DIS Meet Dec 8 07

Thanks for the good thoughts and wishes. My DDIL is home again, a bit tired, but everything seems to be fine. It appears that the problem she experienced today was a result of some irritation caused by one of the procedures she had done the other day. They sent her home and told her that she doesn't have to stay on bed rest but that she shouldn't jump on any trampolines! I guess that's a good sign.

Beth

I'm so glad to hear the good news Beth! I know how scary that can be.

Wendy

Beth, I am so glad things worked out and DDil is home safe and sound!!

Okay, I finally had a chance to put together a quick blog for our Baltic cruise. No easy task with literally hundreds of photos to go through. :surfweb:

But I had to get this done, before our next trip!

Hope everyone's doing well, and enjoying the summer.

Taking a day trip to the Amish country region of PA tomorrow. Annette and I are scouting out places for our January conference. :thumbsup2

Happy Monday Everyone!! Hope you guys had a good weekend!!! Robby and I saw the new Batman movie on Friday, and it was AWESOME!!!!! :thumbsup2 I really recommend it.

:goodvibes Thank you for the link Wendy!!!!!! I somehow deleted this thread from my subscriptions and couldn't find it on the meet thread. The search on this site is TERRIBLE. I'm backkkkkkkkkkkkkkk! ;)

Robby and I saw the new Batman movie on Friday, and it was AWESOME!!!!! :thumbsup2 I really recommend it.
We want to see it. The previews look great and I heard great things about Heath Ledger as the Joker (:sad2: sad it was his last movie). Bill took Emily and Will to see Wall-E yesterday. They loved it and said it is a must to buy when it comes out on DVD. Cole and I stayed home and swam in the pool. He still won't sit through a whole movie in the theatre.

My DDIL is home again, a bit tired, but everything seems to be fine. Beth
I am so relieved your DDIL is okay. My heart sank when I read the other post. We will continue to pray for her throughout the pregnancy. :goodvibes

Jasmine found a Hidden Mickey on the street in Helsinki!
:thumbsup2 That sure is a hidden Mickey. Great find Jasmine!

:goodvibes Thank you Julie & Stefanie for the birthday wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

 Bill surprised me and took Friday off. We drove the kids to the sitter and then he wisked me off to a day at Six Flags WITHOUT the kids. It was great! :cool2: Hot, but great! The park was semi-empty when we got there. So, we rode all the rollercoaster first and then leisurely walked around the park. They are building the new Cowboys stadium within eyesight of the Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington, TX). So, Bill and I took the elevator up to the top of the observation tower. It was amazing to see how big the new stadium is going to be. Tina, If you and Robby ever want to come to Texas for a Cowboys game, let us know. We can get the tickets and all go together. :cheer2: We know how much Robby like the Cowboys. We left Six Flags around 3:30 (wanted to avoid the rush hour traffic in the area). Bill took me to one my favorite restaurants (Babe's Chicken Dinner House - Roanoke, TX). They have THE BEST fried chicken. They were even featured on a Food Network special on chicken restaurants. Yum! Yum! Then, he forced me to go pick-up the kids. Later after my belly settled from all the yummy chicken and fixings, he brought out my birthday cheesecake. Bill makes the best cheesecake (his Aunt's recipe). It was a wonderful day. Bill is VERY sneaky. I'm sure glad he uses his powers for good. ;) We don't plan to renew our WDW AP in December. We may get Six Flags Season Passes next year to help fill the void. After our trip to WDW in December 2008, we won't be back to WDW until December 2009. It's going to be strange not planning a trip to WDW. :rolleyes1

( Stefanie when was your birthday???????????)
party: Happy belated Birthday Stefanie! party:

I hope everyone's weekend started and ended better then mine!! Friday morning..1:30AM phone rings. I of course start to freak out..the only time the phone rings at that time of the morning is bad news..or a wrong number. Hal gets the phone, and it is DS24 gf. I am really freaking out now!! The first thing I ask Hal is if he is alive!! Hal is like yes..he wasn't in an accident..he is in alot of pain and they think it is a kidney stone!! Relief!! Ok, now we wait until GF calls us back to tell us what hospital they are going too. DS lives about 20 minutes west, and in another county. So at 2:30 AM I am driving to a hopsital I have never been too in Princeton!! Hal and DS were both afraid I would get lost!! MEN!!!! I followed the google directions and got there fine.

DS was feeling no pain..he wanted to take the IV home with him! He did have a stone, and they gave him pain meds, strainers and sent him home to wait it out! I got to bed at 5AM, boy was I pushed that day!! DS finally was better on Saturday night.

Sunday he calls me and tells me that he thinks he may have broken or sprained his pinkie. Well he did nothing about it until Monday, then by the time you get the appt to see the primary care, then the referral for the xrays..then it's too late to see the specialist!! DS came over around 5:30, we looked at the xrays, and it was obviously dislocated and fractured!! Thanks to DD12, we have a connection to the head of our local ER. She took care of his DD3 last summer on the camp bus, and he was literally eternally grateful. He said if we ever needed a favor to just call, and gave us all his numbers..including his private one. Thankfully we haven't had to use it, until now! We called and asked his advice, he said since he broke it 24 hours ago, he needs to be seen now, and to have him come into the ER, he will call ahead and a doctor will be waiting to see him!! Wow..I have been in that ER too many times to count..but the service today was exceptional!! DS has a soft cast up his arm!!!! It's the only way to keep the finger imobile. DS has to follow up with a hand guy this week, and may be out of work (he works for a contractor) for 4 weeks. He is also supposed to leave for Aruba in 2 1/2 weeks.

On top of that...before I took him to the ER, I had to pick up DD12 at camp because of a migrane...

Pass the vodka please!!!!!!! :scared:

OMG
Here you go girl have at it....

Sounds like how things usually are around my house. At least we all live together, so there's no running around when something happens! If you ever end up at Monmouth Medical Center (I hope not;)) let me know. I walk past there every day on my way home from work and will stop and visit!

DDIL had another episode of bleeding yesterday, but they found the cause and it's not pregnancy-related, other than being from the constant testing and examinations in "sensitive areas". The babies are fine, and now you can actually feel them when they start wiggling around. It appears that they don't like when she eats. I guess the food takes up room that they like to have for themselves. They get very active any time she takes more than two or three bites of food. They'll find out the genders in less than four weeks, and I'm really glad because I'm getting really tired of knitting little yellow, green and other gender-neutral color things!

Wendy and Jasmine: I can't wait to check out your blog and photos. My boss is out of the office today, so maybe I'll relax and have a cup of tea this afternoon and enjoy your trip!

Beth

Merryl - :goodvibes Thank you for my birthday wishes. Sorry to hear about your chaotic weekend. I hope your DS is feeling better and doesn't give you any more scares.

Beth - If your DDIL does continue to bleed for superficial wounds, will they put her on bedrest? Has she become anemic? I am glad it has been nothing internal and she sounds like she's doing well (besides the bleeding scares). Good luck finding out the sex of the babies. I know you are excited and ready to knit something pink or blue. :goodvibes Also, thank you for the birthday wishes. As you could read from my post, it was a GREAT day!

OK Jen we are going to an NKOTB concert on Oct. 19th in Dallas care to join us.....

Wow! NKOTB. That brings back memories. DH made fun of me when we moved in together (many moons ago), I had a box full of NKOTB fan club stuff and Guns N' Roses posters in the same box.:lmao: I went to see NKOTB in concert in Germany when I was a Junior in HS.

 When you mentioned they were coming in concert, I looked it up. I can't believe they're playing at the AA Center. That is a pretty big venue. Thanks for thinking of me. But, I saw them once and that was enough for me. ;) Now, if Guns N' Roses comes (with Axl), Bill and I will go to that! :thumbsup2

:goodvibes Have fun!

She hasn't become anemic yet, but her doctor has said that it's possible she may have to go on bed rest. I've already been cleared to work from home a couple of days a week if I have to, since someone will have to stay home during the day. My DS works rotating shifts and is frequently off during the day on week days, so it won't be too bad. I have plenty of sick days (around 200) and can use them to stay home if I need to.

Of course, that would give me a lot more time for DISing!
