Disney website - someone should be fired

Still no way to pay an amount on your reservation.

CSRs say the same thing.......... they have to be hating life right now~

I heard that Disney outsources their IT work to somewhere overseas (India?). Anyways, that would explain all of the issues. My company tried that for about a year; we brought everything back in-house. I'm sure it all looked great on paper when that decision was made...

I went round and round in circles, trying to figure out how to make a payment on my existing reservation. I finally used the chat option and the CM was able to give me a link to the "old" payment area. You better believe I bookmarked that puppy! LOL

Could you share that link?

I've been having the same problem making dining reservations!

I've been able to make a reservation and have it appear in my account, but I hate that you can't search a span of dates and times. You have to individually go into each day and choose a time (which it searches a span of a few hours for,) but having to check every day of your stay, and multiple time frames for each day is really time consuming! If they were going to revamp things, why didn't they create an option to put in a span of dates and have it search any available times during those dates? Grr!

It would appear that different places also have different issues.... I used to have to access the reservations from the UK site by selecting the English - US option from the international pages drop-down menu, but that stopped working as the new site only offers spanish - US.

After several e-mails to disney where they offered various links, including the reservations one mentioned.... none of which worked, the reservations page doesn't recognise my booking reference..., they eventually just e-mailed me a list of my reservations.

As a final resort, I typed "My Disney Experience" into the search field and was able to get my resort and dining reservations up from this link....

If you retrieve your reservations on the new website only to see them disappear, try this: point your mouse over "My Disney Experience" and click on "My Reservations." Near the top right you should see your name. To the right of that should be an arrow. If you click the arrow, a drop-down box will appear and you can select "My family". This will allow you to view reservations in which you are not the primary guest, or if (for some odd reason) you were not logged into your profile when you booked the reservation originally.

Also, if you are not seeing the "Done" button when logging into the "New website" for the first time, and are only seeing the option to cancel, try resetting your viewing preferences. If you reduce the size of the page, you will likely see the done button. This generally happens when viewing the website with Windows 8. If you are unsure how to change your viewing preferences, you can also try accessing the site through an alternate browser like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

If you are having difficulty retrieving your dining reservations, there are a few things to check. The first is your phone number. Dining reservations are linked via your confirmation number, name and phone number. If you do not have a phone number in your account profile, that could affect your ability to retrieve reservations. Check to be sure that there is a phone number listed in the profile and it is the same number used to book your dining reservations. If you booked by calling, there are some reservations that will unable to be retrieved online. Otherwise, if you booked the dining reservation online, and still cannot link your dining reservation, you may want to call the dining specialists at 407-WDW-DINE to confirm the phone number, name and reservation number, as well as your email address. All three points of information must match in order to link the reservation to your profile.

The mydisneyreservation.com link seems to be working (for the time being) for online check-in). If you are within 60 days of your arrival, you should also see a link to online check-in on the new website when viewing your reservation details. A good rule of thumb is if you spend more than 5 minutes trying to complete online check in, it's better to check in through the traditional route when you arrive at the resort.

I hope this helps. If you continue to have challenges with the new site (or old website) you can give the Disney Internet Help Desk a call at 407-939-7765.

I haven't visited the site in a while since all my ADRs have been made (via phone since I couldn't make any on the website!) and my reservation was paid for (also over the phone).

I logged on today because my trip is a week from tomorrow and I wanted to double check everything. I figured it had been weeks since I last logged on so surely most of the bugs have been worked out. WRONG!

The site just cannot be used at all on my Mac. It freezes Safari up no matter what I try to do and I have to force quit. I have cleared cookies, the cache, browsing history, restarted. Nothing works. Has anyone else had the issue of constantly getting the spinning circle of doom trying to navigate the site on a Mac?

Ok, i'm having issues with my account.... Apparently i have 2 accounts with the same e'mail address. I can get into the "2nd account" which has 2 dining reservations, but my main account that has my resort and most of my dining reservations, along with all of my family and friends...i can't get to. Called Disney and they reset my password, but that only changed the "2nd account",
I happened to go into the 2nd account and "friend" my wife so that when she accepted, i could see the reservations i linked her with on my main account. (this is getting confusing).

frustrating....

That is a nightmare! I can't even find the website right now. The app doesn't link to anything and I can get into my DVC account, but my dining reservations don't show there either.

I started to try and "link" my DVC account with My Disney Experience - then I realized that something bad could happen so I stopped. Actually, I was worried about getting stuck in a situation like you described. I hope they work it out for you.

Thanks! I sent Disney an email too, but not sure if they received it...normally when i send an email, they send me notification. I didn't get one this time...and you may have guessed, i tried sending the email from the contacts location of the "my disney experience" site.

Oh, i also wanted to mention that i love the threads you started on the whole FP Plus... Read all of it, but don't have the insite on much to have added to the thread. I'll be glad when more information is given on it though.
When speaking with the CM that was "helping" me with this email fiasco, he mentioned that the whole FP Plus deal won't be active till later this year... again, not sure how much the CM's really know.:confused3 ...kinda goes contrary to other things we've heard. We'll see.

YES!!! thats all I get when I try to log in to make ADR's. I thought I would give it a practice run before my actual calling date (which is actually later this morning) and so glad I did. I would have wasted sooo much time trying to make the ADRs on line. I would prefer to do that (make them on line) if I could but all I get is just what you describe..."the spinning circle of doom".

So I gave up on booking the ADRs on line and will be calling at 7a.m.

THE SITE STINKS :mad::mad:
Sorry, just had to get that off my mind. As a PP said, how could a company as large as Disney have such a poor internet site....:scared:

Karen :)

I haven't had to use the Disney website for some time now so I've avoided all the current issues. That said, there have ALWAYS been issues with absolutely everything. I have never come across a site that is continuously experiencing problems, malfunctioning, not functioning, error messages ...... as much as I have with the Disney site. On any given day, I almost expect something not to work. The only thing I have consistently found to work flawlessly is running up a quote and making any form of payment ... go figure.

It just astounds me that Disney has never managed to get their site up and running and be able to maintain it in functional state for any reasonable length of time, yet they seem to think that adding more and more features is going to make the problem go away. :confused3 That's like having relationship problems and trying to solve them by starting a family :rolleyes2

Ive never liked the Disney website! I often wonder why such a large organisation has such a bad, slow website? I can only imagine its because there are so many people accessing it

x

I'm actually enjoying their new website. The old one never worked, never showed reservations, and was all around horrible. I have yet to run into any issues with the new one.

I went back on the new website today to give it another try and I still don't like it. I hope they work out all the kinks soon.
