Doreen's New Way of Life (comments are welcome)

I hope your meeting went well. Lots of :wizard: and if the meeting gets you down just picture yourself with your princess hat princess: and I'm sure it will bring a smile to your face.

It sounds like you have a good plan for eating in the cafeteria today. Hope the rest of your day is a great one.

THANK YOU ALL!!!

The meeting turned out much better than I anticipated so all those prayers, good vibes and pixie dust worked wonders!! All the right people were there and came up with a better option than we proposed - yahoo!! Everyone left happy - a real win-win situation for all! Just knowing that my WISH buddies were thinking of me and praying for me helped me walk in there with confidence and a sense of peace that all would work out for the best. :grouphug:

Now I can breathe easy and it's almost lunchtime. I AM getting rather hungry but I will be going to the cafeteria for healthy food! There is NO EVM in my future!! Maybe I'll splurge and walk to Subway for a low-carb wrap!! Amanda keeps saying I should do something for me! That way I'll get healthy food AND some exercise....LOL!! :p

I'm feeling extra sunny :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: , can ya tell??!!

Thanks again to all my WISH friends!!!

EDIT: 1 PM
I walked to Subway for my wrap - so yummy! I also stopped by Hallmark and found one of those Russell Stover low-carb pecan delights - delish! Total for lunch = 16g carbs. Total for today = 18g carbs!! I'm hoping the malitol in the candy doesn't affect me badly. ::yes:: I'm willing to take the risk.

1. Meds & vitamin taken.
2. Water - 3 mugs down - 2 to go!
3. Food - 18g carbs so far today
4. Walked for 15 minutes at lunch :p

I have lots of work to get through this afternoon, but I'm feeling so relieved and happy after my morning meeting that I'm ready to take it on! :sunny:

EDIT: 4 PM
Well, it's quittin' time here at work. I had NO EVM temptations today - didn't even THINK about that silly machine! I'm still stuffed from lunch! I only got 4 mugs of water down (48 oz). I can't seem to get that 5th one in. Oh well, I'll be drinking more water at home tonight.

EDIT: 7:45 PM
D = taco meat, cheese, tortilla (20g), sf jello w/ whipped cream, 4 Dove dark chocolates (14g) Total carbs today = 52g - another cheat free day! Amazing!

Doreen, I'm so glad that you've had and will have some more sunny days to look forward to. It seems like you have the "monster" chained in the basement now and keep it on a short leash the rest of the time.

I big round of applause for passing up the EVM! Quarters are put to better use in a jar saving for a WDW trip!

-Laurie

:sunny:

Doe,

I'm glad the meeting went well. What a relief. Great job on ignoring the EVM. I love RS candies. I'm allergic to pecans, which is good in this case. The mints only have.3 carbs apiece. Have a good sleep tonight. I hope your day is :sunny:

Tag Doe - Day 4

Hope you had a terrific day!:wave2:

Doreen,

Great job at another cheat free day!!!!:jumping1: Doesn't it feel so good at the end of the day when you know you've made it?!

Holly

Laurie: My monthly hormonal cycle seems to be quite predictable. You're right, the monster is chained in the basement for another 2 weeks or so! :D By the way, how did you know I have a large Parkay tub for all my change?? You're right, I'm saving it for our next WDW trip!! :p

Beth: I'll have to try the mints. The RS low-carb pecan delights were good but I only ate 2 and had some nasty, gassy after-effects - nothing terrible but from now on I'll have to eat only 1 at a time.

R_Judy: Glad we both made it through yesterday!!

Holly: Yep, I'm feeling pretty good about getting a cheat free streak going!! I see you're doing well in that dept. too!

It's Wednesday - halfway through the workweek! I was very tired this morning - thought of staying in bed but I made it to work. I have another big meeting to run tomorrow but it should be a cake-walk compared to yesterday's meeting! Today I'll be getting all the materials ready and tying up some loose ends. It should be a pretty good day at work.

Goals:
1. Meds taken. Vitamins will have to wait until I refill my water mug.
2. I can't remember the last time I drank 5 mugs of water at work. I always set a goal of 5 and I easily make 4.....I'll try again today. 1 mug already finished.
3. Food at or under 60g carbs. B was an Atkins bar (2g). Lunch & dinner are up in the air, but they'll be low-carb also.

The scale is down to 130 - I'm slowly losing all the water weight from last week. That's a good thing. Plus, I FEEL thinner.

Here we go, into the day!

Good morning Doe! I see you ended yesterday on a very good note. WTG!:smooth:
Sounds like todays plan is a good one and that you are ready for it. 130 on the scale????? WOO HOO!!:hyper: You are such an inspiration to me!::yes::
Keep that cheat free streak going! It is just such a nice sense of accomplishment when we get to roll that bear!

Heres some extra :sunny: :sunny: for your day today. Hope you get lots accomplished!

Hi Doe,

It sounds like a more relaxing day at work. You certainly deserve one. It seems like you'll:boat: through today. Enjoy today. BTW, DH can't handle the pecan candies, but has no problem with the mints. Hope your tummy is better.
:sunny:
Beth

Morning Doe! I've been feeling sluggish lately as well - but I think mine is due partly to the weather - we haven't see the sun all week :(

Yeah on losing the water weight!:Pinkbounc always feels good to shed those pounds and kick 'em to the curb. I know you will have a great day today! And remember to do something for yourself!

~Amanda

Doreen,
Glad to see you are finally feeling like yourself again! Congratulations on your loss, and your renewed resolve. I think taking a hiatus every now and again is a good thing. Especially if there are things that need to take priority over immediate weight loss. ::yes:: Now you are back on track and giving us all even more inspiration to stay the course! Thanks!

Keep the Faith!
Tracy

good morning doreen! :sunny: i'm so glad that all the thoughts and prayers made their way to you yesterday and that your meeting went much better than expected! that's always a nice surprise :).

you are doing so great, down to 130, keep that weight coming off. and *feeling* thinner is even better :smooth:

hope you have another wonderful day, and good luck with that water! just keep filling it up, you can get those 5 mugs down ::yes::

Doreen~ Thanks for stopping by my journal! I appreciate your encouragement! It's great that the scale is down and that you are feeling thinner! It's a great motivation to keep on going!:moped:

Hope that the rest of your work week is smooth :boat: for you!

Almost time to leave work - YAY! Not the most productive day I've ever had but they keep paying me....

Goals update:
1. Meds & vitamins taken.
2. Am finishing that elusive 5th mug!
3. S = trail mix (15g), L = tuna salad wrap (20g), S = another protein bar (2g). Total so far today = 39g carbs. That leaves 21g for dinner & dessert tonight - shouldn't be a problem.

I was really craving junk food today but it seems to stem from work stress. Also DD stayed home from school today - she was really tired. Now, before I get flamed, she was REALLY tired, like "I can't keep my eyes open" tired. Not sure what's going on but I couldn't see sending her to school just so she'd fall asleep in class and get in trouble. She actually slept until after 11 AM. So the mom in me is a little worried about her and what's going on with her health.

Tonight DH and I are helping the local child care center with more computer stuff, so I won't have much time for myself. I hope to get to bed early, since I've been extra tired lately. I know that I'll be sluggish in the AM because of the stress of this meeting but I've got to push through it. There are days when working at KMart seems preferable to going to my job! I've never actually tried to get promoted - I've always been ASKED to step up to the next level. Maybe I would have been better off if I'd stayed at a lower level with less responsibilities. Too late now.

Doreen:

It's hard to leave a daughter at home, alone, from school even if she's an older daughter. I think you did the right thing letting her catch up on her rest. Hopefully she's warded off whatever bug might be coming at her and recharging her batteries for the rest of the week. Also by giving permission for her to stay home when she's run down you tell her that you trust her to make the best decisions regarding her health and her life. Given your family's work ethic and commitment to community needs, your daughter has a great grounding for taking on the rest of her life. One day away from school is OK.

It doesn't surprise me that you keep gaining more responsibility at work - look at what you accomplish everyday! People who seek higher positions rarely do so for the right reasons. (And in my experience, they're usually less suited to the responsibility.) If you were working at KMart, they would have promoted you to store manager by now...

More sunshine coming your way!

-Laurie

Doe,

How old is DD? I know that my godchild is a preteen, and when he heads into a growth spurt, he can't keep his eyes open. I hope she feels better now. Great job getting through the day. Get some good sleep tonight.
Beth

Thanks for the encouragement about DD. She is 14.5 yrs old (she wouldn't want me to forget that .5! :p ) so she's definitely able to stay at home by herself during the day. She's still tired but says she's ready to go back to school tomorrow. If she had had a fever or was throwing up, I would have stayed home with her, but I figured there was no point in staying home to watch her sleep. Besides, I always have my cell phone on - my family are the only ones with the number - I call it my Mom Phone. :D

All this talk of exercise on the boards has inspired me! I came home from work, put on my pink Princess hat and briskly walked the puppy outside for 15 minutes! The good news is that it's FUN to walk with my princess hat on - it reminds me of all my WISH friends! The bad news is that it's still COLD outside and the wind was NOT helping - could someone let Mother Nature know that we're ready for SPRING in the North East!!

I'm feeling better now, thanks to my walk and my WISH friends! ::yes:: :grouphug:

Doe! You are doing so well! I'm so happy to see you back on track. I hope DD is doing better this evening--letting her say home was a good choice--I would have given her a detention for falling asleep. ;) Make sure you get a lot of rest tonight after the computer stuff--we don't want you getting run down too. Take it easy and keep up the great work both at home and work! Take care! :sunny:

And it's even colder up here. I'm just glad we are out of the 10's and 20's.

I'm glad your daughter is better. Sometimes a woman just needs her rest! :D

I saw your pictures of you at WDW. You girls looked mighty fetching in your princess hats.:p

Have a great day tomorrow! Here's some sunshine for you!:sunny:
