:goodvibes Happy Day Peeps!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the compliments on the quilt. It was fun to do and not as bad as it looks. Since I have no children home anymore, my family room has become my sewing room. My cabinet is open all the time, so my machine is always available. I have a table set up and my ironing board. I would go in and do a square or two in the morning, then work on it at night. (Of course, the kids took all the furniture from that room when they moved out, so I had to do something with the room! ;) ) It was alot of fun to do and I want to make another! :hippie: (Of course, now I am working on Christmas stockings and placemats for gifts.)

Melinda, unfortunately I can't get into the video here at work, so I'll check it out when I get home.

Can't Wait!!

I am waiting to hear from my AAA agent, as our documents for the trip should have arrived there yesterday. Then I'll pick them up and we'll have one last "Disney Party" before the trip! It is coming up so fast and I am sooooo excited!!! :yay: :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2: :woohoo: (Of course, the flight is at 6:15am, but we will be in Orlando by noon!!!) :woohoo:

Good morning...
(yay red sox! )

SO....i am already a bit nervous about weigh in tommorow. Not that I have done anything to self sabotage, I actually worked out an extra day and am DEF. getting in my water and calories have been good too..but i am still unreasonably nervous about it. AF is coming, so i think i need to realize it MIGHT be a gain..but i so don't want that to be the case. sigh..sorry..i am being melodramatic this morning..I just feel all this momentum with the t-key day challenge and i dont' want to have any set backs. PLUS i just realized i leave for Disney in 6 weeks! :scared1: And i really want to be at least 6 lbs lighter for that...
OK sorry, rant over...thank you Journal that talks back ;)
Otherwise...things are good! I had my final last night for class so now i have all my weeknights freed up to go to Curves whenever i want :thumbsup2

Thought I'd show you what I've been working on...

I made this quilt for my Grandson! Now that the top is done, I just have to figure out how to put it together & bind it! :hippie:

GORGEOUS!!!!! That is one lucky grandson!

How long did it take you?

I so admire quilters! I tend to just tie 2 pieces of fabric with batting in between (a yarn-tied comforter). You've inspired me to give it a try! Maybe mine will just be squares though.

If (and big if) you have a gain, it probably is just AF checking in. Just remember, that next week you will see double the loss and it will all even out in the end. You're doing great and putting in a lot of work so you will see results :thumbsup2

Speakin of weigh in, I did a pre-weigh in just now to see what tomorrow may look like and that number was low! Too low. So low I don't even believe it. But I sure hope it sticks around for tomorrow!

Forgot to say last night that I love the quilt! Great job! :thumbsup2 I also love the colors.

Well DH got a job offer in the company. Remember when I ranted about the recontructuring going on? Well, he had new bosses come down to his hub yesterday and one of them said we want you with us. What would it take to get you to come over. They are part of the company they bought out.

This would require a move. Bay City. It's 2 hours north of us. Lots to think about. Lots. So much going on. My head hurts. He's stressing big time.

I've watched homes sit empty here on my street for sale for 2-3 years. The housing market is just terrible here in Michigan. New contruction homes are for sale all over the place. No one can get a fair price for homes. My BIL is a realestate agent and he says he's watched so many people take unbelievable losses on sales.

I don't know if there will be any other offers for him. This would be a good thing if the move is worth while. I know we need to find out if there is a relocation package. He wants to make enough so I don't have to work and I can concentrate on finishing school.

My kids leaving their friends:eek: ..........new doctors:eek: .........my family 2 hours away:scared1: ......my business:eek: .............selling the house:eek: ..........the loan we just took out:scared1: :scared1: ..........the actuall move:confused: ............:faint:

Please pray that we make the right choices and things work out for us.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers! I know that's a huge decision. If it was 2 hours south, I'd just say go for it! You'd be closer to WDW and to me! Seriously though, I know it's not that easy.

I'm feel so old. I know DD knows all the bands of which you speak (and I know she has some of the CDs) but I'm afraid I know nothing. :confused3 I did look at the FOB videos and well....just not for me....sadly.

Here's a fun, corny video for Gayle (and Danielle and Sandy....my sisters of the late 70's/early 80's)

Lynda[/B]....Love the pics! Good job on the video...really! Did you have your portable tripod? (Josh)

Don't feel old Melinda! I used to work at Best Buy and was exposed to a lot of "younger" music there, and I have a lot of friends around here that are a few years younger than I am. The friend who came to this concert with me listens to a lot of "alternative" music and goes to a lot of concerts at a place we have here in town called The Canopy Club. It's a bar, but they have a stage in this huge theater-like room, and they seem to host a lot of bands before they hit it big. I've been to a couple of shows there, but not for a long time. She doesn't even go as much as she used to. I think she is starting to feel a bit "old" for the crowd. :rotfl: But if FOB ever came back there again, I know we'd be all over it!

I am a child of the 80's though, and I love me some 80's music! I really love all kinds of music. If you saw what was in my ipod, you might think I have multiple personalities! But variety is the spice of life, right? ;) I have a LOT of FOB, John Mellencamp, No Doubt, Gwen Stefani, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood, but I also have some other country, OKGO, All American Rejects, various 80's music (The Cure, Belinda Carlisle, Madonna...), various movie and musical soundtracks, Disney music (Of course!), Black Eyed Peas, some really cheesy dance songs from the 90's, Billy Joel, Survivor, various American Idol contestants (Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Clay Aiken, Constantine, and the list goes on), and who knows what else! My ipod is a nano, so I had to be somewhat selective in what I put on there, and I found that I put a lot more upbeat stuff on it since I mostly use it for working out and road trips. Bottom line - I LOVE music! It inspires me.

Thanks! :rotfl: I did have Josh with me, but this camera is a little compact point and shoot - like the kind that fits in your pocket. (Doesn't even have a viewfinder - just the screen on the back.) We bought it to take places we didn't want to, or couldn't, take my cameras (Concerts, clubs, etc.). Didn't need any support for it. I just held it, and tried not to dance while I was recording, which was difficult! It's a Fuji, and if the battery hadn't been running down (oops! on my part), I would have taken more video because I was so pleased with how well it worked. I did take a longer video than the one I posted, but I was having trouble getting it uploaded last night. It's up now, and I think I'll use it over on my TR when I explain why it's taking me so long to get my next installment up. :scared:

Thanks Shannon..you are totally right. I need to relax and go with the flow..omg! NO PUN INTENDED..that was terrible. :sad2:
Here's hoping your low #s are for real!! :thumbsup2

See, this is what I'm talking about. I don't even own an iPod! I'm still lugging CD's around everywhere I go. I feel like The Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer from Saturday Night Live. "I'm just a caveman. I fell on some ice and later got thawed out by some of your scientists. Your world frightens and confuses me! I see an iPod and think 'someone trapped these poor musicians and are holding them prisoner in this small box'. But there is one thing I do know - when a man like my client slips and falls on a sidewalk in front of a public library, then he is entitled to no less than two million in compensatory damages, and two million in punitive damages. Thank you." (Ok, so maybe it's not exactly like that, but the similarities are certainly there.)

From start to finish??? :confused3 Probably a month and a half. This is the first quilt I've made and am really excited about it. DD thought it was great and likes the idea of her son having something I made for the rest of his life. UH OH! I think I have just set myself up to make a quilt for every grandchild I have from now on! :scared:

One of the first thought I had was 2 more hours to add to our already 24 drive to WDW

Here's a great question: What's on your IPOD? Or what would be on it if you had one?

I have: Madonna, Prodigy, Kid Rock, Lincoln Park, No Doubt, Beastie Boys, Ricky Martin, Slick Rick, Public Enemy, Maroon 5, Match Box 20, Pet Shop Boys, to name a few.....

Linda we are so much alike.:goodvibes

See, this is what I'm talking about. I don't even own an iPod! I'm still lugging CD's around everywhere I go.

DH bought me an MP3 player for my birthday, because he thought I'd like to have it for my trip. The only music on it so far is what my DD downloaded before I got it. Guess I should figure that out soon.....:rolleyes1

Let's see, what would be on my iPod if new technology didn't frighten and confuse me...

BB King, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Blues Traveler, Black Sabbath, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, George Thorogood, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, The Rat Pack (namly Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr since the other guys didn't really sing), Neil Young, Elvis, The White Stripes. Yeah, that'll do it for now. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few bands that I really like (Jonny Lang and Deep Purple come to mind), but I think I'd be happy with the bands that I listed.

Lex - don't feel old! You're still young! You might like the bands better if you listened to the cd - it's hard to get a feel for something like that if it's recorded. course I didn't watch lynda's video yet.

I eat fiber one bars when I'm craving carbs and trying to be good. They're yummy - or at least the peanut butter one is.
I don't like the chocolate one.

lynda - I looooooove mr. brightside.
I like bands like fall out boy and all american rejects, but I don't know who is who cuz I don't watch music videos - I just listen on the radio.
and stations around here are really bad about saying who is who.

I didn't own an ipod until about 6-7 months ago. Once again, my friend had one and was talking about it and showing it to me, and then I wanted one. I think she's a bad influence! We tend to encourage each other to try new things, which is great, but they often involve spending money. :rotfl: Now that I have the ipod (which I had little to no interest in before seeing my friend's), I LOVE IT! It REALLY helps when I work out. I can take it on walks or listen to it while I ride my exercise bike.

We've done this before, and I love it! I'm adding new stuff to mine from time to time and discovering new music, so it's a great topic. And I can't believe I forgot it, but I also have Maroon 5 and Matchbox 20 on mine. Love them both!

Yeah, it looks like we have several in common Monica! ;)

Oh yeah, (see I forget things!) I have Blues Traveler, Queen, Clapton, Dean Martin, Sinatra (Actually not sure Sinatra's on there, but I have a CD. Wonder if I have room. :rolleyes1), and a few songs from a tribute to Zeppelin album. I should look into getting The White Stripes. I like them.

lynda - I looooooove mr. brightside.

I don't watch music videos either. My friend had to tell me which songs were which for a while, but I have FOB and All American Rejects figured out now. I had to help DH figure it out on his ipod. (My friend made us a couple CD's sampling FOB, All American Rejects, Gym Class Heroes, etc. a while back, so we had to type in the titles on our ipods.) Now that we know we like it, we're buying the whole CD's. But a lot of FOB song titles are long and don't make that much sense anyway - like Our Lawyers Made Us Change the Name of this Song So We Don't Get Sued  . I only know them because I had to type them in, I think.

No ipod for me either. Heck, I just started buying cd's a couple of years ago!!!! One day I'll get one though and I'll load it up with Queen, Billy Idol, Metallica, System of a Down, 3 Doors Down, Portishead.... Well, I'll probably have one of the kids load it for me since I won't be able to figure it out. I got a new camera last week and am still working on learning how to use it.

I did a pre-weigh in this morning and it's not good. Between the dinner out last Saturday and the biscuit w/butter I had with dinner last night, I'm up a creek this week. My sinuses are so bad (bad air quality here--gee I wonder why with all of those raging fires south of us) that I can't lay down and do any floor exercises and I even had to cut my walk short last night because of the sinus pain.

Plus I'm really stressing over the 20 minute layover for our Jan trip. I just can't believe it.

Back to work--that'll make me feel better.:rotfl2:

I love Rubberneckin'! It's a huge remix on my Ipod! And Aretha. That's all one has to say. She is awesome!

Lynda: I'm so an 80's girl. I don't walk around looking like one, but I did back in the day. Love all the music from then. I love 80's trivia. I can't let it go.

Just for one day I'd like to have my spiral long permed hair, pulled back in a banana clip. My tight Jordash jeans, accessorized with leg warmers. My neon v-neck sweater over my dad's white T-shirt. Pinned to my wool coat is a gummie bear. My arms adorned half-way up with neon plastic bracelets. Two swatch watches on each wrist. Oh don't forget my dark black shades and chomping on gum while walking the mall with my 2 best friends thinking we were the BOMB!. I think I was 14 at the time. True story. Ok, I hope that gave you all a nice laugh.

That reminds me, my DH got me the adaptor for the car and I haven't even opened it yet. I think I got it for christmas last year. Yikes!

:rotfl: Just yesterday, I ran across a photo of my in my skin tight Jordache's. I remember they had a 21" waist size. Oh were those the days. I was in my mid 20's then and did have the perm too. At the time I lived in MO and I used to wear leg warmers over cowboy boots. Too bad there isn't a photo of that anywhere.

Ok, here are some pictures of the girls. The pictures of me I do not like one bit. Too embarrassed to show them. Another push I need to set my mind to do this diet already.
