New here and just trying to subscribe to this thread. We are planning to stay at Contemporary in Dec - Jan if I can wade through all the information and figure out how to make the reservation and get the best deal!

We have just booked for Jan 6th-12th. we originally wanted to book from the 4th but there is no availability.

Now we are not sure where to stay on the 4th and 5th, I have booked a room at AKL for those 2 nights, but I'm not sure I want a split stay.

It would be easier to stay the whole time at AKL or WL or the POLY, but my kids want CR (so do I!)

I just booked 2 rooms at CR for Dec 27 - Jan 1. One room for my parents and one room for my family. I got confirmation numbers for both bookings, but only one conrfirmation email for one booking was sent. Should I be worried? I requested above 9th floor and interconnecting door. I am stressing now that one room is not secured on the ressies. I put them both in my name and on my cc - deposit - but listed my parents as the primary guest(s)on their own room. Do you think that is the problem - or will it be fine since I got two confirmation numbers? Maybe the one missing email confirmation is just a glitch? Also, can my parent's room be transferred to their own cc ?

I completely agree!!! An error could have happened. I'd want to confirm that there isn't a problem. Better safe than sorry.

Earlier today a Cast Member who in the past told me about the arcade moving to the 4th floor before it was announced, told me that next Monday the merchandice being sold on the 4th floor of the Contemporary is going to sold in the Bay View Gifts store. To back this up I heard one of the managers telling Cast Members in the Bay View Gifts store where all the new merchandice is going to go.

Visiting CR in May 2008 for the first time in 20 years. We booked the garden view rooms which are located outside of the main tower. Does anyone have any feedback on these rooms. Are the clean? Will the construction taking place interfere with my hotel stay? Lastly, does it pay to pony up for the main tower? My budget has already been blown but I really wanted to stay close to the MK due to my young children.

The South Garden Wing will have 100% no issues with the construction where the North Garden Wing use to be, since they are at the opposite ends of each other. Personally I think the Magic Kingdom View rooms in the Tower are worth the extra $, however you have to make that decision weather it's best for you to upgrade you're reservation.

I just asked some Cast Members on the Atrium Club when the Food & Fun Center would be closing and they did not know, but one of them did tell me that he heard from his manager that the Contemporary Grounds might be closing this Sunday.

Any new info on the CR's laundry room? I know they now only have the one in the south garden, But wondering if they added any machines? Since the north one is gone.

Since my family and I never do laundry while on vacation, I never would have thought of asking about that.

That's interesting... I had planned on going to the coffee bar at Kona Cafe a couple times during my trip. Looks like I may be heading there more than I planned if this is true.

a gourmet coffee stand located in the lobby. I think they sell some baked goods and water.

There are coffeemakers in the rooms though, correct? I suppose I can always bring some of my own with me...

We are planning a Nov. 08 trip and still are tossing a couple resorts around. Does the CR have a very Christmas feel (decorations and all) during the holidays. I know from other posts about the GF and WL but have not heard much about the CR. Thanks!
