Went camping over the weekend, Friday is my usual packing of the motorhome day, I got home about noon and started to load last minute things. I seen two Dr. Pepper cans setting in the entry and asked the boys to put them in the frig, they told me they were old (exp.date 07 :scared1:) so I open the door to the garage and tossed them in the garbage, one missed landed on the cement and exploded sending Dr. Pepper everywhere :( uggh...fast forward to camp site, hooking things up, slide out (check) hook up water (check) turn on water...plug in electric (check) open bins, talk to kids....go to let dogs out of motorhome, met with a waterfall on my steps ....NO!!! faucet left on and turn toward counter :rolleyes1.....FLOOD!!!!!!! for the life of me I have no ideal why those dang dogs didn't yell WATER!!!:confused3 ...Saturday rolls around and I'm doing good but decide to have a Popsicle, BAD ideal ...I go to pull one off, the other (red) one isn't frozen completely yet ...shall I continue? yes my face, shirt, arms are covered in red popsicle juice... oh what a time explaining that to DH..haha...Sunday came and I'll just say there was a cop and McDonalds involved :confused3. We Get home (2 hr. drive) my boys decide to go see a movie, I let them take my Jeep (my new shiny I love it Jeep) while backing out DS19 hits the golf cart :rotfl2: I now have a nice black pin strip and gouge on the back fender :rotfl: I have never been so thankful for Monday morning:rolleyes:

Yep! Had one of those. I posted it on another thread somewhere. I'm just gonna have to find it and cut and paste here!

Edit/ADD: Found it! You know you're a true camper/Fort Fiend when... you're traveling pregnant with a 1 yr old and DS1 screams nonstop for the first 200 miles for no apparent reason. When the screaming stops, DH says "Look in your mirror and see if everything is OK." I look in the mirror and yell "There's fire coming out of the back!" DH pulls over to find that the bike rack had come loose and we had been dragging the bikes down the interstate for an undetermined length of time causing huge sparks (the bikes were not useable that trip). Mild mannered Clark Kent type DH threw a Donald Duck fit right there on the side of the road, kicking gravel, throwing the bike rack, the whole works. As we come into downtown Orlando, in the center lane of course, I look back to check on DS1. I see that he has something all over his face, hands, hair. I ask DH "Did you give him chocolate at the last stop?" Then the aroma suddenly answered that question. There was no way to pull over so we had to press on. With windows down and our gag reflexes being challenged to the extreme, we made it to the Fort where we were given a site that was too small for our TT. We did finally get DS clean, threw his onesie away, and got a site large enough for the TT. Turned out to be one of our greatest trips and gave us memories we can never forget!... (No matter how hard we've tried!)

I just noticed my first sentence...I was not pregnant w/a one year old :scared1:...I was pregnant and traveling with a one year old. :rotfl: Seriously, we were glad all of our mishaps happened EARLY in the trip.

Yuppers,,I just had a whole week of that,,you have no idea how disappointing it is to only catch 1/2 the fish you wanted to catch.

:lmao:

You only caught 1/2 the fish you wanted to catch, too !?!?! Aint that just terrible !

Had one of these this past weekend. See pictures and captions below:

Oh and not to mention the sewer connection was higher than my valve on our PUP, that was FUN!

We still managed to have a good time and enjoyed the park (Rainbow Springs). Thank goodness we had the beautiful river to swim in to cool off.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: OH MY! Never seen a "Closed by order of the Health Department" sign on a pool before! Haven't they heard of Chlorine? I'm gonna remember Rainbow Springs. Gee Whiz!

Forgot to mention my son (5) caught 10 bluegill

REALLY ! Now thats just plain AWESOME !! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
I gotta say, I really like catch'n swimmers,,but I REALLY enjoy it when the kids out fish me,,:woohoo: Sounds like that little man has a fishing future ahead of him.

kampfirekim that is so funny!!!!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Not brown floaters! Say it ain't so, Joe! :lmao: Now we've had our share of troubles w/the brown stuff as you've probably already read in my previous post, but good grief! I think I agree with the two cuties in the pool pic....Thumbsdown! What is so amazing is that you had to brave a walk behind the ranger station for a hot shower, handle a swarm of what looks like horseflies and then the pool debaucle....and a good time was STILL had! Kudos to you and yours! You are true campers! :rotfl: BTW, I had no idea that the Health Dept came out for floaters! WOW! I think I'll bring my own test kit before swimming in another public pool! With the exception of Disney, of course. ;) KFK's done got skeeeered! :scared1:

EDIT/ADD: I JUST REREAD THIS THREAD AND REALIZED I GOT MY CAMPERS CONFUSED.......JUST REALIZED IT WASN'T YOU WHO HAD TO BRAVE THE BROWN FLOATERS, IT WAS ANOLEFAN! SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION. I'M SURE THIS POST MADE NO SENSE AT ALL! :rotfl:

I failed to mention we may not be visiting many state parks in the near future :rotfl:

I think we will stay in the comfy surroundings of The Fort where we KNOW what we are getting.

Man and that is after the campground was closed for over a year for rehab and rebuild. Are all the campsites down by the river gone now....thats what I heard. I used to really love that campground but have not been back since it reopened.

Glad they got it open early. When it first closed the Florida State Parks website said it would not reopen until 2050

Wise decision Honorable Grasshopper! Very wise indeed! :lmao: If I can't smell the chlorine before entering the pool gates and the chlorine isn't strong enough to sting a little...I ain't gettin' in! :rotfl:
