Disney Removes the Ability to Leave Reviews on FB?

So will all of you complaining about this stop going to WDW?

I am going to Orlando in April for a business trip. While there, I will be buying an annual pass to Universal and visit Epcot for a day or two for the flower festival.

My original plan had been to do a split trip in October with my teen girls with 4 or 5 days Disney and 3 or 4 days Universal. I have since revised that idea, going with 3 or 4 days Universal, 2 days SeaWorld, and 2 days Busch Gardens.

I'm going to give fast pass plus some time to work out the kinks. I'd really love to take the kids to Disney soon, but I don't like how this is shaking out, nor do I appreciate Disney taking away customer comments on their FB page.

Someone did and it is still there, about three hours later. I'm not telling you which one, though. I'm not doing their work for them.

All of their Marketing Interns must have gone to happy hour..... give it some time...

And, some of us predicted a while back, that Iger & company have tarnished the brand.

Sadly, Disney has lowered their standards. How long until they're just another amusement park?

I am one of those people snell, I am not happy to see such a special place continue to slide. The signs have been there for years. This is just another bump in a long road for the parks and an Iger run company. Censorship of the customers opinions is so so wrong and sooooo sad. This is a giant step backwards that really should make us all wonder about the integrity of this corporation! They better get a leash on it real soon or this could become a PR nightmare.

Just comment in a picture thread and ask them why they removed their Rating/Review portion of the board. Let's see how long it takes them to delete your post.

But make sure to use lots of sugary pixie dust when you reply.;)

I just did on several of them. We'll see how long they last.

Good to know you have all decided to stop going, makes it easier on the rest of us.

My next question is why would you continue to post on a theme park board about a place you don't want to visit any more?

The only place they are stopping you from leaving a negative review is on a company site; you are not being censored there are plenty of places for you to leave a negative review. What company in their right mind would want to provide a place for negative reviews?

Because we want to.

As a business owner I also made it where you can't post bad reviews on my page. My Facebook is there to promote my business. If I can control it I'm sure as heck not going to let people slam my business for all the world to see. Half the time it was a disgruntled ex-employees leaving negative feedback. Unfortunately you can't just weed out the fake comments from the real ones. The only option a business has is to disable the feedback portion of their page. Otherwise I would have eliminated the garbage reviews.

A business FB is NO different than your own personal FB page. If someone was smearing you all over the place you wouldn't allow it. Businesses are allowed the same option.

If you were a business owner and treated your employees like crap, then there would be value in their posting that fact on your company Facebook page if you permitted reviews.

If you are an amusement/theme park and make changes that disappoint a large percentage of your customers, then there is value in their posting that fact on your company Facebook page if you permitted reviews.

As I mentioned earlier, there is a big difference between a company who starts a Facebook page WITHOUT the ability to post reviews and one who does but then later removes it because of negative reviews.

A big difference.

Agreed!!! I bet Walt is rolling in his grave because of what "they" have done to Disney....:scared1:

Yes, because the man who falsely accused union organizers and competing animators during the Second Red Scare would certainly be furious with the lack of moral guidance that removing the ability to comment on Facebook exhibits.

I have negative opinions about fp+ and some other Disney "issues." I will still go to WDW. I still love so much about it. I will continue to post my opinions and "complaints" on a discussion forum. I also post about the things I love. Why should I stop going to WDW? And why should I stop discussing on a discussion forum?

For what purpose? I could understand the community board perhaps but why the theme park board if you have no desire to return to the park?

Im sure many people, like me are looking at these boards to see how everything is going down. I would like to return sometime, but im not in a hurry. Not really interested in being a lab rat while something is in beta for 2 yrs.

I actually hope people read the reports on these very useful boards and decide they too should wait. People pay thousands of dollars for a trip and would rather not go when something is being tested on them.

I actually started reading these boards after my nov trip to see if people felt the same way...and obviously Im not the only one.

Because we want to. No one is forcing anyone else to read it.

If it isn't a value to ME its not going to be on MY FB page. You wanna slam someone go pay to be on Angie's list and do it there. MY PAGE!! Get it?

What if someone got on your Facebook page and said "hey this person (you) has a bad VD!" Well I'm sure you're gonna think "well this information is valuable to somebody out there!" And leave it up for all the world to see. Yeah right....

Yeah, but this is wasn't a problem, until recently. I think, it's coincides with the uh..lastest "enhancement". ;)

This. It is certainly not uncommon for businesses. Just surprised it took them this long. Social media has been overrun by rude comments, Disney would post pictures, special offers, announcements, to be inundated by filth and demanding posters. Can only imagine what it takes to keep those boards cleaned up.

i have no problem with them not showing reviews...if they had always done that. even now, they are allowed to do as they please...it is just shady.

why now? why did the review section disappear over pres day weekend. obviously they were getting slammed. that's the shady party.

I have been looking on the fb page for about a month...i have not seen any (not even one!) crude or inappropriate reviews. not saying they dont happen, but all that i saw were more disappointed reviews. its one thing to delete crude comments, everyone gets that. that reasoning is a stretch for deleting those comments on a day they were getting hit hard on social media.

i think i am more bothered that they blocked viewing of star reviews...no reason for that. they cant claim "inappropriate" on that

Yeah, we get that they have every right to change their own page. Doesn't make it any less obvious as to why they did it and we have every right to point that out.

Get it?

And that's a horribly bad and ridiculous analogy. You do understand the difference between valid complaints and lies, yes? No one is saying WDW has a bad VD, they are saying that their experience with these so called improvements is more than a bit disappointing.
