DCL Summer 2017 Megathread - Itineraries are out!

I think that if things were really that bad the would open up the discounts to more then FL residents and Military.

I don't think things are great either. There are TWELVE cruises with FL resident rates right now!!! The only one that interests me (7 night eastern on Fantasy) I can't go on due to travel soccer tryouts for my daughter :(
You usually dont see discounts in the Summer so if they start throwing out a lot of discounts this summer its probably a indication that they're out pricing people.

They offer GT rates. Disney doesnt like to offer good discounts to the public. Ive been on sailings that were about 80% capacity.

I get what you all are saying. Truly, I do. I'm sure we'll someday book a cruise line other than DCL, but we're sticking with them as long as possible. Looking forward to our 2017 Alaskan Cruise. We'll be booking as soon as we can...whenever that is ;)!

From your lips to Mickey's Ears. I hope you are right! ;)

Which ship/date? We're booking the Vista for 6/3/17, southern Caribbean. 8 nights in connecting insides for 4 people, only $5200 including gratuity and insurance. We're doing the Vista this 6/3 as well

You were the second person yesterday to suggest the Vista! We're doing the Sunshine out of NYC. But I did look into the Vista this coming November after the 2 suggestions yesterday (in place of my existing DCL Cruise this Oct). The timing didn't work out (over T'giving) and I wasn't in love with the remaining staterooms. Maybe 2018!

I keep telling myself that DCL's taking so long to release new dates because they're working on some exciting new itineraries and ports!

I think the same thing. Maybe they are trying to add Cuba or Asia to the itineraries?

I doubt Disney could go into Cuba right now -- that is still limited. Asia would be nice, but it might depend on what the port fees are. I don't think we'll see a drastic change in itineraries until the new ships come out and they have more options to place the ships.

This ship has sold very well. Its slim pickings for rooms on most of the sailings.

So I was hoping they would announce the new itineraries today, with releases tomorrow and Thursday. Does anyone remember if they make their announcements at a certain time of day? I'm tied up checking my email over and over again. Not very productive, lol!

I'm seriously considering the Vista now!

I feel like it has been by now that they have released the itineraries in the past. I'm pretty sure it was in the mornings.

That's what I was afraid of....
I guess we'll have to wait another week.
I can't stand the anticipation!!!!!

The longer the wait, the more convinced I am that they overpriced this summer. Especially if we have to wait until April 27. I eagerly awaited the release of this summer and saw that the starting price for my family for the Baltic in 2016 was exactly what the unsold 2015 rooms were going for at this time last year. A 20% increase over opening day and we would have done DCL this summer, but a 60% increase over opening day was laughable, especially when 2015 hadn't sold out. Instead, we ended up taking a Spring Break tour with Tauck Bridges instead (and unfortunately for Disney, the kids loved it), which was actually more expensive than DCL (but cheaper than Adventures by Disney), but a better value for us.

They aren't coming up with mindblowing new itineraries. Amsterdam is showing up only a couple times. The only reason to wait until after PIF dates is if prices for next year are lower. If they start even higher than 2016, we will cancel our OBBs and do another Tauck trip instead.

Ugh, I'm anxiously awaiting Alaska 2017.....have been checking out Royal's Explorer of the Seas, NCL's Pearl and Carnival's Legend and I gotta say....they are tempting me to book......eep! But I wanna snort the pixie dust, too :scratchin

I've been waiting to sail to Alaska for like 6 years! I've been waiting for my kids to be a little older so that they could go on more excursions there. Seriously, just take my money already, DCL!

I'm actually booked on two sailings of the Vista myself, for Christmas break and one in June of 2017.

Question. I am also looking to book a trip for the first week of Nov. 2017- I'm debating between the new RC Harmony or the Disney Fantasy. I can get a balcony cabin on the RC for two for 2800 plus some good perks such as free grats and a $190 OBC.

Do you think Fantasy can compete with that price...being that it's not during "prime time"?

This question is not just meant for you Ofinn...as I just wanted to comment on the Vista...but anyone who know about Fantasy pricing, please advise...

TIA

Wait and see - but again I don't think I ever saw so many discouraged comments. Hopefully a bad year was a reminder of financial reality.

Check out post #5 here for opening day 2016 pricing. Early Nov, 2 adults, cat 5 = $3600+

http://www.disboards.com/threads/op...-sept-dec-magic-wonder-dream-fantasy.3411411/

If you book through Costco, you can get roughly $280-$300 back. Plus of course, if you have an OBB, the price will be lower. Love the Fantasy!

I checked Costco...almost exact price, also $190 OBC, but no free grats...so RC Online was actually a better deal. I"ll check post 5, thx...seems like Fantasy will be considerably more.

Well, I think I just answered my own question..just did a search for first week of November 2016 and balcony cabins start at 4253...so not even close to the RC prices. Ugh! That is way too much for a non holiday week for just 2.

Sorry - the $280-$300 is the cash card Costco would give you on a DCL sailing (seems to run roughly 8% or so). But yes, RC will probably be a better deal.
