Well, we moved from CBR to BC today and were pleasantly surprised to find we'd been upgraded to a water view room (2551)! We booked a standard and our only online check-in request was for a large balcony, which this room does have. Pictures to follow on the other thread - just getting settled in and checking out the resort. This is our first time staying at an Epcot resort, and I already love being so close to the park!

Awesome! Thanks!

@Scott MC Maybe you can hold out for a room with Captain Salty

Dee...they only have three packages like this, so you'd better act fast. Just think, you can set up your own fantasy room in your house, to pretend you are at the YC, while still at home. Just combine that with YouTube, and think of all the air fare you could save, while still having a Disney experience. :)

We have this creepy clown doll in our house (a gift from my MIL to one of my daughters, who rejected it outright). Periodically, I stuff it under the random pillow or in the odd dresser drawer because it's a free way of tormenting one of my kids when they're being especially vexatious. I think Captain Salty would provide endless entertainment. Just imagine your spouse's reaction when he or she climbs under the sheets and finds Salty grinning back?

Does that over look the quiet pool?

So, I guess we're going to WDW twice this year! My future DBIL (who reads these threads so, Hi Seth!) is hosting his bachelor party at WL from 4/28-5/1! I haven't stayed at WL since I was in my early 20's, and this time, we're staying CL! Talk about an unexpected big win! We are a bit nervous as we have a pet that's been diagnosed with cancer, but she's already outlived her original prognosis and is currently doing quite well. We're sincerely hoping she continues to do well through the time of our trip. It'll be our first non-BC/YC stay since 2012, but of course, we'll be back at BC in August!

Just wanted to share our happy news!

That's fantastic! There's always room for a bonus trip! Thanks for letting us know.

:woohoo:

Does anyone else hate the new rooms as much as I do? They're just ugly. There's nothing special about them. I don't go to Disney to stay in a hotel that looks like every other hotel out there. The best part of the Disney resorts if the way the furniture, etc. reflects the theme of the resort. There's nothing "Yacht Club" about a brown room. I hope they don't do this to the Beach Club too.

The Beach Club has completed renovations. It is far more generic than it was. I like the look. I miss the old fashioned Disney themeing but it is a thing of the past. Young folks, in general, want the deluxe look and feel and complained vocally before renos

I just saw online that Captain's Grille is officially relocated to Ariel's from mid-May to "fall" 2017 and reservations are now able to be booked after 5/14 (where you couldn't before). SO happy to see this, as we wanted to do a breakfast there in August. The food and prices look perfect for an OOP meal!

Good news! We're staying at YC and had been looking forward to the menu and convenience.

I don't necessarily think young people reject the Disney touches. Of course things should be updated but after all they are still there to visit the parks and see Mickey. It can be both updated and have Disney touches if Disney would choose that.

Thanks to an absolutely insane AP deal, my kiddo and I are on the Club Level at YC June 3 - 10. We were there back in 2015, before the lounge was renovated, and I wondered how different it is now?

Watching this thread and looking forward to more updates!!! :thumbsup2

Our trips overlap! We'll be there for our first YC stay June 4-8. Hello to a fellow Texan!

:thumbsup2 We'll have a leg up on dealing with the heat and humidity, at least when we aren't in the pool or the lounge like smart Texans!
