The biggest struggle (from my experience) will be to get the muscle tone back after not putting weight on it for 6 weeks. I am 28 months from surgery and 20 months from not being able to put weight on my knee for 8 weeks and you can still see the difference in the muscle tone (of course I'm old so I'm sure it will be quicker for DD).. :

For me, the only muscle tone I have left is enough in my arm to lift a beer to drink.

Random thought of the day: Does anybody else get the Aerosmith song, Livin on the Edge in their heads when they see reference to the Disney attraction Living with the Land? No? Just me?? Ok, sorry... .

DD took 24th overall individual which was excellent I thought though she was disappointed. DS didn't do well but he just lost the fire in the belly about half way through the year and it has been a struggle since. Thankfully he is done now. The team didn't do well but we just took the best quizzers we had and made them into one team and they never had practiced together. The coach (me) was another problem. I'm just not competitive enough to coach to compete at that level. I found out some of the coaches start out teaching the kids to read lips in first grade.

Congrats to the offspring. I can't believe you didn't coach the children to cheat. Is there a bible verse that explains that?

That sounds like a good evening right there. We have yet to visit TOTWL. Will have to pencil that in the plans for the next WDW trip.

It is really cool. I don't care much for the lounge, other than to get a beer. But the view on the terrace is amazing, and they pipe in the music. Then, it is just an easy walk back to the MK for a bus ride back to the resort. Great view without the crowds.

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You mail enough to me and then I mail them out to everyone else. My retirement dreams are to move to Florida and go to WDW every day. 10 more years out .....

Right now I am thinking about what a Dole Whip would look like after a week in transit... That would be smelly!

That seems too much like an AA meeting in a movie, let me do this differently.

I absolutely love Disney. I always liked going to Disneyland, but since I had kids, it has become far more fun! We make it to Disneyland about once a week, and we have scheduled our first Disney World trip for this June. This trip brought me to the DIS boards where I eventually stumbled into this corner of the DIS boards. After a couple of weeks hanging out in some of the games on this forum, I finally decided that I should post here just so I don't look like a lurker.

So I guess I should say a little about me. I am married and we have a two year old son, four year old daughter, and a fifteen year old (step) daughter. We live in a little town in Southern California's Inland Empire called Moreno Valley. Both me and my wife are Middle School teachers which is great because we have the same vacations as our kids have (or will have.) There is not much to say... Life is great!

They sell both of ‘em here, and yah, they’re pretty similar.
Neither is particularly good, but they are certainly similar.

20 days til our Non-Disney, Orlando vacation. This is quite confusing trying to figure out what to do without having to make ADRs or park-hop.

We did finally agree to make reservations for the Sleuths Mystery Dinner Show. Got a really good discount on tickets and figured why not? Emma is going to love it.

We'll be there just a couple of weeks after you for OUR Non-Disney, Orlando vacation but not having park passes doesn't mean that we won't be going on Disney property. There is so much to do around the resorts and DTD that we have a blast even without the parks. That includes making ADRs somewhere on property, we just haven't figured out where we want to go yet.

If you go to DTD - get there early, or else you'll have a hard time finding a place to park.

My in-laws were there last week and got there early enough to get a parking spot....they said later in the day it was a mess to get in there.

I guess that the construction is in full swing now. I had totally forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder Scott.

Good morning guys. Me and DW are now waiting as DD was just taken to the surgery room. Gonna be a long haul for her this summer with rehab and no weight bearing for 6 weeks which means no driving. Gonna be 8-10 weeks before full weight bearing. Positive thoughts that all goes as planned today with her surgery. And remember, every Monday means 1 week closer to your next Disney trip.

Hope the rehab goes as smoothly as possible.

Declan's basketball team won their last game in the tournament yesterday and he was named player of the game. He played well all weekend, pretty proud of him and how much he has improved this winter.

Congrats to the player of the game.

About seven-ish hours to the Florida line from there (depending on the warp drive capabilities of the vehicle of course).
