DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
CT Scan tomorrow but if everything goes well at least a colostomy isn't in my future.

Prayers that you get good news!

What happened on FB? I crash to bed early and poof....drama? :rotfl2:

You know, I almost wanted to pipe in and tell him that if he had a problem with the content there, he should just come over here since this is more of a family friendly discussion area. But I figured at this point, his mind is made up, so do whatever floats your boat.

BTW, Looks like a certain conversation has been deleted from FB... I had a notification from that convo a few minutes ago, but just went to look at it and can't find anything.

Basically, a guy who never posted or participated in the group decided he didn't like the content and announced he was leaving and criticized the group on the way out.

I think he took the DIS Dad title literally and thought every conversation would be about Disney or being a dad. He didn't think of it as a clubhouse for guys with common interests to hang out. I can understand if a certain conversation bothers you or if you don't want to explain some of the photos to your wife, but I generally ignore that stuff and participate in the conversations where I have something to say. To me, you don't get to stand on the sidelines, refrain from participating whatsoever, and then complain about how the group operates.

So what conversation was deleted?

The post where he said he was leaving and the comments that followed. I had a notification this morning that there was a new post or a like or something, but it has all vanished from my notifications page and I don't see that post anywhere now.

I didn't expect that post to stay up there very long. To me I thought he just wanted to get it off his chest and say a final farewell... the group just wasn't for him.

Not sure I like that. Seems like it is quicker and easier from a TR standpoint to just upload them and grab the link and post. I never did any reformatting before I posted my pictures. This just seems like extra steps in the process, but I haven't really tried it yet.

Try it. There are more steps involved but they are instant and it is just clicking icons. You may be able to find a quicker way to do it. A big plus is I don't have to deal with Photobucket, wait for it to download, then copy the link. The drag and drop is a great feature. Granted what I did was just one picture not multiples in a trip report. Maybe I'll try to do multiples here of the Marathon trip to see how that works.

Just deleted the picture in my file and it is still here. Also like the idea it doesn't have to permanently reside on a secondary site that if touched is gone from the TR.

Mornin' all! The one inch of snow that was forecasted for overnight was actually 3 inches....:sad2:

So, guess who gets to push snow off of cars for the third day in a row! I hate winter. :cold:

'Morning all...
Just cheeking in. So what's up?

CT Scan tomorrow but if everything goes well at least a colostomy isn't in my future.

Then may everything go well.
Sorry your dealing with this.

Not looking forward to my up coming exam or the potential results either.
The worrying is the problem. Not worrying is difficult (for me at least).

Morning everyone

Hummm...
Got busy last night and didn't check in.
Guess I'll have to take a look later on this evening.

Well, maybe not then.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Good morning guys.

Nothing big here on the tundra. Finally, we got enough snow to go sledding.

Hey Sean, I hope all goes well today.

Morning everyone

Prayers and thoughts. Been thinking about this a lot and only wishing for the best results for you. Hang in there
You didn't miss much.
Oh well. I honestly think that the cold and snow and winter is making everyone just a bit loopy and edgy.

Loons like I missed a photo blitz too dammit. I'll see what I can do tonight. Staying far away from any drama. The boss will provide me more then my fill. Brought in to do work thismor ing while new servers get installed and it's preventing me to do anything I need to. Add missing yesterday she'll be fired up good lol.
I've got a kid home from school so I might have to do some blitzing today too.
Prayers that you get good news!

If he wanted posts of nothing but Disney he should have joined the "You Might be a Disney Addict If" page and all the drama that goes with it. Also, if you don't participate then you have no right to complain that you feel left out. And 75% of the stuff we post there is Disney related so I really don't get how his thong got twisted in the first place.

Stay strong. Spring and short short weather is coming.

Testing...

I don't know... I'm not sure it is going to be any quicker from a TR standpoint. I always try to type my updates in word so that I can save them and I just insert the PB links with the code in that document so all I have to do is copy and paste. Doing it this way for a TR could be a huge PITA, but it is nice for doing just a picture here or there.

His post was judgmental and of course people responded. Reminded me of what you see on other threads around here and on other boards. The guy never participated and he decided to write a long dissertation on why he was leaving and that we will not be privy to his non-participation anymore. I agree with Mark, why throw the grenade? If he decides to come over here, I would welcome him and encourage his participation. I kind of doubt he will though.

Now back off topic, A Priest, a Rabbi and an Evangelical Preacher walk into a bar...

Think I need to test as well. For me, it is way faster as I do the live trip reports. Post the picture & post my thoughts on why I took the picture. Usually, I get most of mine done in the morning or night when family is still asleep. But, I'm not a poet like many here.

Early AM waiting for Cape May ADR after 13 hour drive.

The bartender says "What is this, some kind of joke?"

So a bartender walks into a Church, a Synagog and a Temple. He then realized that he has no idea how to tell a joke.

:lmao:

Two guys walk into a bar...

The third one was smart enough to duck.

I just tried to do it like a TR and you are right, it could be a huge PITA. Will have to think about a better way to do it, maybe you can still use the PB links. I still want to avoid PB if at all possible though.

A screwdriver walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Hey, we have a drink named after you!"

The Screwdriver responds, "You have a drink named Murray?"
