Can you tell me where that menu board is from? DGD just saw it and thinks she HAS to have that cotton candy flavor burst! :rotfl2: TIA

It's an old menu board from KRNR near Rockin Roller Coaster.

Sadly the flavor burst isn't there anymore.

The only caveat to the $4 and under is that it must be a single serving. So if it says "fun to share" then it's not a snack credit.

Snack credit items almost always have a little purple and white symbol by them (their price) Like on the menu board below:

awesome! thank you! that's a big help! I've never paid that much attention to the menus in the past!

HI, great thread, I havent read through all of it but I have a couple questions that may have been answered already so I'm sorry if they have been.

I received a pin for room only at disney. If I use this pin for a discount off a resort, can I add the dining plan later on for the price per night $32-$47 whatever plan I choose?

my understanding is that I can only purchase a dining plan if I buy my park tickets at the same time?

also, are there tables and areas you can sit at and eat if you only do the quick service plan? And the refillable mug, can this be filled with water? I don't drink soda at all or coffee.

thanks so much for the help! I'm planning my first trip to disney and I think we are going in december. hopefully they'll offer free dining but til then I'm keeping my options open to buying the dining and using my pin now to get a discount off my room at a value resort.

We have a 7 day trip planned with the DxDP giving us 21 meal credits per person (2 adults and 2 children). We plan on doing 2 meals each day, taking advantage of signature restaurants for 5 of our 7 dinners, so we have a total of 19 credits each accounted for (leaving us with 8 unused credits total). Since we know this plan is a lot of food, we were planning to split lunches on four of the afternoons at our pool or some other CS location. We will be able to order 2 lunches off the adult menu each day to share amongst our family? I wasn't sure if or how the credits were separated for DxDP.

Thanks in advance!

First off, you're referencing the number of days you're there, and the dining plan is actually based on the number of nights...are you there 7 nights? If you're there 7 days/6 nights then you won't have 21 credits per person.

As for your question, not sure you'll be able to do that unless you have adult credits still available on your cards...recent reports are that the Dx receipts DO break the credits down as per how many adult credits are left, how many child credits. So would think this info would also show up if you tried to purchase adult meals with child credits (which you're not supposed to do anyway if child meals are available at that counter service.) Course, if there's no specific child meals available, then you can use child credits to order adult meals but my recollection is most of the places with no kid's menu are very limited choice places anyway. Several are hot dog places, one is fish & chips as the only menu item.

Hi, I'm not the expert but I have finally read all 22 pages of this so I think I can answer some of your questions.

First, I would call to book a room now to see if you can get availability with your 40% off room rate pin at your location and dates of choice. That pin has been out for over a month and I would guess that not all resorts have rooms of all categories available using the pin.

Secondly, you can only order a dining plan as part of a package, but a room only reservation could be converted to a package. Or you could do what we did and book a package of room (using that 40% off pin) and park tickets. From what I've read here you may add a dining plan to that reservation up to 72 hours before check-in day at WDW.

Most QS locations have some type of seating available but it is not always indoors - this can get a little uncomfortable during extremely hot, cold or very wet days. The food courts at the resorts that I am familiar with all have indoor seating as do many of the QS places throughout the parks.

Even if you are not on a dining plan you can get a cup of free cold water from the fountain of any QS dining spot. I've never had the mug, but, like you, I drink no coffee and only occasional soda. I drink water with most of my meals.

I thought you could just get the dining. We are DVC members and I just booked a room at YC CL and planned to do the dining-they quoted me a price and said I pay on arrival

I know you can only do it if every person in the room gets it

Am I incorrect with any of this?

You are correct. DVC members can purchase the dining plan without purchasing park tickets. Same for AP holders.

I have a few questions about the deluxe dining plan.

I know the DxDP allows for table service breakfast, lunch and dinner plus 2 snacks per night of stay and that you have a total number of credits for length of stay. I also know that you can combine some credits for Signature dining. Are lunch and dinner credits able to be combined together to be used for dinner reservations since most of the Signature restaurants are only open for dinner?

Can breakfast credits be used for any meal other than breakfast?

What exactly can count as an appetizer? Many of the restaurants have soups, salads & appetizers listed. Can you order a soup or salad as your appetizer if they are listed separately from appetizers?

DxDDP credits are not categorized into breakfast, lunch and dinner credits. They are simply meal credits. You can mix them up and use them as you wish, so for example. The credits are all in a pool and can be used in any order and in any combination during the course of your stay.

Hi

Not sure if this question was asked yet, but

We will be on the Regular DDP and was wondering what drinks are included with the CS meals?
Can you get a bottle of water, or vitamin water?
Do you have to order soda?

Please forgive my ignorance, but I am confused.

It will by myself, my DS 11, and my DD 8 traveling with another family of 2 adults, 2 children. We have all of our dining reservations booked together as a party of seven. We have the DDP, they have the DxDDP if that matters.

Will we have to ask for two seperate checks each meal?
Can I have my 11yr old DS order from the childrens menu and save his Adult TS credits?
If he can order off the childrens menu, can I pay OOP and will that entail asking for yet another check? Totalling 3? Won't the server be mad?
How is tipping handled? Will we be each charged 18% on our portion due to the party size? Can that be put on our KTTW cards?

Sorry for all the questions!

"Will we have to ask for two seperate checks each meal?"

Yes, you can get separate checks.

"Can I have my 11yr old DS order from the childrens menu and save his Adult TS credits?"

Yes, that works (as long as it's not a buffet or character meal), but unless your son has a very small appetite, he won't find the kids meals filling. Research the menu prices before you go so you can see which places this is worthwhile. Many TS kid's meals are $7.59 (if I remember right), but some are quite a bit higher (mainly buffets and character meals). It certainly is a great way to get more meals, if he's satisfied with kid's meals.

"If he can order off the childrens menu, can I pay OOP and will that entail asking for yet another check? Totalling 3? Won't the server be mad?"

Yes. You can pay OOP and that's a third check. The CMs are usually awesome and will not mind at all.

"How is tipping handled? Will we be each charged 18% on our portion due to the party size?"

Yes. The tip will be automatic with your party size. You can always add more (or talk to a manager if the tip isn't merited).

"Can that be put on our KTTW cards?"

Yes, you can put the tip and OOP on your KTTW. That's what we always do. Just tell the CM what you want to do either when they take the order or when they bring the check and they'll take care of it.

Hi! I've been browsing this board for over a decade. I think it used to be called Pete Werner ... way back when. Just a brief intro so everyone knows I've done some homework and am not really a newbie, just a lurker.

Okay, now for an explanation of my present situation and questions.
I tried the dining plan briefly on my last visit and became hooked. So this time, my sister and I wanted to use it for the entire trip. I thought I was doing everything right, but now I am frustrated and confused. I booked a room with a 30% off pin back in February for this coming October (not a pkg). I also booked dining reservations at the 190 day mark. I had to link it to my reservation in order to do the prior to 180 day reservation. I read several posts where people recommended getting rooms and then adding specials or changing specials as they came along. We were hoping free dining would come along but figured the 30% off would be okay. Well, the free dining is only available at the end of our trip. So 30% it is.

Now I've read in this thread that I cannot add dining and tix to my room only reservation!! That if I do I will loose my 30% off. :scared1: Is this true? Please someone tell my you have changed your room only reservations to a pkg after the fact and kept your discounted room rate.

Also, someone posted that they were told they would loose their dining reservations if they altered their hotel reservations (remember mine is linked because of the 190 day mark). :headache: Is this true, if I changed my room only reservation to a pkg I would loose my dining reservations?! Can someone tell me what their experience has been with this.

At this point, I don't know what to do. I was simply going to upgrade my present room only reservation to add dining but it doesn't sound possible without loosing my discount and dining reservations. That just doesn't make any sense to me!! Any specific experiences that would pertain to my situation would be appreciated!

you can add dining to your hotel within so many days before your vacation.

What you are probably reading is you can not stack discounts.
So for you-- you can not have a 30% discount and free dining.

Here's the posts I'm referring to

TDC Nala wrote in response to someone who had booked a bounceback rate
"If your discount offer is applicable to a package, then you're fine if you just want to add the dining plan. If you have a room only reservation and your discount is not applicable to a package, you'll have to give the discount up when you convert to a package to add dining. If you don't already have a package, you'll need to ask when you call if the discount you have would also be applicable to a package."
another poster posted
"When I called WDW DINE today a cast member informed me that none of the reservations I have would hold should I add the DP onto my reservation now! They would have to be re-booked subject to availability, per a new Disney policy!"

Anyone with specific experience with changing from room only reservations with discount to pkg and maintaining the room discount? (not stacking discounts) I was under the impression people did this all the time.

Anyone able to keep their dining reservations when they changed from room only reservations (when dining linked to reservation) to pkg?

I just booked a trip this morning and when I saw my confirmation email it did not include the free refillable mug like last year. Have they dropped that? (not that I care that much):goodvibes

Also the wording says that if the package is paid in full the price is guaranteed. Has anyone ever had the price increased for not having it paid in full? I can do so, if need be.

Thank you all for your help.

homeschoolmomof4, thank you so much for your reply. It is not listed on my confirmation and when I checked the QSDP thread here it did not show it there either so I was thinking they may have dropped it. A penny here, a penny there, just as long as it is not something I want. ;)
