Disney's Art of Animation Resort (Part II)

1. Did they learn a lesson from Pop and put an overhang/shade over the bus queue? We frequently visit in August and bus waiting can be brutal. Never understood why they never extended the overhang they do have near the buses over the queue.

2. Please tell me about refillable mugs. Are they resort specific? Do they have the new chips in them (only fill within a certain time frame, etc).

1. Yes, AoA has coverings for the actual bus queue lines themselves.
2. AoA is using the same refillable mug design as the rest of the resorts. The RFID chip test was conducted at All Star Sports a while ago, but no reports of that tech being implemented.

One more question... Can you walk across the bridge between pop and AoA? My kids would love to visit our old stomping ground!

Yes, the bridge is open and you can come and go as you please.

I was also curious as well, so thanks for posting. I have never requested a specific building before. When should I request? And do I just call & request?

You can call Disney at any time to add a room request to your reservation. It is just a request and it's not guaranteed, but they will do their best to honor it if they can. You can also discuss your room preferences at check-in if necessary.

Hmm, I would request 7, but would I have to pay extra for the view?
Don't think I could justify that since I'm already paying more and we really are not in the room that often...something to think about.

No, unlike at Pop Century where there are standard, pool view, and preferred room pricing, they have not established any room pricing differences for the LM rooms. So there would not be any difference in price (at least for now) for any LM room.

Well, I couldn't stand it so I switched my ressie from Pop to AoA! We are staying in a Finding Nemo suite 10/19-10/25! We still have a room only at Pop on the 18th because that night was not available in FN.

So excited! 2 baths, 2 tvs and 3 beds! Oh, and a talking pool!:cool1:

The bridge is open . We are going to take a walk to Pop we have never been and we would like to see it.

What resorts (besides POP) are near AoA? I was thinking of doing some resort-hopping during my morning run :cool1:

CBR is just around from Pop

Can you get towels and lifejackets (for children) at the pool? Or do you need to bring towels from the room?

You can them from the pool. I know for a fact that there are lifejackets at the pool. When we stayed at CBR there was towels at the pool. Last year at POP I don't remember if they had towels.

Yay! We have a reservation for a LM room in March! hope you can convince DH!

Looks like we wont be staying in FN...

Finding Nemo rooms were sold out for when we are staying...I guess we are settling for Cars instead! (Which I'm not objected too, since my family loves the Cars movies and the rooms and exterior of the Cars section look amazing too!)

We are not staying AOA this year :( Although it sounds so awesome.....now I wish we'd booked free dining at AOA but alas it's more $$$ and our Pop ressie is paid off so I don't want to move LOL

A few questions.....are we allowed to dine at AOA even though we're staying at Pop? We dine at other restaurants on property, so I'm thinking that dining at AOA would be okay :)

And I noticed the new menu with turkey bacon and chicken sausage....does anyone know if these items are going to be available at other dining locations throughout Disney? I know that many people have gotten away from eating pork over the last few years (our family included) so it would be wonderful to have these options when we visit in October :)

We will definitely be checking in to AOA in 2013 though.....it looks so nice.

I'm pretty sure you can dine at any resturant on Disney property, they are not exclusive to the hotel guests.

It's official, we are staying in the LM room for our February stay! I am so excited! I tried showing my daughters some pics, but I think they will be amazed when we get there.

FN seems to be very popular later in the year. I feel bad for LK since I haven't seen much interest for it despite how pretty it looks

We turned our "First Visit" pins in to fridge magnets when we got back, so we get to see them every day.

What a great idea. I think I'll make some magnets when we get home, too. We're on a B-Day celebration trip!

I don't mean to be critical, but I'm pretty sure that they announced that you must take towels with you from your room as no value resorts have towel service for their pools. Has anyone else heard about this?

I agree that LK looks great. It is going to have so much beautiful landscaping with big trees and shade. I'm going to enjoy walking through it from the LM section each day and night. I love how it looks already.
