Link to next week 4/8 http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=17960329#post17960329

Upon recommendation from several Dis'ers, we are starting a "new" CVS thread that will be a weekly thread. Each week a new thread will be started with the next dates deals. **Any limits posted are either reported from other members or actually in the CVS ad. If I "test" a limit, I will post confirmed limit after the item. Some limits CAN be regional. My location is in central MA, so keep this in mind when I post a confirmed limit.

You can sign up for your Extra Care Card by asking for one in the stores or clicking on this link: http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/extracarehome and signing up online (usually takes up to 2 weeks to get your card in the mail vs. starting immediately in the store). You can also read terms & rules on same website.

Basically the card works like all the grocery stores. You need the card to get advertised sales. But you can also earn Extra Care Bucks (ECB's) by purchasing certain products. You earn a flat 2% on all sales (this is on the actual amount you pay OOP) but certain products are advertised as getting back ECB's and these products either cost little or end up free after ECB, sometimes you can even make money. For example: if Viactiv Viatamins are on sale for $5.99 and they are offering $5.99 back in ECB's the item is free. Usually these specials are limited to 1 or 5 offers meaning you can only buy that many and still get back the ECB's.

You can use mfg. coupons on top of sale prices, even if they are giving you back ECB's for the full amount of the product. So using the Viactiv example above, if you have a mfg coupon of $1.00 off you can use it at the time of purchase and after ECB's you will have a $1.00 profit. You can combine 1 CVS coupon & 1 mfg coupon per item in your transaction.

Your ECB's print 2 days after the initial transaction or your next visit, whichever one comes 1st. You can get online to check your balance and print out your ECB's from home as well but many recommend making sure that your own local CVS will accept the home printed ECB's vs. the ones printed out on receipt paper. Some CVS’s are also installing a printer in the store so you can just print them there upon entering the store.

Your 1st sale or even your 1st couple depending on what you purchase are usually the big cost. After that you roll your existing ECB's onto you next purchase and paying nothing or very little. The last couple transactions I have had ended up costing me OOP around .11 and .38 after using ECB's and I will be replenishing those ECB's with what I bought.

You will not get change back from ECB's so make sure you use all of it when spending. If you purchasing 2 separate items (like deodorant & shampoo) that have ECB's on them you will get back 2 separate ECB's - 1 for each item. BUT using again the Viactiv example from above - limit is 5 - if you purchase 5 in 1 shot, you will get back 1 ECB for 29.95 so if you want smaller increments, spread your transactions out over the week. Same items purchased in the same day are grouped into 1 ECB.

Some other helpful websites:
http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/extracarehome
http://deals.families.com/cvs,f533
http://www.terismessageboard.com/showthread.php?t=13237

This is my understanding: points = the # of transactions you have done for that type of item. Pick up 3 prescriptions - either together or separate = 3 points. Now you get $1 ECB for every 2 prescriptions so you have earned 1 ECB so far and 1/2 way there to a 2nd ECB.

Another example - I purchased 3 colgate totals on 2 separate trips. When I look at my statement it reads:
2/25/07 TOTAL ADVANCE (3 Points) description: FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH '07 PURCHASE TOTAL TOOTHPASTE ADVANCE CLEAN AND EARN $2.99 IN EXTRA BUCKS I have received 2 ECB's back on this - 1 for $2.99 & 1 for $5.98

If there is a limit - which most of the time there is - if you purchase over the limit it will not show any additional points under your balance. Receipts have been printing out at the bottom of the receipt now: This weeks Extra Buck Offers with a Balance. So when you purchase something with ECB's at the bottom of the receipt it will say: Listerine Buy 1 get $2.99 EB then it will tell you how many you have purchased under the balance column and then it will print *offer limit reached - if you have fulfilled that ECB. If you can purchase more of that item and get ECB credits it will not print the *offer limit reached - statement.

Public service annoucement-winter ECB's are now available online. :)

Wow - this is great information. I just looked briefly at the flyer and looks like some good buys this week.

Thanks for putting all this together!:wizard:

Just to give everyone a heads-up, I went to CVS this morning to get some ECB items and the cashier told me as she was ringing me up that the EBC for the items I was buying today would print today. Sure enough, they did. She said you no longer have to wait the 2 days for them. Later, I went to another CVS to get some things for my mother, and hers printed as well.

Yesterday I popped in, scanned my card (not expecting anything...) and out popped $5.99 in EBs! And had the $5 off $15 coupon...$19 worth of stuff for $6!!!

Went in today...scanned it again, ANOTHER unknown $5.99EB plus $2 EB! Grabbed that $5 off $15 in todays paper...stuff rang up to $40, w/ EBs, coupon and MFG coupons, only $20 !! Plus I got $20 in EBs on my receipt!!!!
(we did need everything...except the lipstick! If I hadn't bought that it would have been $30 down to $10, and only $10 EBs on receipt...but hey, it was my birthday last week! I deserved it!)

I cannot BELIEVE this place...we just got a CVS a couple of months ago, and I just got hooked a month ago. I am VERY careful not to get drawn into ALL the EBs items...but anything we use, hey, I'm there! (and be careful w/ your thinking of the EBs...hey, I got all this stuff for $xx after EBs, AND I earned $xx in EBs, so it's like it is free....I just do the figuring WHEN I use them...still, terrific deals!)

Where did you get the 5/15 coupon? Also, does anyone know if there is a March long deal for Free items?

Sorry - dumb question: What do you mean by "reported" monthly deals? Reported by Dissers, but not actually in print anywhere?

I have not personally seen these posted in my CVS or in an ad yet but I also did not go there today (April 1st which would be the start of these deals). I also participate on another forum that is CVS exclusive and some members there saw these posted on signs in their stores with the dates of April 1-30. I like to give people a heads up when I hear something but I don't want to say it is so until I have seen or tried it. Alot of the times if I hear something I will post it and then add a "ETA comment saying that it worked for me"

Personally I did the Irish Spring & Pantene deals and saw the bundles for Secret & Listerine in my stores so I know these to be true. As far as April deals, I cannot say with 100% certainty what is working/will work until I see signage or test them.

Just a heads up...I stopped at CVS yesterday and purchased the Neosportin ($1 ECB) and the Softsoap Nutra-Oil body wash ($4.49 ECB) AND the ECB for those items printed immediately on my receipt. :cool1:

Has anyone received their triple bucks from the coupon that they ran from Feb. 1st thru March 15th? The triple bucks were to be credited April 1st, and they are not there??

Kim

can someone email the coupon for the ALMAY lipstick please?? As usual, I cannot print coupons here at work and my home computer is messed up as well so I can't print them there either.. =( my email is madbailoATtdsDOTnet
