Hey everyone,

Just a quick post re: lanyards and message center boards.

First....I know that one GTY person who is on the lanyard list has already PMed me their cabin number....but I know I've also seen posts from several of you that you are getting your numbers. IF YOU ARE EXPECTING LANYARDS (meaning you requested them before the deadline and got a confirmation PM or email from me) AND YOU ARE A GTY PASSENGER....PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEND ME A PM WITH YOUR CABIN NUMBER AS SOON AS IT IS ASSIGNED!! Please don't assume that if you post it on the thread that I will see it and remember it.....the thread is very chatty lately and my schedule is chaos so I often find myself just skimming and I am afraid I will miss some room numbers! Making sure that I have your cabin # is important because if you don't get your lanyards from me in the port before I board the ship....then I will need to know where to deliver them so you'll have them!!

Second....did i see a post from someone who got assigned a room on Deck #1? If so.....would anyone like to volunteer to be the Deck 1 message board? Right now we have message boards on all the other decks but we have nobody on Deck 1 yet. If you'd like to be the Deck #1 message board just shoot me a PM and I will make sure I have supplies for you and that your room number gets added to post #1.

RUNNERS: The DDD Walkers have decided on an official start time each morning (7:45 on Deck 4). If you runners want to come up with a meeting time, I would be happy to add it to Post #1 for you. Just let me know!

I hope to run early, like around 6:30 or 7:00, every other morning. But I wont set an alarm as that might wake up the DW and DKs. So I would be hard pressed to committ to a time as it will depend on when I wake up. I would hate for people to be waiting for me as I slumber happily away after a few tatties the night before.

Kimberly - We leave NZ the evening of 22nd, which is the 21st US time. We arrive LAX on the 22nd (lunchtime, which my kids think is really funny - arriving before we leave ). We fly to Florida on the 23rd . I think Lois is also leaving around the 20th.

Heather - looking forward to your email . I like hot tea, although just boring normal tea like English Breakfast.

So, how does the jet lag work? Not that we really have any schedules to worry about when we vist NZ & come home...but I've always wondered that. Our jet lag from Hawaii always takes us out for a few days, and it's 4 hours difference from our home time zone.

Told the boys teachers at back to school night, and they both thought our vacation sounded just heavenly! J's teacher (1st grade) said she will get some independent studying stuff together for me. P's teacher (4th grade) said she would get whatever they were working on for that week but nothing much at all..Told her we were planning on having him read for hit 30mins a day along with keep a journal of the day and she said PERFECT. He can come back and give an oral report about his vacation...he was right there and sort of made a face.. so she said OR you could WRITE a 5page report on it. HE perked up.. an oral report sounds great, Ill even bring in any suviners I get to share 1 more crisses averted

I'm glad that most of everyone's teachers (if not all?) are supportive. I taught 1st grade & I always thought it was SO important for family vacations to happen & memories made. And whoever said it was right...they won't remember that week of school, but they WILL remember all the family bonding and special things.

We were about 100 yards or more away from where she was stopped. I told the kids to make a run for it and I would call the school and find out what was going on, but before they had made 10 steps she shut the door and left!!!!!! She left Grady and my little neighbor girl standing there.
Oh, and I've had vertigo all week too!

A child's safety is paramount, & I can't believe that leaving the children would ever be accepted by a responsible district. Let us know what ends up happening & what sort of results you get!

Well UPS guy came about 30 min ago no documents But I do now have 50 mint tins and personalized ribbons for my brother's grooms dinner now all I have to do is assemble and put the personalized M&M's in them.
