The anti male speech in general is at an all time high in my almost 60 years of living.
Women say things online like, "If this baby is a boy, I'm getting an abortion. The world doesn't need more men."
That sort of thing.

This is nowhere close to what conservative and alt-right vloggers/podcasters spew on a daily basis. And they are actually being serious and want to change society to meet their beliefs.

Personally, I can't sort out why femicide is not recognized in the US, nor is any crime against women and girls recognized as a hate crime when so often it is plainly a crime of pure seething hatred. I mean serial killers who only go after women or girls, what would you call that if not a hate crime? Misogyny just gets a pass for some reason, sick and twisted IMO.

I think one thing that statement before resonated with me...one of the biggest things I have learned is that many men do not understand some of the things that we women just have to deal with every day for our safety. I remember years ago about to walk into a parking garage with my husband. I was driving so before we got to the parking garage I got out my keys and laced them between my fingers. He was like why in the world are you doing that. Every woman I know does this and has done this since we learned to drive to potentially protect ourselves. So just many times men (and yes that is a generalization) just do not realize some things we deal with daily.

Either extreme is full of nut jobs but this is what I was told regarding crazy talk:
“Nobody is saying that who is worth listening to. That is not mainstream thought, just some internet weirdos who probably don't even mean it. Don't worry about what people like that say. ”

The statement was not about who is committing the violence, it was saying that men are OK with it, and that is offensive. Any violence, against anyone, is unacceptable.

Yeah, but qualifying it doesn't mean that other things aren't true. The topic at hand is misogyny, so we are discussing violence against women. Sure, violence against men is bad too - nobody is saying it's not. It's a bad faith argument to presume that people who are against the specified type of violence are somehow NOT against other forms that aren't relevant to the current conversation.

Also this thread isn't about men, it is about misogyny, however there is an overlap. Sadly children are also subjects of hatred in both as well but that is not the focus of this thread.

We're literally just trying to survive. We aren't responsible for the actions of men.

You sound like those men who hear about a woman being raped and then they say, "well, what was she wearing?" Or "she shouldn't have been drinking."
