" forms that would be expected in casual encounters.
Thank you for this, my library does have access to it. I'm planning on using a few different ones along the way. I'm honestly surprised at how much I remember.

I used duolingo when we went to Italy & Greece earlier this year. I also downloaded Google Translate. It was great. You can use your camera to translate signs into English, and I could speak into it in English and it would translate for me in Greek. It would also do it the other way. Didn't use it often, but sometimes.
Also, downloaded a map of Venice and used that when navigating around. It worked great.

Side note... I also downloaded podcasts about the places we were visiting, and that, along with some You Tube videos, helped me plan our trip.
