Double Dipping w/a Marine and a Mouse... (Update 9/123 pg25-Flying Home!)

Ive got nothing planned whats an OCVP to do?

9-25 Thursday
430am came way too early. I got up took a shower and got ready, got E up he did the same. It took a bit to wake the boys up but once we did... and mentioned we were leaving on vacation... they were up quickly getting dressed didnt even fight me about putting the tshirts on that I made (if my computer and printer didnt break, E and i would have had shirts too.. ok so he probably would have worn it under another shirt so probably good it did break on me LOL.
They say "On our Way to WDW World"... close enough not enough space to write that and were taking a cruise too LOL
Our 45min drive to LAX went well got there in about 35mins. Traffic in LA was finally on my side after yrs of it being against me! We find Airtran and park in the drop off... grab our 3 suitcases, 1 hanging bag, our 4carry-ons and a camera bag. Off we go to drop the bags off. I had already checked us in online when we were at home.
While we were waiting for them to call our flight to board, I figured we all should get some chow as I new the boys would get hungry. We got 3 cinnamon rolls milk and coffee for the flight
Got us all neck pillows from Target in the $1 spot!
E and P start hitting eachother with them.. stop playing!
J has no time for pics.. he has warm cinn rolls to eat!
Ok now he can cheese it up
I had got us seats for the window and middle.
Luckly the aisile was never taken, seems our flight wasnt booked. So we scored with having both rows all to ourselves with room to relax.
5hours later and on a sugar high, we hit Atlanta. We grab all our stuff and jump off the plane... only to learn we are taking that same plane to Orlando.. would have been nice if they shared that before we got off. So we make a potty stop and the boys run to get Burger King and make it back just in time to jump on the plane LITERALLY, I had to hold the gate for them. Then we sat on the tarmak for 30mins.. oh well. We get on and in an hour we are touching down in Orlando.
We love the airport and I make a mental note for next time to try and get a room there LOL. (like that Next time positive thinking, just need to talk E into it!) We get to the baggage claim and the boys help with grabbing our stuff.
P and J grab #1 and 2
E gets the hanging luggage bag.... but where is #4... we keep waiting.. and waiting and then the luggage carosel STOPS.. hold up.. umm hello were not done yet. There going to start it back up right E. Their just saving electricity right? Right.. someone agree with me. We finally come to the conclution.. no 4th bag. Thank goodness it wasnt the F/E & S/M Bag! (E thought otherwise on this though LOL) So off I go to the airtran office and file my claim along with 4 other people. Just as Im done the gal tells me the next flight from ATL is coming in 15mins wanna wait and see if they caught it and put it on the next one. Ok why not. So we wait and wait.. longest 15mins of my life.. and what do I see. YES our 4th bag, we all cheer at this point.
The boys go and grab it.
After our luggage scare we leave baggage claim and head outside to catch a shuttle to our rental car (thrifty) and E deceides to upgrade from a charger to a magnum. Thank goodness he did cuz all our stuff would have never fit in that lil charger.
We drive to Cocoa beach, E even asked for directions after I had told him I got it... (did he not see my Disney Planner?) and find our Hotel Country Inn and Suites just fine right off the 528. E again upgrades us to a suite (alterior motives LOL, as it has a seperate bedroom and 2tvs so we dont have to watch kid shows!) Boys are hungry so we get some 4th meals, Taco Bell, Long John Silvers, and McD's
Get back to the hotel in time to watch the new season of Greys Anatomy.. and check in with the DIS since we have free net. We eventually fall asleep around 1am which is only 10pm cali time
NEXT UP: The Space Center & Introducing our Supporting Cast

HAHA... I think I was more excited then all 3 of them put together, and they just thought I was a big weaping dorkYeah! You're off! I can't wait to see the boys' reaction when they see the ship!

We also kept instilling if you dont do your home/school work you dont get to have fun on the cruise. More work you do now, more time you get to play. After awhile they kept saying it to us. LOL

9-26 Friday
I get up around 830am and jump in the shower, get partially ready (well I was dressed, just no hair or make up done geez, get your minds out the gutter people
LOL) and head downstairs with P.
We rustle up some chow, eggs, bacon, waffles, bagel and cream cheese, and milk juice and lots of coffee (they have a pretty good spread at Country Inn & Suites and Free Net.. highly recommend them and we will be staying here again
), and bring it back to the room.
We all hurry to eat and get ready or in my case finish getting ready.
Then its off to the Kennedy Space Center. Figure its some sort of education for the boys since they were missing so much school.
After getting through security (it was worse there then at the airport) we are sitting in our 1st Imax movie. I get a text from Tonya (googles111)that her son is sick and ask me to watch her older son at the center..

SURE no prob I know the boys would all do well together. And I don't mind having him no need for him to miss out too right.

(ok now to bring you up to speed on how this all came about us cruising with our friends) I was telling T how I booked this cruise for when E came back from Iraq. It was pretty cheap (for a cruise) and told her our plans and before I knew it she had emailed me asking if I would mind them joining us.. Mind??? Are you kidding me that would be great! So she got a quote from Dreams and before I know it. we were planning excursions together, and linking our reservations to have a table at dinner together woohoo!!
Oh also have to mention we have become friends through the Marine Corps. Our hubbys were both Marines (hers is out now and a cop)anyhow they were stationed at the same base and we met through a yahoo group for wives and for almost 7 yrs now we have been best buds. We lived closer before but now they moved back to Fresno, but thanks to the net we still stay close.
ok now where was I.. oh thats right in the Imax theater listening to Tom Hanks tell us about landing on the moon (Which btw whenever I hear Tom Hanks voice I can never take him serious.. all I hear is RUN JENNY RUN... Forest Gump for those of you wondering?
). Braden gets sick on their way here, T asks me to watch Jaren and so I go to meet them out in front and see the whole family walking towards me??? Im confused (doesnt take much I know LOL) Turns out after he threw up he felt much better lol (we think it was just nerves of flying the car ride and overall excitement of the trip). So they got tickets to do thepark, and I went back to my movie LOL.
E & I as astronauts
Us touching part of the moon (ya think it could have been bigger, and there was no way to steal that sucker it was bolted down, guarded, probably easier to get into Fort Knox. (shhh dont tell E I mentioned an ARMY post lol)

By the way if they couldnt touch it, ride on it, or play with it... it wasnt fun. We went through the museums faster than heck, only slowing down to take enough pics to embarrass them. Then it was back outside to play on the shuttles or run around.. KIDS
We would have got out of there sooner but had to get souvenirs, shot glass for me, shirt for E, postcards for my scrapbook I will never do LOL
, scrapbook stuff to just sit in my scrapbook room and never use, J got a plastic shuttle replica, P got a stuffed animal type shuttle, and I got us a shuttle xmas ornament. Oh ya and I had to take a picture with my big rocket (ok NOW put your head in the gutter)
**FYI **-if you do the Space Center you can get the base ticket and its good for 2days, To use within a week and you really do need both days to see it all. As you can take a bus that takes you over to get a closer look at the launch pads well not THAT close but still closer then not going on the bus!!**
After the center we went to Grills in Cocoa Beach,
there we met up with some of our DIS meets folks. Kimberly, mocruisers, Poohbear4me, & Brandi. Tonya and her crew met us there and we had dinner together. (Forgot to take pics there sorry yall) This allowed the boys to reconnect, see we have been friends for a few years.. well since our youngest were 8months . In womb (they are now 6) and we moved away when they were about 2.5-3. So they remember each other but not fully. Well the oldest 2 took no time to start chatting. The younger boys took a bit longer. Im sure by the end of the vacation they will be sad to say good bye (I hope!) We finish up dinner (in my opinion food was OK.. nothing to write home about.. or put in a trip report!) and part ways for the night. With plans to meet up tmrw.. big day tmrw

We head to Publix (which is a really bad name to try and say if your drunk by the way ) and get some odds and ends. Then hit up ABC for NECESSITIES. Rum, Vodka, Rum you get the picture, or and UMBRELLAS (I was told they dont have umbrellas onboard in the drinks yet swords.. go figure that one out and I joked with my Cruise Buddys that I would pick them up, and they thought I was kidding HA

We head back to the hotel, pack up and get everything ready for tmrw. Boys get a shower and we head for bed . After a few hours of just watching TV. I check emails, our DIS meet thread, MySpace etc.. and realize.. Im too excited to sleep! But need to.. I need as much energy for the mouse as I can get!

How great that you got to go with your DFs, that's awesome! Thanks for posting the pics of the space center, I always wonder exactly what they have there, and now because of you, I think we'll have to check it out someday! Looks good!

9-27 Saturday
I of course was too excited to sleep so I woke up around 7am, hopped in the shower as I knew there was stuff that still needed to be done with packing and such. I showered, changed and took off in our Magnum upgrade that E got us. Stoped by Walgreens to get a few snacks for after at the parks (which come to be not needed, more on that later). A hairdryer, cuz I start to 2nd guess myself on what the Magic has (let me tell ya now.. DONT waste your money or packing space on a hairdryer. The one on the boat does the job and plus as soon as you step outside.. all that hard work goes to the .. umm pooper).
When I got back the boys were all ready so we head down to the continental breakfast as I was not bringing food back up. Eat some chow, I believe we all had pancakes since it was so fun to make them in the waffle iron that flips (its the lil things I love LOL) and before long we are ready to roll out.
I get a text from Tonya asking where we are as they are already at the port waiting and bored.Ahh they are already there.. its only 930am. Ok I hurry everyone, we pack up and head out.
We had a very short drive since the hotel is right by the port, but it still was magical seeing this!
Man that Goofy is a hard worker
THIS is where we go wrong. The plan was E drops us and the bags off, returns the car and take the Thrifty shuttle back. WELL he had to still tap off the gas tank so they didnt charge us an arm and a leg for 1/4 tank. Then catch the shuttle. IT TOOK FOREVER... and by forever I mean EVER. Tonya and her crew being as sweet as she is said they would wait, but I kept telling them to go. SO we keep waiting in the heat.
Mike (Tonya DH) gets all our luggage checked. They finally let people in from outsite the gates in around 11am. But we are still waiting on E. After a few text/ calls we see the rental shuttle van with E in as a lone rider. (Next time, we will be going to the shuttle together).
J found time to meditate (dont ask I have no clue)
(While we were waiting we saw tons of DISers from our meets thread as they all had on our logo shirts, but um we didnt know anyone and didnt want to feel like dorks so we didnt say anything LOL (SORRY) I will say Maureen ran to us from the parking lot (she was one of those awesome back to back cruisers and did the 3dayer pre double dip) She goes to tell me that my box I sent is in her room.. WOOHOO it made it.. not to my room but good enough to a DIS'ers thank goodness!)
We head through security check, with Mike and E still worried that we will get busted with our Alcohol that we stocked up on. Apparently they dont believe us when we say we can bring it on ths ship. Once we get through with nothing more then a "Have a great Cruise!" we head up to the terminal.
I have to say it is a beautiful site.
Since neither T nor I could print our contract we head to the lil stand to the left of the escalater and get our contract printed since it didn’t at home after all the computer printer problems. Tonya and I then go check us in, we send the boys off to get the kids signed into the kids club and get pagers and wristbands.
After we check in (NOPE no upgrade to the Walt Suite LOL) we see and meet with Denise (rkandmjsmommy), and Crissi (crissichef) (peeps from our meets thread). A lil chit chat then its off to make sure the guys are ok…. You know since they never listened to a word we said about planning this cruise LOL. We then see Erik (tig82174) and Hadley (NHdisneylover) with a great sign at a table for us to pick up our custome DD lanyards (I will say it again.. GREAT Job team!). We chit chat and come to find out the boys have already got ours… surprise surprise they have done more then what was asked. Scuse me as I take a moment to reflect on that LOL.
We then make our way over to the model ship and get some pics of the kids and us with Mickey.

Love how we both are looking in different directions and we havent even drank.. YET
Then they start announcing the dream family. (no clue who it was… it wasn’t us so I didn’t pay attention too it. Hey I did clap) Since we had to wait for E we had boarding pass 9… which wasn’t bad only about 30mins after they called the 1st family we were then on board.
Thought these were just metal plates then realized they said things, again no drinking yet

I had asked for help on the board before we left, to think of a great way to introduce us especially regarding E coming home... and what ends up happening… I totally forgot about it.. got on and went were the Mac family LOL Boys didn’t even end up hearing it cuz they were lost in their own world looking around. I forgot to put the video camera on so I got the last bit of them clapping for us then calling the people behind us out LOL. OH well NEXT TIME!.
(ok cant figure out how to convert my .mod files from the video camera to something that allows me to post it on photobucket, anyone that can help I got a DOTD with MY name written all over it!)

We make a B line to Rocken D Bar to get Palo ressis. Where Sebastion as nice as can be tells me no brunch
(oh Well NEXT CRUISE, you do begin to see a pattern.. right? ). I get waitlisted but can tell from where my name is on the list.. that aint gonna happen. So we work on dinner. He asks when.. whenever beggers cant be choosers I say.. I then eat my words.. I get Jens (nenner1) handy dandy spreadsheet out. Sebastion tells me he has one tonight.. ummm no that wont do cuz we want to have the 1st dinner with the kids. Ok Monday, umm no we want to do formal night with the kids. He laughs. I say sorry. How about Weds, no thats Pirate night... he tells me no its not, I check my spreadsheet... um ya it is.. he again says NO ITS NOT.. I ask him if he's sure LOL. He then tells me ya cuz we are staying longer in Cozumel so pirate night is Tuesday. OHHHH ok.. Sweet... book it! Palo Wed at 6pm.
Meanwhile poor T.. she was just trying to change her ressi from one night to another and it wasnt saving on the computer. They eventually got it worked out by giving her a call later to her stateroom.

NEXT UP: Point me in the direction of the Buffet (no not Jimmy!)
I of course was too excited to sleep so I woke up around 7am, hopped in the shower as I knew there was stuff that still needed to be done with packing and such. I showered, changed and took off in our Magnum upgrade that E got us. Stoped by Walgreens to get a few snacks for after at the parks (which come to be not needed, more on that later). A hairdryer, cuz I start to 2nd guess myself on what the Magic has (let me tell ya now.. DONT waste your money or packing space on a hairdryer. The one on the boat does the job and plus as soon as you step outside.. all that hard work goes to the .. umm pooper).
When I got back the boys were all ready so we head down to the continental breakfast as I was not bringing food back up. Eat some chow, I believe we all had pancakes since it was so fun to make them in the waffle iron that flips (its the lil things I love LOL) and before long we are ready to roll out.
I get a text from Tonya asking where we are as they are already at the port waiting and bored.Ahh they are already there.. its only 930am. Ok I hurry everyone, we pack up and head out.
We had a very short drive since the hotel is right by the port, but it still was magical seeing this!
Man that Goofy is a hard worker
THIS is where we go wrong. The plan was E drops us and the bags off, returns the car and take the Thrifty shuttle back. WELL he had to still tap off the gas tank so they didnt charge us an arm and a leg for 1/4 tank. Then catch the shuttle. IT TOOK FOREVER... and by forever I mean EVER. Tonya and her crew being as sweet as she is said they would wait, but I kept telling them to go. SO we keep waiting in the heat.
Mike (Tonya DH) gets all our luggage checked. They finally let people in from outsite the gates in around 11am. But we are still waiting on E. After a few text/ calls we see the rental shuttle van with E in as a lone rider. (Next time, we will be going to the shuttle together).
J found time to meditate (dont ask I have no clue)
(While we were waiting we saw tons of DISers from our meets thread as they all had on our logo shirts, but um we didnt know anyone and didnt want to feel like dorks so we didnt say anything LOL (SORRY) I will say Maureen ran to us from the parking lot (she was one of those awesome back to back cruisers and did the 3dayer pre double dip) She goes to tell me that my box I sent is in her room.. WOOHOO it made it.. not to my room but good enough to a DIS'ers thank goodness!)
We head through security check, with Mike and E still worried that we will get busted with our Alcohol that we stocked up on. Apparently they dont believe us when we say we can bring it on ths ship. Once we get through with nothing more then a "Have a great Cruise!" we head up to the terminal.
I have to say it is a beautiful site.
Since neither T nor I could print our contract we head to the lil stand to the left of the escalater and get our contract printed since it didn’t at home after all the computer printer problems. Tonya and I then go check us in, we send the boys off to get the kids signed into the kids club and get pagers and wristbands.
After we check in (NOPE no upgrade to the Walt Suite LOL) we see and meet with Denise (rkandmjsmommy), and Crissi (crissichef) (peeps from our meets thread). A lil chit chat then its off to make sure the guys are ok…. You know since they never listened to a word we said about planning this cruise LOL. We then see Erik (tig82174) and Hadley (NHdisneylover) with a great sign at a table for us to pick up our custome DD lanyards (I will say it again.. GREAT Job team!). We chit chat and come to find out the boys have already got ours… surprise surprise they have done more then what was asked. Scuse me as I take a moment to reflect on that LOL.
We then make our way over to the model ship and get some pics of the kids and us with Mickey.
1st REAL family vacation in years!

Love how we both are looking in different directions and we havent even drank.. YET
Then they start announcing the dream family. (no clue who it was… it wasn’t us so I didn’t pay attention too it. Hey I did clap) Since we had to wait for E we had boarding pass 9… which wasn’t bad only about 30mins after they called the 1st family we were then on board.
Thought these were just metal plates then realized they said things, again no drinking yet

I had asked for help on the board before we left, to think of a great way to introduce us especially regarding E coming home... and what ends up happening… I totally forgot about it.. got on and went were the Mac family LOL Boys didn’t even end up hearing it cuz they were lost in their own world looking around. I forgot to put the video camera on so I got the last bit of them clapping for us then calling the people behind us out LOL. OH well NEXT TIME!.
(ok cant figure out how to convert my .mod files from the video camera to something that allows me to post it on photobucket, anyone that can help I got a DOTD with MY name written all over it!)

We make a B line to Rocken D Bar to get Palo ressis. Where Sebastion as nice as can be tells me no brunch
(oh Well NEXT CRUISE, you do begin to see a pattern.. right? ). I get waitlisted but can tell from where my name is on the list.. that aint gonna happen. So we work on dinner. He asks when.. whenever beggers cant be choosers I say.. I then eat my words.. I get Jens (nenner1) handy dandy spreadsheet out. Sebastion tells me he has one tonight.. ummm no that wont do cuz we want to have the 1st dinner with the kids. Ok Monday, umm no we want to do formal night with the kids. He laughs. I say sorry. How about Weds, no thats Pirate night... he tells me no its not, I check my spreadsheet... um ya it is.. he again says NO ITS NOT.. I ask him if he's sure LOL. He then tells me ya cuz we are staying longer in Cozumel so pirate night is Tuesday. OHHHH ok.. Sweet... book it! Palo Wed at 6pm. Meanwhile poor T.. she was just trying to change her ressi from one night to another and it wasnt saving on the computer. They eventually got it worked out by giving her a call later to her stateroom.

We get to our room and check it out, much more room then when E and I went on our 3day booze cruise on RCCL.
We drop off our stuff and meet back up at Topsiders for lunch.
NO MORE CORNDOGS... but they brought some out to the boys
It seemed like slim pickens at Topsiders... I know I had a plate full of shrimp, some lunch meat, and some other stuff. We grab a lil dessert and then we walk the ship.
Tonya hooks me up by getting me a DOTD. Yummy.
Somehow we end back up in Ocean Quest. We ditch the boys and T and I head off to the spa to get a tour and make some ressis. I got a scalp thing (Frangapanni I believe it is) for E and I.

Then its time to drag the guys out of the club to our dis meet. We make our way to the Promenade lounge and see meets and greets and drinks in full force.

4pm comes around and we go back to our room (bwt more on where our room was and the issues on it later) get our lifejackets and head to deck 4 (ya we didnt luck out with an inside somewhere.. anywhere as a muster station.. nope deck 4 facing the Disney terminal in the blazing hot sun.. It was pure joy (note my sarcasim)
I told him to stop blowing the darn whistle no cluse WHOS mouth had been on that
Babys in their get up must have been even hotter (Every time a baby would go by I would think of poor lil Sarah, since thats the only lil baby I knew on our DIS meet- check out nenner1's Trip Report for a cute baby in a life vest).
We head back to the room and throw the lifejackets off and head up to deck 10 for the sail away party which was cute, long but cute. (We'll skip it NEXT TIME)

The boys are hot and want to go swimming um but cant see Goofy's pool is covered for the sail away party.. and Mickeys... well a UFO (unidentified FLOATING object) was spotted in it and they had to drain and clean it.. which means... the boys were mad & no swimming today.

We walk the ship a bit more and TRY and learn where things are (no matter how much we all studied that map it still doesnt help, total different animal once you are onboard) We head back to the room and get cleaned up and change, then go to the shops. Thus forgetting all about the 1st show (ill have to watch it NEXT TIME).
We saw Daisy so run and get a quick pic before dinner.
Head to dinner which was Lumiere's and meet our table mates who are non other then Tonya and her family lol (we linked our ressis, like you didnt see that one coming huh LOL)
The boys enjoyed eachother company as we did too. Dinner was excellent.. servers were awesome. Gigi from the Philipines and assistant Igor (which I still cant call him that as I lol each time, and forgot where he's from) I had taken a notepad to write down everyones meals [stop laughing] ... well all I did was write down the servers names and ESCARGOT.. my favorite!
Got the kids to all try one and like it UNTILL we told them what it was LOL
So I have no idea what we ate, because I forgot to take pics of it too.. untill my plate was clean LOL oh well... NEXT TIME LOL.

I had escargot, normandie salad, the DUCK, and Grand Marenie (sp?) crepes
E- Tomato soup, sirloin, mickey bar
P- cheeseburger
J- Mikey Pasta!
I do know what J had, which was pretty much the same every night

J had a Mickey Bar for dessert, which would also repreat most nights
I had some type of crepes it looks like for dessert, oh & you can see my notebook I didnt write in their also
*Seas were a tat rocky but no one got sick.. except T, she didnt get sick just a lil nausous. After dinner she seemed to do better, it must have been all the water she drank... (see we took water bottels and filled it with RUM, and took the "water" bottle to dinner with us. Ordered sodas, or OJ and added our "water" to the drink... just a lil tip for ya that dont want to walk around with a flask or a bottle of your home brought alcohol LOL)
The kids were ready to go to there clubs so off we went and dropped them off and we headed for Rocken D to watch Match your Mate. But we ended up catching half of Magic Quest. We took seats by one couple and soon enough we were teamates. OMG I havent laughed so hard in my life!

We then watched Match your Mate, cracked me up (I believe was due to the "water" that helped keep me in stiches), told E were gonna be one of those couples next time and he told me there were not enough DOTD to go up there LOL
After that we went to picked up the boys from their clubs and went to bed..well after P and J ordered room service (they had been dying to do this for MONTHS). We got a BLT, cheeseburger, and nuggets and tried to watch some Indiana jones.
See the room on deck 1 was horrible I highly suggest if you get a deck 1 room to take your blankets up to deck 4 or near the cove and steak out one of those deck chairs and call it a night. You would hear a horrible noise, I believe it was from the stabalizers. Every so often it would go off, you couldnt hear it once you were asleep mostly cuz you were so tired, but if your a light sleeper your done for. It really bothered us when we were trying to watch tv, the noise would drown out the sound. Good think they played a lot of the movies and Disney shows we had seen a bajillion times. So thats the issue I had with the room.. oh and its so far from the beverage station. The 1 Plus of the room.. quick to get off and on ship!
We found our 1st Towel animal of the week.
I said an elephant trunk, E said a dead Swan
I tried working on my trip report but was too tired so I put the laptop away and hit the rack while listening to part of DUN DA DUN DUH.. DUN DA DUN (thats me humming the Indiana Jones song). Told the boys to go to sleep as tmrw is our 1st stop on Disney's Island.
