The deal is pretty much finalized. Disney and Pixar have pretty much made an agreement, and unless something happens, then Disney will own Pixar. I think thats sad for two reasons. Disney just opened up their Computer Animation department, and Pixar loses any right, they are just assimilated, like the borg. So what does this mean for the new CPA dept? Are they going to be reduced to producing direct to DVD sequels while pixar makes the big films? Wiill Pixar get to retain that imagination and innovation, or will they be forced to push out crap movies like Chicken Little? Compare that movie to the Pixar films...and dont pretend like its as beautiful and fluid of a movie as any of the Pixars. The only thing that this means for sure is that disney doesnt have to share the money now, they get to keep it all, and monsters inc. in DCA had nothing to do with it, disney would have retained character and licensing rights in the previous deal anyway.
