Doreen's New Way of Life (comments are welcome)

Doe, your posts are really sunny and bright these days and just make me feel so happy for you!

It's so good to read you are on the "up" swing and congrats on staying on program. I love your bear and know you will be adding many more days to him.

Keep up the good work and luxuriate (is that a word?) with that lavendar hand lotion - I'm sure it smells divine - and you are SO worth it! :) Have a good week!

I'm glad you're on the sunny side of the d-zone. Did you get your lunch walk in? Have a great day.

Actually, Stephanie, I DIDN'T get my walk in. Work and eating took up my time. I'll try to get out with the puppy as soon as I get home tonight.

1. Meds & vitamin taken.
2. Almost finished my 3rd mug.
3. Still on track with my food plan for the day. Had B & L - no snacks yet.

I have a 2 PM meeting and a nasty issue is rearing its ugly head. I'm glad I'm feeling sunny and able to handle it today - last week this same thing would have put me in a tail spin!

 for that meeting, WISH-sis. I'll be thinking about you.

Erin

that lavendar cream sounds absolutely wonderful. i'm glad that you got to do that for *you*! :)

sorry you have a nasty issue to deal with at work, but i'm very happy that you are in a positve place mentally where you know you can get through it. hope that went okay for you!

and i hope the rest of your day goes great as well :sunny:

oh yeah, "walkin on sunshine" has now taken up residence in my head as well :p

  I hope that nasty issue resolves quickly, so you can enjoy the rest of your week.

Hi Doe!
I hope the work issue clears quickly for you. I can hear :listen: the smile in your voice and I don't want anything to dampen (sp?) that!
Sounds like you had a good day as far as staying OP. Hope you got your walk with the puppy in tonight. I promise to hit the *evil* stepper tonight myself.;)
And I've just got to tell you, my DH is a huge NASCAR fan. His guy is Mark Martin. I myself like Michael Waltrip puckerup: ! And DS, who is 6, can pretty much name any driver (and has since he was 3:eek: ). His favorite driver is Dale Jr. So I'll keep you company on Sunday afternoons for the next, what, 34 weeks??!:p
Oh well, have a good evening! I'll stop by tomorrow again!:sunny:

Count me in for the long haul too. I'm a Tony Stewart fan. Good thing hot wings and beer are allowed on Atkins.::yes::

I had no idea there were NASCAR fans on WISH! I generally watch the start of the race, take a nap, and then wake up for the last laps.... :p My favorite driver used to be Terry Labonte but I'm afraid I'll have to start cheering for a younger guy. I'm leaning toward Michael Waltrip - he and his brother DW crack me up!

Dinner went as planned. I also had a couple bites of applesauce and one dark chocolate covered cherry. However, I had the carbs to allow them and it's another cheat free day for me!!

I did not get my walk in with the puppy! I'll have to work on the exercise thing a little harder. I had loaned my Pilates DVDs to a friend but I got them back today, so maybe I should get up early and get it done before work tomorrow. We'll see!

I'm off to change my bear clippie!! :sunny:

Morning Doe,

I realised that your cheat free clippie matches mine. Wanna race??

-------------- :boat:

-------------------------------- :boat:

I am not going to cheat until March 13th. I will have a piece of my sons wedding cake. Then I will start my cheat free clippie all over.

Hmmm, can I be cheat free until March 13th?? Sounds like a long time - don't know if I'll make it that far but I guess it's as good a goal as any! You're on R_Judy!! Hopefully it will give me more incentive to stay on track. :p

Today will be a tough one. I did not get up to exercise early - in fact I got up late and didn't have time to pack any food for the office! I WILL stay on plan though. I also have a very difficult meeting I need to hold at 10:30 so if any of you could send good thoughts my way and prayers to Heaven on my behalf, I'd appreciate it.

Goals:
1. Meds & vitamins - they're right here, waiting for me to refill my water mug.
2. Water - 5 mugs, finished 1 mug already!
3. Food at 60 carbs or less. B = Atkins Advantage bar (2g). L = something from the cafeteria - probably a salad with lots of ham & cheese on top. D = chicken of some kind - I have a pack of chicken breasts in the fridge that need to be cooked, or possibly taco salad made with leftovers from Sunday night.

Here I go, into the day. I won't have time to visit many journals until much later, but I'm thinking of everyone! :grouphug:

Good morning, dear Doreen, good morning to you!:sunny: Consider yourself prayed for, WISH-sis. ::yes:: I'll do my best to send another your way at that 10:30 time as well. You're a wise and strong woman--you'll find the best way to resolve the situation and problems at hand.

Your plan for today sounds good, too. I have a tip, though. Forgive me if you know all this, but it's something that caught my eye. I was reading in my new book about hormonal levels and how their fluctuations can make us eat, and one of the hormones they focused on was cortisol, the stress hormone. As you may know, our bodies are designed to focus and fight stress by releasing the cortisol. After a cortisol release and the passing of the event, however--like in your meeting?--we may experience strong cravings to eat (our bodies way of repairing us, in a way, after the stressful event). So what I'm trying to say is: take care of yourself AFTER that meeting. You may find yourself particularly vulnerable to the EVM, even if all goes super well. Be good to yourself throughout the day. Oh, and slather on that lavender stuff!:p

 ,
Erin

Erin, thanks for that info about cortisol!! I'll be aware of that and try to plan a healthy snack or hold out until lunch-time!! Information and knowledge can really help when I'm fighting those cravings!

I'm getting my lavender hand cream out right now.... :p

Thanks, WISH-sis! :happy1:

That info about cortisol was quite eye-opening for me. I had always wondered why I always had a binge AFTER a visit from my in-laws!:p

Hang in there, WISH-sis.

Erin thanks for the info on the cortisol - may explain a few things about me as well.

Doe, DH and I are semi- NASCAR fans. We like it but we dont' watch many races. My family on the other hand are die hard fans. My Dad never misses a race. My family are Earnhardt fans so that is where my loyalties lie. :)

I hope your meeting goes good. Just put on the brave face and walk in there with your head high. Maybe it won't be that bad ::yes:: Your plan for the day sounds good and be sure to get that exercise in! We both need to bump it up a notch in that department

~Amanda

Doe,

I'm praying for you WISH- SIS! I timed it just about right for your meeting too. Here's some :goodvibes ,:wizard:, and a  to get you through the day. Remember you are a :smooth: princess: . I better go before the smiley police come.

Beth

Doe - just reading your journal now. I sent a quick prayer out for you, so I hope it helps!::yes:: These things are never easy, but, unfortunately, sometimes necessary. Hope it all went as well as can be expected.

You know, that's why I chose Michael Waltrip to root for. He just cracks me up! And I think he's pretty darn cute!:lovestruc

I hope your day improves Doe! I'm sending you temptation resistant vibes!:goodvibes Stay away from the EVM and make smart choices in the cafeteria! You can do it Doe!!!::yes::

alright, i'm a little bit late for the 10:30 start, but i'm going to guess you're still in your tough meeting, so i'm sending my thoughts and good wishes your way! :goodvibes

hope you got through it, and like erin said, take care of yourself afterwards ::yes::

sorry i cna't jump on the nascar bandwagon...i'm not a fan at all :p . um, but i like the indy speedway at the magic kingdom...if that counts :teeth:

hope the rest of your day goes well :sunny:
