Hi, everyone!

I've seen people talking about needing water shoes at the water parks because the pavement is so hot. I'm going in the middle of November. Will the pavement be that hot, or will I be fine to be barefoot?

If I wear flip-flops, what do I do with them when I'm on a ride? Is there somewhere to leave them?

Thanks a lot! :)

It’s honestly personal choice any time of year. We’ve visited in August multiple times and never worn water shoes. We find shady walks as much as possible and hurry across area in the sun.

We visit in August and also don’t bother with water shoes at the water parks except for the Surf Pool at Typhoon Lagoon. The bottom is rough and before I started to water shoes, I found that my feet and toes got scraped up.

I wore breathable waterproof shoes (kind of like a boat shoe) and really enjoyed having the extra padding and support for my feet. The pavement isn't too bad as they have little sprinklers sprayer the concrete down in the most traveled areas of the park. I would recommend the shoes for their comfort vs being barefoot all day. Most rides you can take the shoes with you I believe but I would imagine some you can't if they were flip flops as they could fall of easier than a water shoe

I'm not sure which rides you can't take them on, but I really wished that I had worn mine at Typhoon Lagoon. My feet were pretty sore from small scrapes.

Some rides you'll be asked to remove them - on those rides, they'll just have you hold them as you do the slide, the CM will tell you what to do!

You have to take them off on any body slides where you ride directly on the fiberglass slide itself. If you are riding on a tube, you don't have to, however I will warn that I was once wearing some water shoes and my foot hit a wall kind of hard and because of the traction it kind of jammed my ankle. It wasn't serious, but was sore for a while.
