DCL Summer 2017 Megathread - Itineraries are out!

I think everyone is going crazy and emailing TA's constantly. This is the first sentence from the email I got from my TA yesterday (who knows I am waiting on October 2017) "I know we are all patiently waiting for the release to happen. I know it will most likely NOT be this week, although this month looks good." She also said later on "Disney may only release cruises as far as September, I have no idea with this release since it is so late already if it may go all the way through to December". So we will see (I'm personally hoping they wait to release october to december so its not as crazy for me to try to book october opening day lol). I'm sure the TA's are taking more heat than anyone with people getting antsy waiting so long for release dates.

It's getting frustrating for me now. I am looking at other plans for 2017 and I feel like I am stuck waiting to see what DCL will have since I know that will take a lot of money. At some point, I'll probably just give up and plan to not book anything for DCL next year.

We have a family of 5 and I called RCL this morning as they are having a BOGO sale. I got a quote for 2 connecting balcony rooms for $5,700 on the Oasis out of port canaveral. Does that seem like a good deal? Free gratuities as well! (I am not-so-patiently waiting for DCL release)

What time of year? Im pretty sure 2 balcony room on the Fantasy will be thousands more. You could get a room that sleeps 5 on the Fantasy. Depending on time of year. It could be a 1k more or double. Did you check out the suites on the Oasis I was wondering how they compare in price to 2 balconys.

AND free gratuities -- I think that's not only a bargain, it's a steal for 2 balcony rooms. You won't come anywhere near that price on DCL. You might get ONE oceanview for that rate, but not 2 balcony.

I agree......I booked it! The balcony room for a family of 5 was only a few hundred dollars less than getting 2 balconies (connected on deck 11)...but you only get free gratuities for the first 2 guests, so by booking 2 rooms, we have 100 more sq feet, double the balcony space, and only have to pay for 1 person's gratuity. This is for an Eastern Caribbean going to San Juan the first week of November 2017

We are rapidly approaching this point.... next week we'll be able to book airfare to Japan in April which was our other big trip option for 2017. We want a specific flight itinerary so we won't wait on booking it... if the itineraries aren't out then our choice will be made for us.

Sounds like a great deal and we loved San Juan.

Please share what you did in San Juan. The Carnival cruise I just booked for 2017 (notice a theme here?) stops there, but it's one of the late stops 3-11 PM. With a young child (4) I'm not sure exactly what to do there if we won't be going to the beach...

Not sure how late they run -- you can probably google the San Juan tourism site -- but we took the jitneys from the port to each of the forts. We were there in December and it was very hot, but we had a great time. Thought the city was very pretty and clean, and the people were very nice. But we arrived early morning and were back on board by 1 p.m. however, the jitneys go all through the historic districts, and it's a good way to see the city. If I remember right, they were free.

You guys should all email DCL and tell them you got tired of waiting and booked with another cruise line. They have to realize that by waiting to see their prices people are missing out on opening day prices on other cruise lines.

Yes, let's deluge them with emails. Seriously -- I think Disney takes it's passengers for granted anyway!

Just in case they're reading, here's another ship jumper. Just booked a 2017 Europe cruise on another line. No guarantees that Disney was going to do that route on those dates, but I'm ready to move on with my planning.

And......I just put a 48hr hold on an Alaskan sailing on the Carnival Legend. I realize DCL will not release their dates now in the next 48hrs but having a hold on another cruise might be the push we need to get to Alaska in 2017....

waiting for release dates for 2017 as well for either panama or alaska. We did alaska last summer and it was wonderful. if we have a graduation to go to next year, then alaska it is again, if not, then panama!
