Europe Repositioning - two different airfares

I heard John mention, that if you went on one of the European repositioning cruises that you would have to book two different one way airfare tickets. Actually, you would might be better off booking round trip to and from the originating city, then using one of the low fare European air carriers (like easy jet or sterling) to go back to the originating city.

I used Sterling a lot this past summer and they had some good prices especially if you book early.
 
This is a good idea, just remember that the luggage allowance is limited on flights within Europe.
 
Robin -- At what point do you think fares that far out would even be available? I haven't researched overseas fares at all and don't know whether you're better off booking far in advance, or last minute. Also, I've heard people mention "flight consolidators" but don't really know how to go about finding one. :confused:
