I haven't posted in a while, mostly because life got in the way. I've been finishing all my outfits for DD for our trip (all done now), an Easter dress (also done). DD has been getting all kinds of evaluations for different issues and had an EEG and bloodwork the other day. We will get all results on Wednesday. We had a meeting with the special ed preschool committee after a bunch of evals were done in Jan and she's going to be getting speech and OT services (for a bunch of different sensory issues and fine motor skills), which now means that 4 out of her 5 school days, I'll be taking her to different therapies. ::deep breath:: Also, my grandfather had colorectal cancer 4 yrs ago, got a colostomy and all was okay. He was recently diagnosed with an inoperable tumor and we had to have him put in a nursing home. He's starting radiation on Monday. My brother, his DW and 4 of their kids will be at my mom's tonight for 9 days. We leave for WDW in 11 days. I think I need a new life.!!
Okay, sorry about all that. You guys have seriously been keeping my sanity, without even knowing it. I've been checking this thread every day. I love all the beautiful outfits that have been posted lately. The handbags, too. Dis has been my little escape every day for a bit, and the sewing is keeping all the crazy stuff at bay for a few hours at a time.
Theresa and Heather, sorry to hear about your SIL, she will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hope all goes well with her.
Thanks to all of you that have been talking about the sensory stuff and the weighted vests and therapy, etc. It's comforting to know that there are others out there. Sometimes it feels like we're alone. We are just starting on this journey and it's scary. I'm starting to get some answers as to why certain things bother DD more than other kids ever since she was a baby. I just wish we'd noticed sooner that something was a bit off. I wish I'd known about early intervention before this year. All the evals and the therapists just keep asking me why we haven't gotten all this done sooner.
Hope everyone has a nice Easter.
