Doreen's New Way of Life (comments are welcome)

Wow! I just caught up on your journal; you miss a couple days and you have pages to read! Remember, you are loved by many. I am so proud of you for getting back on track; I'm glad you got to walk on your lunch break. Keep up the great woork--onward and downward. Oh, and don't worry, I can't bring myself to put pb in my oatmeal. ;) Enjoy your weekend and have a great walk tomorrow! :sunny:

great job today doe :bounce: . you're definitely back on track, and i'm so happy for you :teeth:

hope you have a great day tomorrow :sunny:

Hi Doreen! I see you're back on track, great! I also noticed that you'll be going on your trip pretty soon, how exciting. I didn't get a chance to back track to your journal, but I'd like to know how your last trip went. Bet you had a blast! Take care Doreen and have a great weekend.:D

Doreen, what a great day you had yesterday!:Pinkbounc Good for you! You will find yourself getting back OP, and really feeling better for it I bet!:smooth:
I am glad you got that walk in at lunch. I can't wait till it gets warm enough here to head outdoors. The kids are waiting to have a tag sale cuz they want money for expensive toys and electronics, but I told them they had to wait till it got warmer out! Mom is NOT standing outside all day in 35 degree weather! So many reasons we are all awaiting spring. It just can't get here soon enough!:hyper:
i hope today goes just as well as yesterday Doe! Have a wonderful day and take those baby steps!:teeth:

:sunny: Good morning, Doreen!:sunny: Happy Saturday! I hope that you have a good day and can stay on program--just for today.::yes:: No worries about tomorrow, right? Just one day at a time.

How are you feeling physically, by the way? Is Ibuprofen and Tea Season done for the month? I hope you've seen the last of the DZone.

So, what about a walk? Do you want to make a pledge for today? It's sunnny here; I may go out for a stroll this afternoon. I'd like to walk around the development--maybe do about two miles.

I'm off to the studio to do some organizational stuff. I'll try to touch base later today.

,

Way to Go on yesterday Doe! And thank you so much for helping me to work though the issues from the Community Board. I really needed a friend and thankfully you were online and able to help me get through it.

I know you are going to have another great day today. The mountain of laundry has crept back up on me, how about you?

First, I must confess. :( I fell apart around 9:30 last night. I was watching Michael Eisner trying to defend himself on Larry King Live so I figure I can claim temporary insanity, right? I was disgusted and talking back at the TV. I only had 1 glass of wine, a serving of potato chips and 2 pieces of chocolate, so it wasn't terrible, but it was over 60 carbs. But since everyone has celebrated my good day, I'm even more determined to live healthy and cheat free today!

This morning DH & I strolled to the local diner for breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs & bacon - YUM! We made a run to the library - found lots of good books to read. I took a 2.5 hour nap. A friend stopped by for a chat. I made a double batch of tuna salad with lots of chopped up celery, onion & green pepper - so good! We just finished eating lunch - but it's 4 PM!

Goals:
1. Meds & vitamins just taken with my late lunch.
2. Water - yup, need more....
3. Food - B = 3 carbs, L = 20 carbs. I have plenty of carbs left for dinner and I've eaten very healthy so far today. I plan to continue this for dinner and make some sf jello for a legal treat. I will be cheat free today!
4. Exercise - DH & I have been THINKING about going out for a walk....does that count??

The d-zone is officially OVER!!! That's reason enough to celebrate in my book....LOL!!! Now I get 2 weeks of sunny days and easy healthy living ways! It's so much easier to stay on track during these 2 weeks so I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it!

woo hoo! dzone gone! i'm so very happy for you doe! 2 weeks of smooooooth sailing ahead :boat: . watch out everybody, doe is gonna be on a roll :).

and michael eisner definitely causes temporary insanity. so no need to worry about that. nothing you could have done about it :p

sounds like you've been having a very relaxing and refreshing day, and good for you, you deserve it! i'm so glad you are treating yourself well :)

and yes, *thinking* about going for a walk has to burn *some* calories, doesn't it? :p hehe, well, maybe you two actually decided to do it. but if not, oh well, maybe tomorrow ::yes::

Good night, princess: Doe-Doe. It sounds like you had a great day today. Isn't the relief from the DZone great? You've crossed back over to the other side!

Make sure you check your pm.:p

Hmm, I think I'm going down to see if there's sf jello in the fridge. What would we do without that stuff?

Sleep tight!

Dinner last evening was at a local restaurant with a salad bar. I had a quarter pound cheeseburger (no bun), a lovely salad and the tiniest bit of chocolate frozen yogurt with peanuts and a bit of whipped cream. I definitely was under 60 carbs for the day!!! YAY!!! I'll have to find that little bear clippie!!

I'm back in the game! It feels good! Never did exercise since we had company show up unexpectedly (hence the dinner out). That's OK - the food may be enough for me to concentrate on for the next day or two. I may start wearing my pedometer again, just to see how many steps I'm doing in a day. That usually encourages me to get up and move more.

Today:
1. Meds & vitamins
2. Water - 64 oz
3. Food - 60 carbs or less
4. Exercise will consist of housecleaning and laundry. :D

Time for me to get ready for Sunday School & church. Updates later! :sunny:

Congrats! Wear that bear proudly--you deserve it. What a great day. I like the idea of you just concentrating on food right now; don't get overwhelmed again. Have a great day, Doreen! :)

Congrats Doe,

You're back OP. I know you'll have a great week. Have fun with that laundry ;)
:sunny:

Will the bear make a grand entrance? :D

Glad to hear you are back on program Doe! Doesn't it feel great to get that back in order. Plus with the D-zone gone you will have 2 easy weeks ahead of you.

Remember to do something for yourself today! Brian says to tell Todd Hello!

1. Meds taken, vitamins are waiting for lunch.
2. Water - 16 oz so far
3. Food - B=tuna salad on wheat thins (15 carbs). S=walnuts (2g). Now I have to figure out lunch and dinner. I'm sure there's a grocery store trip involved.
4. Just got home from church, so I need to change into work clothes and start laundry & cleaning, not to mention that grocery shopping. Sounds like a busy day for me. I'm sure DH will be watching the NASCAR race so I can't put on any good tunes - hmmm, may have to borrow DS' portable CD player.... :p

Edit: 12:30 PM
1. Gotta go take that vitamin....
2. Water - 24 oz so far
3. L = bologna & cheese rollup (2 carbs), tuna salad on wheat thins (20 carbs), banana - not gonna count the carbs in that. Total so far today = 39 carbs.

I've been missing fruit terribly and if I eat one piece a day with a meal that contains protein & fat, I'm not going to count the carbs. We'll see how the experiment goes.

Hi, Doreen! :p Did you get my IM? I responded back to you, but figured you must've gotten called away by something. I hope it was something fun and not the washer!:p

I know what you mean about fruit. Today after church, DD and I ran to get some produce and I bought a delicious fresh pineapple. Mmmmm, tasting it was like being transported to the Disney Wonder and off to the Bahamas. It was so good. Nature's dessert.

Make sure you get some "you time" in today so that you're feeling rested and recharged for tomorrow. I'm reading a book called "Dare to Lose." Have you read it? If I finish it by Saturday, I'll bring it for you to take home and read if you're interested. Also another good book I read (if you like Christian reading) is "Traveling Light" by Max Lucado. That I got from the library, though.

In case you haven't guessed, lying down with the puppy and good book is definitely in the game plan this afternoon. I'm going to walk later. How about you? Will you feel like it today? Maybe a walk around the grocery store will be enough? I have my pedometer on today; put it on last night when I went to the mall. It does have a tendency to inspire more walking, doesn't it?

Hopefully I'll touch base with you again before the day is done.

Enjoy--
Erin

I am one happy camper!!

1. Took my Centrum vitamin AND a flaxseed oil capsule AND some CO-Q10! Don't remember what those extra supplements are supposed to do for me but I'll re-research it so I can remember. I just know I've been wanting to incorporate them for a while now.
2. Water - got 64 oz in!
3. 39 carbs from earlier. D = taco salad (yummy!) and dessert was sf jello w/ whipped cream. I'm not sure how many carbs were in my taco salad (greens, ground beef w/ taco seasoning, mexican 4 cheese blend) but I know it must have been under 15 carbs.

I skipped the housework and took a nap during the NASCAR race this afternoon. I'll ask the kids to do some chores after school this week and things should come around nicely without me doing it all.

Yes, another cheat free day!! Now that I'm out of the d-zone AND I made a grocery trip, it should be simple to stay on track. I'm feeling sunny and great! I'm off to update my bear clippie and head to bed early.

It's gonna be a great week!! ::yes::

:sunny: It's a sunny day! :sunny:

The D-Zone is past, I brought all my food for work, I have lots of healthy food to make at home - life is good! I got plenty of rest over the weekend and my mood is upbeat.

Goals:
1. Meds & vitamins on the desk
2. 60 oz of water at work - 5 mugs.
3. Food at 60 carbs or less for the day. B = low-carb cheesecake (14g). L = tuna salad on fiber rye crackers (15g) plus a grapefruit (my one fruit indulgence for the day). D = roasted chicken, green beans, sf jello w/ whipped cream (5 carbs?). Snack = Atkins bar (2g). Total for today = 36 carbs. I have plenty of room to add extra low-carb snacks if needed.
4. Exercise - I'll strap on the pedometer & see how it goes. I will commit to a leisurely stroll during lunch hour lasting at least 10 minutes.

Here we go, into the day! I hear Katrina & the Waves singing "I'm walkin' on sunshine, yeah, I'm walkin' on sunshine and don't it feel GOOD!".

EDIT: 8 AM
Amanda, I was thinking of you while I was at the grocery store. I remembered your post on the main WISH board asking what I've done for ME, and I splurged on some lavender-scented hand cream to take to my office. The scent of lavender is supposed to help you feel relaxed. :D I just used some and it really smells good! Thanks for reminding me that I'm worth it!

:sunny: Good Monday Morning, princess: Doe-Doe!:sunny: As the smell of lavender wafts through your office, think happy thoughts about how good you're being to yourself--good food, plans for exercise, aromatherapy--you're living the good life!:p

Here's a  . Thanks for our talk yesterday:happy1: . I'm excited about so many things--our WDW trip in January, our walk on Saturday, and even taking Mickey to the vet! Your info made a lot of sense to me, and I'm looking forward to hearing what the doc has to say. She was recommended by Mickey's groomer and she's supposedly a dr. who really talks and listens w/her patient's owners. Hopefully today we'll get some answers and a sense of direction so that we can help my pup. Thanks for your input.

Also, Doreen, thanks for being my WISH-sis.

Enjoy your day! (oh, and stick your tongue out at the EVM for me, OK?:p )

Erin

Doe,

Just FYI, I now have that song stuck in my head. Actually it is much better than It's a small World. Looks like you have a great plan for your Monday. I hope the aromatherapy keeps your Monday low key.

Have a great Monday.

:sunny: Hi Doe! Sounds like you are off to having a great day. I love the scent of lavender and I am so happy that you did something for yourself this weekend!::yes:: We all need to do it everyday. Not sure what I am going to do but I'm sure it will be something good :)

Don't you love having your kitchen filled with stuff you can eat and won't have to worry about temptation?
