Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

It's still the same since I called the YES office to check my valid dates and was told Disney Quest was and option. I called DQ and verified to make sure since we're planning on arriving at FW in early afternoon, set up our site, head to HOB(with a restaurant.com certificate:)) for dinner and YES ticket pickup then a relaxed evening watching the water parade on the beach at FW. I'd be lost without the disboards!

LOL! Maybe not lost, but broke for sure! :lmao:

Wishing you luck with getting them at WL because I tried about 3 weeks ago when we arrived and was told no. Matter of fact WL was short on staffing and the MGR checked us in and he said Y.E.S tickets are in a system they dont have access too.

From my understanding this is correct. I have tried at POP and OKW to access Y.E.S. tickets and was told the same thing. I was told that the resorts do not have access to whatever ticketing department those tickets are through.

Hi...does anyone know if they have classes available for individual enrollments in May? I am looking for 2012 which I know is not released now but I can only seem to go back to June 15th on the YES website...leading me to think maybe they were not offered at the end of May?

Thanks for your help in advance....

Hey there! Don't worry about the comments...I understood where you were coming from because I also registered us for the October 7 class although not for October 3...we had already planned for an AK day so I didn't think it was going to work. The whole process has been confusing and since the program has changed in certain ways everyone is having trouble getting things straight and no one wants the program to end! Prior to the programs opening, we were told we didn't have to register for the home school program and in fact weren't eligible for it and wouldn't be able to but would be able to for the individual add-on classes. We were also told that both of us could attend with DS because he is an only child...another case of misinformation as that didn't work out. We ended up paying $56 more than we expected to but given the $500+ we saved on the tickets with park hopper and with water park fun, I really am not complaining. In fact, I am pretty happy about it all, especially given the multiple stalkings of the site that I have been doing that can now end!

Was that the Animation class 10/7 that you signed up for? That is the class I was hoping for. So I'm still confused :confused3.....it says registration coming soon for the individual enrollment. Are you saying that you can sign up individuals under the homeschool program with out having a group?

I just received an e-mail from the YES Program. There are no classes in March, April or May.

Thank you.

Going by this year's schedule, they started too late for my children to attend the classes.

I will keep looking here for information. Thank you for giving us what you know.

Yes - I received an e-mail with a link to sign up. I sent you a PM - I am not sure why but it has been open through the link since Friday afternoon - I could not find a way to get to it from the website itself and I was told on Friday that the individual enrolment will not allow enrolment even though it is listed there. Very confusing, for sure!

Here's the email I got from YES yesterday:

"Hi Alice,

I am so glad you are excited! I wish I had more information to share with about our 2012 dates, but we are still finalizing our 2011 fall programs. Typically we launch summer 2012 in March. However, I will do my best to answer the questions below for you.

1. The current cost of the 8 day park hopper for 2011 trips is $190.82 per person. This price will likely change in 2012, so please plan accordingly for the expected increase.

2. The tickets are available for participating youth and their immediate family. Yes, you and your husband would also purchase the tickets and attend the YES Programs as chaperones. Only one adult may attend the program per youth participant.

3. Once the 2012 registration site is available (around March) you will be required to register online and your ticket purchase is the final step of your registration.
4. You will have the opportunity to view all the classes available during your dates of travel prior to purchasing yoru tickets. Once you select a program you are required to attend to utilize the ticket. Although, very few of our programs cancel due to lack of registration, we do have a solution for those that do. We do require a minimum of 10 participants to run a program. If we have to cancel a program due to lack of registration, we will contact you 2 to 3 weeks prior to the program date. We will provide other options in programming for your child. If your child does not meet the age requirements for another program during your travel dates, you have the option to receive a refund or travel and utilize the ticket with no program.

I hope that this information is helpful and we look forward to having your family participate in our educational program!

Have a Magical Day!

Hmmmm.... I just called the YES program yesterday and asked when March 2012 tickets would be available. She didn't say anything regarding this. She told me that they would probably open up in late December/early January but there was no set date. I was really hoping to purchase these tickets :confused3

I was hoping to purchase tickets for March also and was very disappointed when I received that e-mail. I wanted to take my three DGSons. They would love to do the classes.

There are always YES classes. The difference is they are group classes, booked when a group, such as a class of 6th graders or a scout group requests them. You would have to ask in there will be YES Individual Enrollement during those dates, and even then, the CM you talk to only knows what has been released as of now. There may not even be summer individual enrollment next year, you know? If you go by historical data, IE for YES classes is in Jan, Feb, mid-June thru August. This year they added some Sept and Oct dates.

I emailed the Individual enrollment department to ask about March 2012 and recieved this reply:

Hi Dawn,

Thank you for your email. Due to park attendance and other events happening at the parks in March, April, and May, we are unable to offer Individual Enrollment during these months. We have added you to our email list and as new dates are announced for 2012 you will be one of the first to know.

When I asked what dates the program is normally available, this is the response I got:

Hi Dawn,

Thank you for your questions! We typically offer programs on select dates in January, February, June, July, August, September, and October. At this time, we are wrapping up our fall 2011 offerings and once that is completed we will begin to release information about our 2012 offerings.

Keep checking back to our website for updates! If you have any additional questions please let me know!

My question is this... If another group is formed, is there a possibility that we can join the group if the group says they welcome all homeschoolers? I really messed up by hyping the program up and getting my kids all excited before I found out that not all months have individual enrollment. :headache:

I know it isn't what you wanted to hear, but it was exactly what I wanted to hear. I was looking for the information about what months they have individual enrollment and I thank you for sharing it.

If I am not mistaken, I recall that Homeschool dates can ~sometimes~ be offered during times when Individual Enrollment is not available. It is probably best to call and ask very specific questions about homeschoolers etc.

Good luck :goodvibes

DS and I both used our YES tickets for the whole 7 days and had no problems at the entrance gates or FP machines. The are made out of the same stuf fregular WDW tickets are made of when they are not attached to your KTTW. I think it is called tyvek. Guest services at the parks should be able to replace them if they are giving you trouble.

HELP!!! WE Already have our tickets paid for but our dates may be pushed back a few weeks!!! Do you think the "YES" people will work with us??? Ugh, Im so upset. Our Yes tickets ends Oct 19th. But I would need somthing at the end of Oct!!! I guess if they cant work with us we will make our dates work.. Will be harder but what can we do!!! Ugh!!!!:sad1:

As long as you are still able to attend the class, you should be fine. I am assuming you are picking up your tickets, so they shouldn't be printed yet. I bet if you just call them, they could change the dates on the tickets. Now, if you are not going to be there for the class, that will be a different story.

From the Disney Parks Blog:

"I am excited to announce the addition of a new Disney Youth Programs self-guided learning opportunity for youth groups of 10 or more – the Kingdom Keepers Quest! The program, which was developed around the Kingdom Keepers book series and was written by author Ridley Pearson himself, involves problem solving, visualization, observation, creativity, math skills, language arts and critical thinking. Students will have the opportunity to work together to solve puzzles throughout Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort — just as the Keepers do in the first book, Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark. Do you have what it takes to be a Keeper?"

Looks SOOOOO cool - my boys would absolutely LOVE this! But I do not see any info regarding Individual Enrollment yet.

We will be at the world Dec 9-16 and I was hoping there would be a class my 6 year old could do, but from what I've been reading along, they never do classes in December? :sad1: I wish I would have realized that sooner and bought my tickets before the price change. :headache: Would you recommend I buy my tickets now or could there still be a chance?

Or does anyone know of anyone doing their own group for December? I would be willing to organize one if others were interested. From what I read though, I guess only one adult is allowed per 5 children, so I don't know how families would feel about that. My son has high functioning autism, so I would have to be with him.

They no longer allow people to form groups just for the YES classes. It has to be a group from an organization like scouts, church youth, etc.
