WOW!! I don't Dis for one day and I miss everything!!! :scared1:
Merryl, I'm so sorry you had such a CRAZY weekend. I'm glad everyone is okay though.

Beth, I'm so glad DDIL is doing okay. Will they keep doing these tests on her throughout the whole pregnancy, or is it something that they will eventually stop because of her bleeding??

Stefanie, NKOTB!!!! I so wish I could go!!! I loved them when I was a kid!!!

That will teach you to stay away from the DIS!!!

Now that my DDIL is entering her second trimester I think the testing will slow down. Because of the fact that these babies were so difficult to conceive, the doctors wanted to make sure that everything was fine with them. So far, they've passed all the tests with flying colors, and most of the problems that could have developed are in the past. Their spines are closed, their hearts are beating, and their arms and legs are moving. The test for Downs Syndrome was negative, and some other genetic test that was done was perfect. Now I think they'll continue to monitor, but not keep poking and prodding at the babies or the mother! She went to the doctor today and I haven't heard from her yet, so I guess that means everything is good. We should know the genders soon, and then all we have to do is wait!

Beth

Wow, lots of goings on!

Merryl, I hope DS is feeling better and staying healthy.

Happy Birthday Jennifer and Stacey!

So did anyone else have to look up "NKOTB" or am I the only one?:confused3

So I may need to re-arrange some of our vacation plans....I'm trying to get a 1-yr assignment in the desert next summer! Right now I'm the only one who's volunteered for the position, but the personnel center is not sure the requirement is still valid. Wish me luck. popcorn::

We're pretty much packed up for our ABD trip. The conventional wisdom says to pack light, so we are just taking one carry-on each. And thankfully this trip is just one country, and one currency! We'll be sure to check in afterwards!

Wendy

Hi everyone, I saw Jersey Boys yesterday in Chicago and it was terrific. What a great show. Has anyone else seen it?

Hi Judy,
Is that a play or movie? We did see Wall-E and Made of Honor while we were at Ramstein last week. Jasmine does a great imitation of Wall-E. :goodvibes

I can't wait to see Mamma Mia! I've seen the play, and we both love the soundtrack.

We leave tomorrow morning!

Wendy

It is a play and it is fantastic! This was Girl's Day Out (we all played hooky form work) and we are going to see Wicked on October 15.
My friend and her daughter saw Mama Mia (the movie) over the weekend and loved it. Her daughter saw the touring company at Western Michigan University (where she goes to school) and thought the movie was better.

Thanks for all the good thoughts guys!! DS is outta commission for at least 5 weeks!! He has to go on disability and is not happy. I did once again offer him the pet sitting gig with cash!! He said he may do it. I told him to get back to me ASAP. I have hired a couple...but i would only need them for a few days, vs the entire time. So..lets see what happens.

I had a fun week with DD..suspended then expelled from camp!! But she has one more chance. I can't even begin to get into why!! :scared1: Let's just say that she doesn't react appropriately in certain circumstances...sigh.. :confused3 . Let's hope she can make it through her final 13 days in camp. Otherwise she is staying home with the grandparents while we cruise!! Do you think that is enough insentive??

Beth..glad to her that DDil and the grandbabies are all doing well!! How is Jim doing these days??

Wendy I hope you and Jasmine have great trip!!

I hope everyone is doing well!

I finally booked the rental cars (LAX and MCO) for our trip. I also found a hotel in LA, well Van Nuys. I had booked one near the airport..but I was advised that traffic is soooo bad in the mornings I should go North the night we get off the plane..so that is what I did.

I have all of the kids clothes and Hal's bought (Hal has lost like 75 pounds!! He is 5 sizes smaller then he was in December!!). Now I just need to get myself some new stuff...not just for the cruise..but I do need some stuff.
I got such great bargains at Kohl's for Rachel...she is gonna look so wonderful in the dresses we got her..and she loves loves loves dressing up!!
Even Paul loved the little slacks, shirt, tie and vest outfit he got.

I also have to figure out how everything will fit in 4 suitcases and 2 small carryons!! These airline restrictions suck for a 15 night cruise! DH and I took 3 big bags for the 7 night!! And yes I do plan on doing laundry..at least once.

Now I just have to make a list of the final things I know I need to get!! I am getting over whelmed!! I also want to finalize our excrusions and am not sure what to do...Hal is of very little help. Whatever you want dear!! OY MEN!!!

Beth..glad to her that DDil and the grandbabies are all doing well!! How is Jim doing these days??

Merryl: Jim is doing pretty well. He's depressed that he has no vacation time and my friend and I are starting to consider an early December cruise, if we can find a cheap one like ours last year. We can't book it until October, though, because I have to wait and see whether or not DDIL will be on strict bed rest in December. Because it's a high-risk pregnancy she may have to go on bed rest, and someone will have to stay home during the day. Hopefully everything will be fine and I can sneak away for a cheap cruise! Doesn't matter if it's Eastern or Western! My friend can't wait until after the babies come to try Disney cruising!

Congratulate Hal on his weight loss. Jim has lost about 20 pounds since then, because the extra weight causes his gout to flare up.

Don't forget to take tons of pictures and post them so that I can pretend I was able to go on the cruise with you! About the best trip I've taken so far this summer is out to the Monmouth County Fair last night and today. Tomorrow we're heading for the Mets game for our annual baseball trip, and then it's back to plain old ordinary Jersey Shore summer living!

Beth

Checking In.. I know it's been a while since I last said Hi.. :upsidedow

I don't have time to play the Ketchup Game right now.. We are going to go on an Airboat today and I am sooo excited.. :cool1:

I'm in Florida til August 19th.. My brother and his wife drove up last night from Key West.. Damien and his friend are here until July 31st.. We may even do a dinner show tonight.. Eiter Medevil Times or Arabian Nights princess:

My brother is recovering from a nasty broken ankle and won't be able to handle a park day so Airboats and Food work well for us.. ;)

Beth: So glad the twins and ddil are doing better :goodvibes

okies off I go for now

Hey, you guys shoulda told me you were going to the fair...its like 15 minutes from us! We coulda had a mini meet :). Today the fair I am sure was rained out. It was POURING here...my pool got at least 2 inches of extra water!!

Merryl--I thought about letting you know, and, of course, forgot, so I was going to call you (still have Hal's phone number for "rodent care"!). Of course, your phone number is in my cell phone, which was home. Maybe we can plan something else. We'd love to see you guys again!

Beth

It is a play and it is fantastic!

 When I opened the webpage for the Dallas Summer Musicals in BIG BOLD letters was "Jersey Boys". I've heard great things about it.

then it's back to plain old ordinary Jersey Shore summer living! Beth

:cool2: I'd give anything for a "plain old ordinary Jersey Shore summer". It has been over a 100 degrees with little wind. Our pool has been a great escape from the heat. Emily had soccer all last week in the evening. This week, Will has football and Emily has cheerleading in the evenings. Also, Will has tennis in the mornings. I just love sitting out in the Texas sun baking for the sake of our kids. :headache: At least I have a good tan. ;)

When I was little I always dreamed about living at the shore. Lots of the girls in my class had summer homes at the shore (I went to a private school and was the "poor kid in the rich school" so no summer home for me!). I even went so far as to pick out my dream house. I told my mother that some day I would go to parties there with lots of famous people! Fast forward about 40 years, and I did go to parties in that home, and there were a couple of governors and other politicians there. Even better, I live less than a half-mile away from that house. Of course, I don't live in anything like my dream house, but I do live at the shore!

It's been hot here this summer, too. We've had a lot of days over 90 degrees, and that's really unusual this close to the beach. Soccer doesn't start for my DGD until early September, so hopefully we'll miss the worst of the heat.

I miss the Dallas/Oklahoma City summers. :confused3 At least it was bearable. Here it is either raining or hot enough with humidity to be miserable outside. :headache: The only good tan here is sprayed on  ..... at least it can be all over with no lines!

Hey everyone!
We are just back from our "Once Upon a Fairytale" Adventure! It was totally awesome. :cool1: Our Adventure Guides were wonderful. As soon as we got home, Jasmine started crying because she missed everyone on the trip. We had 14 adult, and 15 kids. The kids were all between 6 and 15, and bonded immediately. It was a really special experience.

Pics after we unpack!

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. Can't wait for details and pictures.

Since I can't get away for a while, I have to live through everyone else's reports and pictures. I'm still hoping to be able to get away just after Thanksgiving, but I think I'll probably have to wait until at least six weeks after the twins are born. DDIL will probably be on complete bedrest from Thanksgiving until the birth, which will probably be C-section, which means a six-week recovery. I'll have to be here to help out during that time. I've already been approved to use some of my accumulated sick time for that purpose! She's wishing that she has New Year's Eve babies. Her "plan" is to have one delivered just before midnight on Dec. 31 and one just after midnight on Jan. 1. This way, the babies will be twins born in different months and different years! Of course, her actual due date is Feb. 6, so that's not really likely to happen. Jim is hoping for Jan. 7, which is his birthday.

Tomorrow afternoon Jim and I are going to the racetrack for the Haskell, which is one of the biggest races on the circuit here. We're going to watch Big Brown run. We usually don't bet on the races, but we both love horses and like to watch them run.

Everyone have a great day/weekend etc.!
