Crissi,
I've actually had something similar happen to me twice. Once, it was at work (ack) and I ended up in the ER with two coworkers and my boss. The doc looked at me and said "are you stressed?" I looked at my boss and coworkers, and said "I'm always stressed!"
Thank goodness I work in a hospital. That was actually a few years ago at my old, crappy job. It wasn't a particularly stressful day, I think it was like everyone else said - it was in the calm after the storm.
One other time it happened, when I was in a room listening to a speaker. I had just eaten a cookie and drank a coke, and I think my body got overwhelmed by sugar (I had also just had a sandwich on white bread and a bag of chips, more carbohydrates than I usually even eat in one sitting) and I noticed I was feeling lightheaded. I checked my pulse and it was through the roof! Luckily I was able to breathe calmly and relax, and it eventually subsided.
That time, I was in a room full of nurses across from the ER of our trauma center. If you're going to pass out, that is the place to do it!
Hasn't happened since, but boy is it scary! Take care of yourself
