Can anyone give me hope that rooms will open up for first week of Dec 2008? A Dreams TA is looking for me, but does anyone have any history of booking far ahead & rooms opening up? Looking for garden standard view.

Here it is!

August 2007 - Newly renovated Fantasia Shop will re-open.

June 11, 2007 through November 2007 - The Lobby will undergo partitioned refurbishments to update the area's image and decor.

July 2007 through October 2007 - The resort's grounds will undergo partitioned refurbishments to install new landscaping and re-route existing guests paths.

July 30, 2007 through April 2008 - The Food & Fun Center will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as a new table service option, "The Wave". During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

DH and I are thinking of spending one night at the CR in September. CRO booked us a Garden View with a King bed, when I go online I see that there is also a Deluxe Garden View. In reality, what is the "real" difference? Anyone have any pics?

It did! We rebooked for April 3-11 for the Tower Theme Park View!!!!!!!! I was able to at least snag the AAA discount. Now, I'll be on the lookout for a code or special offer.

I am hopping for a Magic Kingdom View when my family and I check into the Atrium Club this Tuesday, but if we get Bay Lake I won't mind. We can still see the Magic Kingdom and Wishes from the lounge, so it's better then not seeing them.

Just remember that I won't be able to post all the details right away. I know how everyone is wanting to know what it's like and etc, however I am sure you all realize that once my family and I get there we need to un pack and everything. After that we will go to the 4th floor to look around, so I can at least take pics with my cell phone and e-mail them to myself. However since we will be going for the Hors D'Ouvres at 5:00 PM, then later on to Downtown Disney I won't be posting anything until later that night.

I am 99.9% sure I will be able to post the pics while I am there. The only thing is when I remember the last time I used the internet in my room you could only load up one internet site, so I got to figure out a way to go back and fourth from Disboards to my account on Photobucket.

I know the simple solution is to use the internet at the business center in the convention center, however since it would free in my room why should I pay to use it?

Yes! We will be waiting for a F&FC update and counter service offerings, construction etc when you get settled.
We arrive on Sept 3rd. The itme is going so fast. Forever it seemed like it would never get here, now I feel like I don't have enough time to get in all the planning and reading, etc left to do, not to metnion packing! AHHHH!

I am going the Contemporary for the first time in Dec this year and am really looking forward to it. I have been to other resorts but after staying once (at Grand Floridian) I now want to stay on the monorail if at possible(in the budget).Anyway, thanks everyone for all the info. and I will be watching everyone's comments until I get to go to my favorite place again.

At the Contemp?

I'd not be surprised. That's a HUGE convention time....the International Home builders Show is in Orlando, right around that time, every year (starting Feb 13th, though, in '08) and there are a TON of conferences leading up to that. We've gone down mutliple times for conferences right around that time frame and the Contemp always seems VERY full, due to the convention biz.

Pilferk-Well rats!!! I guess I can just check every day between now and Jan. and hope I get a break! I have a question- why would they let the CR be the conference hotel, when most people with little kids want to stay there? I would think they would put them at a hotel a little farther out.
