Not sure I want it, but Monday morning ownage!

We're sitting outside our room at port Orleans French quarter right now looking over the river. Great place, our first time here.

POFQ is Alexandra's favorite. Our secret October trip for her B-day is there. We got upgrade to the river view once when we stayed there. It was very nice and relaxing. Continued wishes for FP+ supremacy and a great vacation.

Morning. Rough night, in a lot of pain with a toothache. Figures. Tried to catch up this morning, feels like I missed a lot of prayers to go out. Hope everyone's weekend's a good one.

Sorry about the tooth Brent. Hopefully you got it fixed and things are better now. If not, start drinking heavily this morning. It helps, really.

DW and I sat and schemed a bit last night to see if we could make something work with that free dining that was announced. Still not going to be a go, can't swing the extra cash. Good to know that she's that eager to go back. Also liking the news of the Trader Sam's coming to the Poly.

You can still come with us. Tell DW that you were kidnapped and are being help hostage at POFQ.:lmao::lmao: Looks like the FD is being offered on our day of arrival. Now I have to figure out if the BB deal is better or to go with FD. That's going to be a fun conversation with the CM over the phone.:headache:

Glad to hear you guys are having a great time Paul but I do agree with Scott. ;):lmao:

DS and his team lost both their ball games today. Declan chipped in with about 20 points, a bunch of rebounds, blocks and even a few steals. I was glad to see him play well with a team that certainly is the weakest he has played with in awhile. It was their first games together for a short spring season and the coaches did a lot of line juggling. 1 more game tomorrow for this tournament.

Sorry Declan lost the game, but it looks like he had some pretty good stats there. DD won 2 of 3 this weekend. Lost to a team in game 1 and then turned it around and beat them in the last game. DD had good games, but not great all weekend. She did go 10 for 13 from the foul line. :thumbsup2 For her age, that's pretty good.

DS won both baseball games on Saturday and played well. Yesterday we drove to Portland, ME. In the 5th inning, mother nature decided she was done watching baseball. We had 30 minutes of torrential rain, nickel sized hail and high winds. By the time it was over, the field was no longer playable and the game will have to be made up. 1-1 score after 5 and second game never started. Not happy drive 3 hours and not getting to finish the games.

Hunter made his 1st Communion today everything went Great:cool1:, we had a little party afterwards everything went smooth it was the daily double:thumbsup2

Congratulations to Hunter!

Good morning from Warsaw. Slept a whole 12 hours last night. I never do that, but I was in daddy mode for the middle flight so I only had an hour nap.

It was raining when we arrived so we didn't get to do much but relax. We are staying with friends here and then we head up north on Monday. We did have pizza for lunch and it was delicious.

Today we are going sightseeing in Old Town which was rebuilt after WWII to exactly the way it was before it was destroyed. Most of the areas we have seen still ring of communist design and blah effect. Looking forward to meeting our kids on Tuesday!

Hey David! Sounds like a good time so far. Have fun meeting up with the new family tomorrow.

FYI, this dude looks like Paul with a mustache...

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Just a note, 17 years ago today Yehaa Bob first took the stage at Riverside. Thinking we may visit him again this upcoming trip. If you haven't seen it, he puts on a great show.

We have plans in place for an August visit while we are there. Loved the show last time we went. DisDad approved!

May the 4th be with my fellow Disdads! In celebration I finally broke down and bought the saga, preparing to watch in Machete Order, 4,5,2,3,6 for the first time.

Hey, what about 1?:lmao::lmao: We watched them all over 2 days when DS was home sick this winter. Pretty good way to spend time when nothing else is going on.

Good morning guys. Me and DW are now waiting as DD was just taken to the surgery room. Gonna be a long haul for her this summer with rehab and no weight bearing for 6 weeks which means no driving. Gonna be 8-10 weeks before full weight bearing. Positive thoughts that all goes as planned today with her surgery. And remember, every Monday means 1 week closer to your next Disney trip.

Good luck and prayers to DD on the surgery.

The biggest struggle (from my experience) will be to get the muscle tone back after not putting weight on it for 6 weeks. I am 28 months from surgery and 20 months from not being able to put weight on my knee for 8 weeks and you can still see the difference in the muscle tone (of course I'm old so I'm sure it will be quicker for DD). Will she be allowed to bend the knee, stretch the muscles without weight bearing? I was not allowed to even bend my knee for 6 weeks.:worried: Hope it goes well and DD heals quickly.

20 days til our Non-Disney, Orlando vacation. This is quite confusing trying to figure out what to do without having to make ADRs or park-hop. :confused3

We did finally agree to make reservations for the Sleuths Mystery Dinner Show. Got a really good discount on tickets and figured why not? Emma is going to love it.

Hmmm.....Orlando and non-disney in the sam sentence. I don't understand?:lmao::lmao: Hope the mystery show is good and you have a great time.

Morning Guys,

Welcome the May 5th!

Declan's basketball team won their last game in the tournament yesterday and he was named player of the game. He played well all weekend, pretty proud of him and how much he has improved this winter.

We made it home in time for me to go play soccer in the pouring rain and today I feel like crap. Two games so far and not a nice night to play yet. That's the curse of playing on turf fields, the games are never cancelled except for lightning,

Going back to see if I missed anything, have a good one.

Congrats to Declan! Sorry about the rain, stinks.

Emma "won" her game on Saturday. Have to quote it since we are playing rec league and there is no official scorekeeping. But they managed to squeak in 2 goals and held the other team to zero goals. Emma played goalie first half and really didn't get to do much. We've been working on field positioning and passing a lot in the last few weeks at practice and it was seen in the game. Almost looked like they were corralling the other team into little herds around the field :rotfl2: I was a proud coach that afternoon.

Sounds like you've got a good little player there. Congrats to Emma and wishes for continued success.

Florida State Criminoles

Sorry CJ, that's pretty funny.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Random thought of the day: Does anybody else get the Aerosmith song, Livin on the Edge in their heads when they see reference to the Disney attraction Living with the Land? No? Just me?? Ok, sorry...

Been crazy busy around here lately...

It is spring, so I've been busy on the farm after work hours. In addition to that, my office job has been crazy as well. We have one employee who is currently in his 3rd week gone with a bad case of vertigo and an inner ear infection, and another has been in and out of the office the past 2 weeks and is having a heart cath this morning. I've been basically doing 3 peoples' jobs the past 2 weeks, which kind of sucks, but it feels good too. I've really been able to stay busy and feel like I've gotten a lot done when I go home at the end of the day.

So I live in the panhandle and I had to deal with all the rain from The other day. Now I am in a real Beverly position. My job is a job where we work 24/7. So when I got a call I was not surprised with the down pour I had to go in. What I didn't know is how flooded my neighborhood was. I made it to base and they would not let me on.... I should have gone with my gut and not tried to make it home. I decided to head home I made it to the entrance of my neighborhood and my car stopped working. I was just able to get it towed today to the dealership. After I waited to hear what happened to it. It turns out I have a hole in the bottom of my engine. Lucky me.

I'm gonna try to get the AF to reimburse me for the insurance deductible because if it were not for my job my car would be fine.

Now some pictures for your viewing pleasure the first few are of my neighbor hood where at one point in the center of the road it was up to my knees.
The others are of the area near me.
Wow! That sucks. I'm glad you're ok... I mean getting stranded in flood water could have ended up worse than that. Sorry about the car though. I hope you can get a little help with your deductible.

Really? You played on funky green carpet for years under a "roof" that couldn't hold a little bit of snow. Enjoy your next two years on that college field while your state tries to figure out how to pay for a billionaire to have a new revenue stream.

Yeah, I went there. And there. And that other one may cut a little deep, but yeah, I went there too. :thumbsup2
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: I don't have a dog in that fight, but that right there is funny.

I always hoped to have enough money to go to Millionaire's row. But, until then, i have my memories of the infield. I know you have the topless beaches, but I think the volume may be higher in the infield on a beautiful, warm Derby day.
I've always wanted to camp in Millionaire's Row at the Kentucky Speedway... :confused3 :rolleyes1

Yes, that is what I meant. The first car I bought was a manual. I still miss it. I tried to teach the wife as well; it didn't go that great. I wish I could buy one but it goes back to the fact that we share our cars.
The fact that my wife couldn't drive a stick would just be another reason for me to get one. :rotfl2:

Congrats to Declan for playing well. The losses aren't fun, but it sounds like the weekend ended on a high note.

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

it DOES look like Paul with a Mustache! Queue someone with a picture of paul and good photoshop abilities! :thumbsup2
I'm only disappointed that this hasn't been accomplished yet. I expect more from the Disdads. :rotfl2:

Very cool. We expect lots of pictures and stories here and on your blog. On Tuesday, tell the kids their Did Dad Uncles said hello. Or rather Cześć.
Yeah... whatever he said...

Evening all…
The praise band I play with worked a fundraise for underprivileged young’ens yesterday. They raised a decent amount from the locals (and us). Although someone thought it best to put our highly amplified progressive rock band in between a couple of crooners and two bluegrass outfits. Not quite what the small town locals were anticipating. We played well and even succeeded in getting the cops called on us.
I’ll chalk that up as a win.
The praise band got the cops called????? :crazy2: :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Well done, Rob, well done! :thumbsup2

Our church had a "Duck Dynasty" day yesterday. We're doing a study session from the movie God's not Dead and the lesson for Sunday school yesterday focused on the cameo by Willie Robertson. One of the singers in our praise band looks like Jase... I mean even when he's not trying. Yesterday when he was trying to look like Jase, it was just perfect.

I think my favorite part was when the praise band started playing "Sharp Dressed Man." :rotfl2::lmao: How often do you expect to hear ZZ Top played in a Baptist church??? :rotfl2:

Looks like fun. Even if you are crazy enough to go to Orlando and skip Disney. :crazy2:

I'd have a problem with being in Orlando and not getting my Disney fix somehow! :thumbsup2
The one time I went to Orlando for a week with no plans to go to Disney World, I ended up at DTD twice, the boardwalk twice and World of Sports once...

It is clearly impossible.

I took my wife to that movie for her birthday! ZZ Top is appropriate for all occasions.

Well, maybe the way those band members are dressed, it's either a subtle (or not) bit of irony at play or The pastor is trying to prod folks into sprucing up a bit on a Sunday morning.

You can't leave it there, can you? What a tease.

We just saw the Lego Movie this weekend so I think "Everything is Awesome" is going to crowd out all other music for a while. :sad2:

Clearly not often enough! Although I'd be stunned to hear "She's Got Legs" in church.

This. :thumbsup2

Looks like congratulations are in order for some, prayers for others, and bacon for all.

We survived the trip to the Regional Junior Bible Quiz despite having to stop on the way and have new plugs and wires in the car. I'm old enough that changing wires is a foreign concept. Wires used to be made of wire and not some carbon fiber junk. :headache:

DD took 24th overall individual which was excellent I thought though she was disappointed. DS didn't do well but he just lost the fire in the belly about half way through the year and it has been a struggle since. Thankfully he is done now. The team didn't do well but we just took the best quizzers we had and made them into one team and they never had practiced together. The coach (me) was another problem. I'm just not competitive enough to coach to compete at that level. I found out some of the coaches start out teaching the kids to read lips in first grade. :faint:

Can’t say as I do, but that’s not a bad tune to get stuck in you head.

The praise band got the cops called????? :crazy2: :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

::yes:: Yes… yes we did.

Funny thing is we’re generally louder than that indoors because of the way that the walls in our dungeon will throw the sound back at you. Honestly, considering “where” we were playing, I suspect the complaint was likely less about the decibels and more about that fact that we weren’t playing bluegrass.

It surely couldn’t have been about the lyrical content. :lmao:

Nice work on their part.
I’ve been able to perform tunes by the likes of Clapton, Robert Johnson, SRV and a fair number by U2 in various services over the years. Most folks appreciate things like that when done in the right context (and it’s always best to explain the context at some point). The problem always arises with the ones that don’t take time to understand the “why” behind the choice and focus in on the: “That’s not church music!” aspect of it. Generally speaking, those are also the folks that toss the most greenbacks in the offering tray so their demands immediately trump everyone else’s. That don’t mean we can’t do such things; it only means we have to space the instances far enough apart to only get piously re-reprimanded rather than summarily expelled.
:rolleyes1

Funny you said that, most 'church music' were reworked songs from saloons and bars in the day. Writers were hoping to get the masses into church by playing popular music they would recognize.

You guys seem to play in Portland on a regular basis. Are they in the same conference as your son's team?

I love the duckblind. :lmao:

First trip was with DD for a hoop tournament. This one was baseball with DS. Yes, they are in our conference. There are actually 2 teams from Maine. The other is in Sacco and we head there in 2 weeks.:headache: Not sure why we have to be the ones traveling. We have a turf field that is awesome. Yesterday was the second time we had to drive 90 minutes and have the field be an issue. Both times due to rain/weather. If they had come to our field we could have played all 4 games. Let's just hope the rain will hold off the next time.

This weekend is close for both. 5 minute drives to our home courts and fields.:cool1::cool1:

You are correct sir!
But folks who believe their money makes them a better person then you…
Generally don’t care much for history. :rotfl:

Nothing’s changed. That's precisely what we’re still doing anyway. A great number of the pieces we play in any one contemporary service are simply an appropriate lyric laid over top the music from some other pop or rock song. For us, the quickest way to learn a lot of the newer ones is to first figure out who they stole the changes from. Yesterday’s service included music by the Allman Brothers, and Prince. With new sets of lyrics of course.

At least Saco is a bit closer than Portland and you do get to pass right by those discount liquor stores in New Hampshire. :lmao:

Hello, my name is Brian and I...

That seems too much like an AA meeting in a movie, let me do this differently.

I absolutely love Disney. I always liked going to Disneyland, but since I had kids, it has become far more fun! We make it to Disneyland about once a week, and we have scheduled our first Disney World trip for this June. This trip brought me to the DIS boards where I eventually stumbled into this corner of the DIS boards. After a couple of weeks hanging out in some of the games on this forum, I finally decided that I should post here just so I don't look like a lurker.

So I guess I should say a little about me. I am married and we have a two year old son, four year old daughter, and a fifteen year old (step) daughter. We live in a little town in Southern California's Inland Empire called Moreno Valley. Both me and my wife are Middle School teachers which is great because we have the same vacations as our kids have (or will have.) There is not much to say... Life is great!

Hi Brian :wave2: Thanks for sharing... I mean, Welcome to the club! Sounds like you make the cut... I hear dues are to be sent to Norm... he eventually does something with them :lmao:

Toothache turned to a full blown abcess. On antibiotics to get the swelling down. I feel I look like Sloth from Goonies :rotfl2: At least some of the pain is gone. It just never ends around here. :rotfl2:

Just waiting to retrieve Audrey from Sparks, I lucked out though Blazing Saddles is on AMC.

Well we tried anyways. Maybe if I cut out the cottage, it could work, but I really need an "away from civilization" type vacation. Was going to be time away with Dad, I want to honour that. Besides, she would be PEEVED if she wasnèt kidnapped too....:rotfl2:

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You mail enough to me and then I mail them out to everyone else. My retirement dreams are to move to Florida and go to WDW every day. 10 more years out .....
