One other question. :flower3:

We currently have signed up for both;
Oct 3 Healthy Living Nutrition
Oct 7 Disney's Animation Magic

The YES rep said as long as we participate in just 1, we will be fine/eligible.

If we decide we do not want to participate in the Oct 3 presentation class do we need to verbally cancel it or not show up? :confused3

Thank you again! :goodvibes

This sounds like a great program. Are they all day programs? Has anyone taken a younger (6-7) year old? Do they hold their attention?

WOO HOO just registered for OCT 3rd. 6 day park hopper for 5 $867.40 would have been $1532 through disney. Saved $664 OMG:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Please cancel the one you dont want to do as soon as possible since another family may want to do it and wont be able to since they will be holding a spot for you to attend.

No kidding. Others won't get the opportunity if she doesn't.

Let me reclarify myself before I start getting flamed for asking a legitimate question...something I'm def not used to. :sad2:

This was my first day looking into this program and I wasn't sure what the proper protocol was for the Oct 3 homeschool 'presentation'.

The way the first rep I talked to made it sound was like Oct 3 was an opening ceremony/presentation for homeschoolers (not a class which requires you to hold spots) and Oct 7 is a paid class. However, I'm finding out here that that information was/is in fact incorrect.

Anyways, I ended up calling YES and they said to either call or reply in an email to cancel the Oct 3 homeschool presentation.

Does this make why I asked my original question a bit clearer?

Can anyone verify that the tickets can be picked up at other places than the 4 major parks like the confirmation page states? We had planned to maybe do DisneyQuest or a water park our first day since we won't get in till afternoon, just wondering what my best option for picking up the tickets are. Seems silly to pay for parking just to pick up the tickets. Thanks!!

Hey there! Don't worry about the comments...I understood where you were coming from because I also registered us for the October 7 class although not for October 3...we had already planned for an AK day so I didn't think it was going to work. The whole process has been confusing and since the program has changed in certain ways everyone is having trouble getting things straight and no one wants the program to end! Prior to the programs opening, we were told we didn't have to register for the home school program and in fact weren't eligible for it and wouldn't be able to but would be able to for the individual add-on classes. We were also told that both of us could attend with DS because he is an only child...another case of misinformation as that didn't work out. We ended up paying $56 more than we expected to but given the $500+ we saved on the tickets with park hopper and with water park fun, I really am not complaining. In fact, I am pretty happy about it all, especially given the multiple stalkings of the site that I have been doing that can now end!

Thank you.

As many times as I've read through the various threads and calling YES 4-5 times...I'm almost halfway to understanding a small portion of the program. The reps literally had to place me on hold and keep asking their manager questions...like they were confused themselves.

Here's some of the information I was told/misunderstood;

I thought Homeschool Days were select days from end of Sep-beginning of Oct.
Wrong. Found out that Homeschool Days (plural) is actually just one day Oct 3 (during that timeframe) and all other class are part of YES. Apparently Homeschool Days and YES are separate. You book a Homeschool Days package and can purchase additional $28 YES classes to it.

I was told by rep that the Oct 3 'presentation' was an included free-for-all for homeschoolers which gave us the option to attend or not. Not a class you sign up for. This is why I asked whether I needed to call to cancel.
Wrong. Oct 3 is a class...a Homeschool Days class. I don't have to pay the $28 for it because it's included in the Homeschool Days package.

Yes, it's confusing, but worth the effort. :thumbsup2

Was this because you paid for the extra adult, that ultimately cannot attend the class w/ DS, and the funds are non-refundable?

No, this was for the 2 x $28 for DS and I to attend the Oct. 7 class. The Oct. 3 was included in the tickets whether we register/attend it or not, according to the YES rep I spoke to today while trying to register initially. I'm still hoping there is some way to get DH into the class with us...time will tell, but I'm guessing that may not work out. He'll be happy either relaxing with a book or taking photos while waiting for the park to open, since the class starts at 8:15 a.m. and park opening is at 9:00 a.m.

All in, I paid $659.61 for three 8-day premium tickets (tics with park hopper and 8 water park fun and more visits)...this would have cost $1230 at regular prices, so roughly $571 saved.

How old is your son or daughter, Lehuaann?

My confirmation e-mail states: "Your tickets may be picked up at the following locations: Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park or at the Ticket and Transportation Center at the Magic Kingdom Park." It also states that I must bring a copy of the confirmation page and it will be collected by Disney from me when I receive the tickets.

Our DS is 13 and DD is 11.

DD is the one attending the Oct 7 class since she LOVES to draw. DH, who also loves to draw, is taking the course with her.

DS is taking a class in Epcot on Oct 4 by himself, we just have to check him in.

Perhaps we'll run into one another? :goodvibes

Our DS is 13 also...and I'm sure we'll run into one another! It will be nice to meet you and your family!

Yes, that is what mine says also, but there was a link to a Chesire Figment thread a page or so earlier that implied they could be picked up elsewhere. Just wondering if anyone had actually done so.

Oh, that would be good to know...and my old intel is no help! ;) I'm sure someone will have the answer for us.

Edited: I was curious, so I tried to find the entry you referred to and did. It links to another thread talking about tickets in general where he posted...not sure any of what he said will apply to YES tickets since he didn't reference YES and it is such a stand-alone program at Disney. His other entries in this thread date back to 2009. I'm guessing that what was printed on the tickets are our options, especially with the recent changes to the program. That stated...we sure have received conflicting/inaccurate information before now from YES CM's. I'm so glad that many on this thread are posting their actual experiences as it's helpful for those of us going later on!

I just signed my 12yr old for the captivating images class. Is the class really a few hours?! But I love that we're saving $600! I really hope there will be something like this when we go again in April. We're homeschooling as well and was wondering what the diff is between homeschool days and the individual yes?

The homeschool presentation filled up in January, so we had to do a yes class. Rather a bummer. It is always nice when you can be in a group of like minded people.

Do you have to purchase the park tickets at the same time you sign up for the class?
We are planning on going next June, but since there will be 4 children and 5 adults I am afraid to put out that much money for tickets in case something happens and we can not get our money back.

Yes, you have to buy the tickets when you sign up.

It may be because you and your hubby are considered immediate family.

I asked to put DH/2 children in classes and then add all of us (including gma/gpa/myself) to the ticket portion. They said that gparents are not considered immediate family.

Maybe if you have one grandparent go the class with each child, you could get their tickets at the reduced price? They would be guardians at that point. You and your DH are obviously immediate family.

Actually the post I referred to was #2985 on page 199. It linked to a fairly recent post (within the last couple weeks) where Chesire answered someones question about picking up YES park tickets. He implied that anything that can be done at the park windows could be done at other Ticket windows (waterpark/ DTD/ etc). Just wanted to see if anyone has actually done it elsewhere.

Hi- hoping someone can help me- very long thread to read though!

Can we do this?

We have a MYW package with tickets booked. I'd like to change it to room only which I know I can do.

Our dates are 8/16 to 8/23...

If DS10 takes a class, could I buy tickets for the three of us using this program? Also what is the ticket max? My sis and her family have one child but a party of four? Could he attend and they buy tickets for the 4 of them?

Also can we make the 5 day ticket an 8 day ticket and can we take the class on the last day of the trip, middle of the trip or at any point?

I tried to call this morning but the yes office is closed...

Thanks!

Rachael
