I haven't posted in a while, mostly because life got in the way. I've been finishing all my outfits for DD for our trip (all done now), an Easter dress (also done). DD has been getting all kinds of evaluations for different issues and had an EEG and bloodwork the other day. We will get all results on Wednesday. We had a meeting with the special ed preschool committee after a bunch of evals were done in Jan and she's going to be getting speech and OT services (for a bunch of different sensory issues and fine motor skills), which now means that 4 out of her 5 school days, I'll be taking her to different therapies. ::deep breath:: Also, my grandfather had colorectal cancer 4 yrs ago, got a colostomy and all was okay. He was recently diagnosed with an inoperable tumor and we had to have him put in a nursing home. He's starting radiation on Monday. My brother, his DW and 4 of their kids will be at my mom's tonight for 9 days. We leave for WDW in 11 days. I think I need a new life.!!

Okay, sorry about all that. You guys have seriously been keeping my sanity, without even knowing it. I've been checking this thread every day. I love all the beautiful outfits that have been posted lately. The handbags, too. Dis has been my little escape every day for a bit, and the sewing is keeping all the crazy stuff at bay for a few hours at a time.

Theresa and Heather, sorry to hear about your SIL, she will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hope all goes well with her.

Thanks to all of you that have been talking about the sensory stuff and the weighted vests and therapy, etc. It's comforting to know that there are others out there. Sometimes it feels like we're alone. We are just starting on this journey and it's scary. I'm starting to get some answers as to why certain things bother DD more than other kids ever since she was a baby. I just wish we'd noticed sooner that something was a bit off. I wish I'd known about early intervention before this year. All the evals and the therapists just keep asking me why we haven't gotten all this done sooner.

Hope everyone has a nice Easter.

Why thanks Miss Lori! You just gave me a reason to go fabric shopping! LOL

Yes, I caught you. Now show me the villain!
how about a "minnie" preview of our cheer leader!

That is so cute! I love to do needle work!

I got my fabric for the kiddie's quilts that will be broken out on the day we leave home for the trip, I need to get cutting!

Today I managed to get a lot done! I fixed a couple of outfits to take with us on our little trip to Lancaster and I bought some crocs for the girls. Don't worry, I will take lots of pics! I love all of the outfits and cute handbags posted today! Seriously, Sugarbees you are amazingly fast! :goodvibes

We finally closed on our new home today! It has been almost 18 months since we signed the contract to build a new house and it is finally done.

OHHHH very nice! I remember our punch list.....it seemed like it would never end.....hope all goes well! Is there a sewing room in there somewhere???:rotfl:

We have been home for close to two weeks. Boo Hoo! I am not lying when I say I took 3000 photos. I am still going through all of them. I am also working on a TR so I will let you know. I am 200 pages behind so I think it will stay that way!

Here you go . . .
I missed you so much Aimee...glad to see all of your pics...they made me cry...I get so emotional over seeing everyone's beautiful kids and customs that you worked so hard on, actually in Disney....I cry with joy I tell ya! I do hope you do a trip report and tell us all the details! Oh pretty please with sugar on top...!  :worship: :worship: :worship:

That looks great!! I love Mulan.

Hi ladies and gents....I would like to join,I just am about to book our first WDW trip and NEED to make a few cute things for the kids to wear, maybe a few blakies for them to take in the car. I'm not great with my machine I do a lot of hand quiling and have made some "baby leggs" on the machine also have made some cloth diapers and womens menstral items by machine. Other than that I'm not sure about clothing...eek! I love all the things you all have made, great pics!

Welcome!! This group is great, and addictive...and I keep sewing, and sewing and sewing because of them!! Our last trip to WDW, I had no custom for dd and ds, but this next trip I am determined to have at least one for every day!! LOL

That is a really cute Easter dress! I am such a slacker...no Easter custom for my kids.

Oh, that is really cute!! Love that fabric, and I saw it at Joann's this morning but didn't buy it...no way will I have time to whip something up by Sunday!

Love those ruffles on the pants and the skates on the AG doll. Are those skates also from American Girl - the purple one?

What a great fabric stash for $25!

Love the embroidery on the dress, and the skirt! I bought a Cinderella soft book on clearance at walmart, but still haven't decided what to do with it...I may case you and make a skirt out of it!

Saylor is just soo adorable, and the skull outfit looks great on her! Very cute!

That is really cute!

I love those purses!! I am going to have to make me one some day..>I don't have all the materials on hand.

Love the build-a-bear skirt! Where did you find the fabric?

I especially love the pink mickey mouse outfit, and the skirt!! So cute! Is that the spiral skirt pattern from YMCT?

$15 for a PURSE!!! Are you KIDDING ME!!! Wow! What extravagence, here I thought I knew you. To find this sort of thing out about someone after knowing them all their life.....well, it's going to take some getting use to!
:rotfl:

Sorry, I know that probably wasn't funny to anyone but me!!!

I usually pay $5 tops for a purse, but my last two were from a garage sale for .50!

Heather's purse is very pretty, I covet it!!

You should make one of these purses for Shawna!! Tell her it is a high end boutique purse.

I love purses, and I save up forever and got me my first Coach purse last Christmas..and I love that it has both brown and black!

Okay, Sugarbees was over this morning taking some photos of Lily and Saylor in some of the bajillion little dresses she has whipped up and I had to post a couple of photos. I LOVE this dress! I had to make an effort not to buy it from her right then and there! And Lily was being silly!

Lily is so cute!

ok, finished this today. It is cute and Aurora does not have her crown because JoJo said that she did not want one on her. I think I may put it on anyways!

th_IMG_3820.jpg

Cute Aurora outfit! Can't let my dd see this...Aurora is her favorite princess. I was at Walmart yesterday but didn't see that fabric, and not in our Joann as well.

We finally closed on our new home today! It has been almost 18 months since we signed the contract to build a new house and it is finally done.

We are moving too - tomorrow is scrape wallpaper day!! woo hoo - all my sewing stuff is packed up so I couldnt even do St Patricks Day or Easter things for the kids! I will have my own sewing spot when we move though! It will be nice not to be in the middle of the living room and have to clean it all up all the time!!!

Im glad you are finding something that may be helpful to your little one!! Hopefully you will figure out somethings before your trip so it will be even more successful for you and your child!! The therapists mean well, and if you dont feel they are a good fit for you, ask for a different one - not everyone hits it off with everyone - this is especially important with sensory issues, a real trust bond forms between me and the kids I work with - that allows us to move beyond what makes them uncomfortable at first, and helps them learn to integrate those sensations that are difficult for them right now. If you ever want to run something by me, by all means, Im right here at my computer almost everynight!!!!

Where did you see Cruella? And where was the dalmation puppy? I'm making a 101 Dalmations outfit and was already planning on making DH stop at ASMo for pictures one day - but Cruella would be cool!

Deb

Thanks everyone!

Terresa- The babes looks just like me from when I was little. It is not the best picture but this is my Brother and I in January of 1981. Guess where we are?

Deb- The pup was at the ASM resort. There is a ton of Dalmations stuff so I would def make a spot.

Love those ruffles on the pants and the skates on the AG doll. Are those skates also from American Girl - the purple one?

Yes, those are both AG skates. The purple ones go with a girl of today outfit. It has a skating dress, sweater and a unitard type thing. The white one's with the fur are actually Molly's. I thought that they looked close enough to Kit's era so I go them for Riley.

I especially love the pink mickey mouse outfit, and the skirt!! So cute! Is that the spiral skirt pattern from YMCT?
Yeah the pattern for the Mickey top and skirt are from YCMT. The top is one of CarlaC's patterns and the skirt is by Country Babies. Jenna hasn't seen any of these outfits yet. She went to my aunt's house with my grandparents for Easter. She will be super surprised when she comes back.

I love their idea of dressing their dolls up! We have an Aurora doll that I could buy ice skates for....is she in the show? We'll be going next month....[/QUOTE]

Yep. Aurora is in the show! You guys are going to have fun. Drew was fascinated. She sat there the whole time with a blank look on her face. It was funny how hard she was concentrating.

I personally love purses! I could never have enough! I am hoping to save up and next year get a fabulous Prada Purse. I lllloooovvveee my purses. I think you would just love a coach purse if you got one!!!!!

Lori

Yep, I'll attest to the Coach bag prediction. I have a problem with Coach. It's
an addiction...a very HEAVY addiction...poor husband...

thank goodness he LOVES me so!!!

Holy Cannoli...if those kids aren't just too precious for words! i laughed out loud at the "DON"T TOUCH MY DRESS!!" picture!!! All y'all people on this board have the most GORGEOUS children...with the most GORGEOUS names. I am just jealous...that's what I am!:goodvibes

My husband calls me tour guide Barbie. Only if I had her figure! LOL

We went for 10 days and my girls had 2 outfits a day. I know it was crazy but totally worth it! I made them all except for Cinderella's blue gown and Belle's yellow gown. They came from WDW. The baby had 7 disney smocked dresses that I have been gathering from :wizard: since last fall.

Our trip was a surprise but my DD really wanted to be the stepsisters. That was one of the highlights of our trip! It was hysterical and they made such a big deal out of it. People actually stopped to take pictures.

Funny about details. My DD is way worse than I am. She is sharp as a tack and will not let any detail slide by. She was a little upset that she did not have a white bow in her hair like Cindy. Thankfully a $50 hairdo from the BBB did the trick. At least is lasted two days. :)

Okay here is the whole story . . . It was really cool.

So everyone has already seen the Wickedly Fierce Evil Queen. I was most excited about this outfit. Hannah threw a little hissy fit about her sister being the princess. We worked it out. I am going to leave out all the drama.

Well this is supposed to be sunny Florida right??? Not today!!! It was so cold and windy. We had to buy a blanket and a Cinderella cape in the morning. Then I bought a purple tee to go under the outfit in the afternoon. Then we spent $150 for three sweatshirts!!! Luckily I brought a sweater so I was okay.

We were getting on Snow White’s Scary Ride for the 8th 9th time. At this point I lost track. I know we rode it 12 times all together. A year of a million dreams castmember stopped me. Her name was Angelique. She was so super nice and made such a big deal out of the girl’s outfits. Hannah was all like I’m not a princess, I’m the Evil Queen. It was too funny!! What I was so surprised about was the looks of horror on other people’s faces. Mothers kept on looking at me like I was a monster. I think little children were scared! So, within 5 minutes we were on the ride. We had a great time.

Guess who was waiting for us? Angelique with her friend Jessica. Angelique introduced Jessica and said she called her to come see the girls outfits. I told them this was Evil Queen Hannah and her baby sister Sophee. Then I said but when she is dressed up like Snow White she is Snowphee! They got such a kick out of that! The girls took Hannah and Sophee by the hand over to the wishing well. The said Snow White found out about their special outfits and wanted to give them a certificate. Each girl got a certificate signed by Snow White and the seven drawfs! Then they took my girls to Cinderella’s fountain and gave them pixie dust. They said a poem and made a wish and my heart just melted!!!!

It was the best!! I could not have been happier even if I won a night in the castle. I will never forget what Angelique and Jessica did for my girls. How cool are there jobs? Today I am going to walk around and make people happy!

So we were off to buy our sweatshirts then watch the parade a fireworks in the bitter cold!

:

You're in sista! Now, we gotta get jhammertime to get a babysitter!!!!! :cool1:

Ok, So being too cheap to actually buy the circly wrap skirt pattern from YCMT, I made it up as I went (thanks for the help, btw). And I had to try the hat too. I don't like my pattern for it as much, but I finally got it to work for me.

I asked if she wanted to pose & she said "No, I'll just smile." So we got 2 sorta goofy smiles. :confused3

Look at you! Turned out AWESOME!

Here is Arminda in her Build a Bear a-line skirt I made for her. I made the pattern up myself, using some of the tutorials in the bookmarks.

She was being rather silly, so we've got some goofy faces here!
