Do you feel safe enough to take a trip?

Go. We aren't going to WDW but we will be heading to DC in June.

Life's too short to be ruled by the fear of what could be.

I'm not letting it stop me from doing the fun stuff I want to do. I'll be going to WDW in May then again in December, and I'm thrilled. :)

We just booked are trip to WDW we are going in 6 weeks.

I'm having major anxiety about this right now. My DH who is home due to a temp. layoff has been watching the news nonstop. He's convinced WDW will shut down and is really worried about this 'new' flu. I told him to stop and to keep busy b/c he's making me nuts.

I think we leave in 32 days..(can't see my countdown). I think it's very possible that WDW might close down at some point unfortunately.

I don't want to live in fear either, but how do we become more cautious and still try to enjoy ourselves with so much to worry about? :(

I don't consider it hiding or letting fear rule me. I think I am using common sense to avoid a potentially dangerous situation.

The problem is that there is potential danger in everything. Have you stopped slicing onions because of the potential danger of lopping your fingers off? Have you quit going to work because of a potential car accident? It's certainly common sense to protect your family from a clear and present danger. You wouldn't want your kids playing on railroad tracks, for example. But logically it doesn't make sense to avoid a place because of a very miniscule chance that something bad might happen when you're there.

Our soldiers are risking death so we can be free, not so we can be scared. Go to WDW and have a good time!

Go April. Don't live your life fearing what might or could happen. You can slip in your kitchen and suffer the consequences, but you do not fear it. Go, enjoy.

I agree with Dan. You can't be living your life in fear. There's always some sort of threat or other things that can frighten you but don't let it control your life. Go, have fun.

Can I come too? :D

apagano, I agree that there is potential danger in everything. Yes, I slice onions. I don't let my children use a knife, though. It isn't necessary for them to do so. Yes I drive them around in my car. We wear our seatbelts. Etc., etc.
I, personally feel that there is an increased chance of danger in going to WDW next week. It isn't necessary for us to go now. I want to go, but we're not going. I just have a gut feeling that now is not the time. We must all do what we feel is right. :)

I am taking my youngest niece June 1-5. I took my oldest niece Jan. 1-5 and because of finances and AP, it is best to go while the AP is still good. (and the plain fact that I WANT to go) My son is tired of WDW

But, it has crossed my mind if something happens when it is just my niece and myself. But, I think WDW probably keeps updates on threats,
