Just wondering if you are allowed to eat on the buses, boats, monorail, etc. ? Like if we grab some portable breakfast from the food court and want to eat on the way to the park? TIA

No, it is not allowed on buses. Don't know about monorails & boats.

Adding to the above response... please don't eat or drink on the buses (or monorails or boats). There's signage prohibiting it, and the drivers/operators are responsible for the mess left behind by passengers. You may think you won't drop or spill anything, but there's always the stray crumb or bit of food that you can't reach, or the cup or bottle that's not completely sealed or that spills when the bus turns or brakes because some silly tourist in the far left lane "needs" to exit on the right with only 25 feet to spare...

You can take food on the bus - just don't eat it.

I went to Earl of Sandwich for take out. Went on the bus back to my resort - the driver wanted to know if I was going to share with him.

So if you want to take food with you on the bus and eat it at your destination there would be no problem. Just don't eat it on the bus.

not to mention most morning buses are full. I mean packed like sardines full with people standing. Not conducive or appetizing to have someone standing in front of your face

Okay, thanks for the responses. I guess we'll grab something and eat while standing in line waiting for the park to open... Otherwise we're gonna be waking the kids up at 5:30AM if we try to fit it in before leaving the hotel. and still allow 1.5 hours for transportation before a 8AM EMH opening. :confused3

You don't need to allow 1.5 hours for transportation to the park. If you are at the bus stop at 7:00, you will have plenty of time.

We always wake up around 7:15, have a little bit of cereal in the room, get dressed, and head out to the bus stop at 8:00 for a 9:00 opening. We're always at the park by 8:30.

1.5 hrs for transportation? Why? If the park opens at 8am, for EMHs, you need to be out at the bus stop by 7:15ish..that will get you to the park well before the park opens.
I always keep something to eat for a quick breakfast in the room. Baggies of cereal, poptarts, bagels..that sort of thing, depending on who's eating.

I have seen the signs saying this when on the Buses, however I have not seen any signs on the Monorail or the Boat along with any announcements on either one saying food is not allowed.

If you are allowing 1.5 hours for getting to the park by 8 a.m the buses will not be running at 6:30.

Check this out

Disney Buses on average run every 20 minutes from all WDW onsite resorts. Resort guest bus stops feature signs with the destinations that are available and the bus marquees will indicate the buses' main destinations. Listed below you will find some of the general information regarding bus transportation from WDW hotels (including Swan and Dolphin). Character Breakfast buses start running at 7:00am, and run approx every 15 minutes. They have the flexibility to allow direct transportation to the theme parks, and area resorts.

If you are allowing 1.5 hours for getting to the park by 8 a.m doubt that the buses will be running at 6:30.

The buses are generally running at 6:30 especially the MK buses. Some of the Character Breakfasts start pretty early.
But as another poster indicated, you do not need 1.5 hours to get from your resort to the parks.
If you want to get to a park at 8:00, be at the bus stop between 7:00 and 7:15, you get to any park in plenty of time for the rope drop.

Thanks so much for the timing info! Someone who was there recently told me that it took them 1-1.5 hours to get from their hotel to the parks. But they are not the earliest risers and I think they also went during a peak time so that prolly makes a difference. Unfortunately we arriving from Canada and are very limited in what we can take across the border, so short of surviving on granola bars we are going to have to use restaurants.

If your staying at a deluxe or moderate you will have a mini fridge in your room. What we sometimes did was go to the food court or the grab n go and get a few cereals, some milk and fruit so we could do breakfast in the room. You could also alternate and have one adult fetch the breakfast & coffee while everyone else is getting up & dressed etc.

Another option is a grocery delivery service, we use wegoshop and have had terrific service. Ordered water, juice, snacks and breakfast foods for the room and it was well worth the delivery fee IMHO.

ITA with the PP's we just returned from a stay and although some of the mid day trips and the DTD buses were slow at opening and closing the buses were frequent.

Did you share with him so I guess if your hungry and can't wait just get enough for the driver. Well get your food and get them a Mickey ice bar they will leave you alone after that.

They'll also let you on the bus with a bottled beverage with a cap, a capped water bottle or a resort mug with a top, but not with a drink cup with the plastic top or no top.

Brilliant ideas, thank you thank you thank you! :flower3: We are at a moderate (POFQ) so we will have a fridge.

All park buses start running by 6:30am, some even by 6:15!! Those buses are for those who need to get to the parks for early morning tours or ADRs.

Drivers drive the bus, custodial is not in their job description.

Your right but Disney bus drivers must have pride in their job because I never ever been on a bus in that was dirty. They all look brand new keep up the great work.
