Anyone know how they pick the music for each pair of dancers? Apolo's tango music was just silly! I said to my kids, "they're going to do a TANGO to Jesse's Girl!?!" WTH!

It also seems to me that Ian can't win for losing. No matter what he does, he gets criticized (and not too nicely quite a few times). While he's not as good as Apollo and Laila, I think he's better than they're letting on. I think his main problem is that he's dancing with Cheryl, and there's no way they're letting her do really well this season. JMHO

On one episode last season, they explained how they got the music. After the results show, each team is handed a CD with the song(s) and told which type of dance they will do. The teams do not have any say on which songs or dances they will perform.

I agree that sometimes the songs and type of dance really don't match!

I thought it was cool that they did the tango to Jesse's Girl!

Yes, Bruno's "it's crap" comment was too far - and he knew it as soon as he said it. Who among us hasn't accidentally voiced a thought that we knew we shouldn't have?

But the reality is - Billy Ray's dancing IS crap. And Billy Ray is a jerk. He's more than a jerk, but that's the harshest word I can use on the DIS. His antics with Muhammed Ali - for goodness' sake, the man has Parkinson's, he's not mentally deficient. That was so patronizing.

And every single performance, Billy Ray abandons his dance partner to run around the room waving his arms and begging for more applause. Tacky tacky tacky. At least he has stopped throwing clothes at the audience (he never could hit the balcony anyway).

I read a review from a fan who was in the studio audience the week they did the group swing - he said that Billy Ray constantly came out during commercial breaks to play to the crowd and get them to cheer for him, and that everyone seemed annoyed. Tom Bergeron had to tell him to get offstage at one point.

I hope and pray he is GONE tonight.

I totally agree with you! Throwing items to the crowd, waving his arms after his dances....he's a fool....and he looks like one too. I can't even watch when he "dances"....it's too painful.

While I agree about the tango, I wonder what else they could have done with that music.

I agree that song was not right for a tango.
I thought that the song Ian got for his Latin dance was too slow.

I feel sorry for Ian because he and Cheryl just don't have chemistry. It doesn't seem like she likes him. I remember seeing her beam when she looked at Emmitt and Drew.

i agree with Ian's song lastnight. i didn't know that was supposed to be a "slow" dance.

and i agree, again. they just don't have chemistry at all, those two.

I didn't take Billy Ray's "antics" with Muhammad Ali to be bad at all. Laila just said that her dad enjoyed it and I would think if I was in the shape that he is in I would want people to act as normal as possible to me. For example, my grandmother is bed ridden and cannot speak (she has a form of dementia).
But there are times when she seems to understand a little of what is going on.....so we talk to her all the time just like we would if she was able to communicate back with us. We don't know what she knows, but if there is the slightest chance that she understands, we want her to feel a like a part of the family (like always). That is just my opinion as someone who has a family member with a disease like this.

Anyway, I do believe that it is time for Billy Ray to go home!!

And speaking of picking on someone, I don't mean to pick on you Tigger1 but ...


... why are you voting for Billy Ray? I don't mean it flippantly or in a mean way. I really want to know why people vote for him. Do you think his dancing is up to par with the other people in the contest? Does his dancing even matter to you or do you vote for him for other reasons? Inquiring minds need to know .

I started off voting for billy ray, Ian,Leeza and John equally....when leeza got voted off I still voted for the others...The last 2 weeks I have just voted for Billy because I wanted him to get his 8 so he can be happy and then go home...plus its not like Idol where they are looking to be professionals...its for charity and for fun..

BTW I know he isnt great...but he tried hard and he is fun to watch...plus he is so cute

now.....i know i'm not a huge Joey fan......but really......Ian should have been in the bottom with Billy Ray. this is just stupid now. after that whole "fiasco" with the judges votes yesterday, i'm wondering about the voting process now.
