CVS ECB deals - Weekly Thread (4/1-4/7)

Yes, you can use a manufacturer coupon, cvs coupon and ECB's. Only one CVS coupon per item though I believe. At least here it is.

Ok, here's a stupid question. Can you use a manufacturer's coupon and a CVS register tape coupon on the same item? I went today to pick up a few things and a coupon for kotex printed out and it made me wonder if I could, in effect, use 2 coupons for one item.

Thanks!

I've read where others have but I tried that on the Colorsilk this week and they wouldn't take the CVS coupon because I had a Mfg's coupon. Oh well!

I just got back and felt bad, the register died in the middle of the transaction so she had to rering everything! Then it kept beeping at my ECB's. She ended up ringing one item seperately to use both because she couldn't get it to work. I asked to begin with if we needed to do that but she said it always takes as many as possible as long as you have spent that amount! Weird!

My new ECB printed immediately. Can't believe the softsoap deal, if so I'll get another! It smelled really good.

Can anyone give me the CVS phone # from their card? Mine was stolen today and I want to see what they can do about resetting my ecbs on another card.

My ECBs also printed out immediately!! YAYYYY!! Now I don't have to go print them out on my computer and get dirty looks from the CVS ladies...

Wow! I can understand the Maybelline because you do pay a little, but the Softsoap. It ends up being FREE! Time to stock up.

Softsoap Cashmere or Nutra Oil only
Pulsar Pro Health Toothbrushes
Crest Natural Expressions 6.0 oz
Listerine Tooth Defense
Maybelline

All 5 deals are limit 5 (I have purchased all of the above in those increments and gotten back all ECB's) All except the Maybelline are FREE or money makers with coupons (I MADE $12 on the Softsoap deal!!!). Maybelline depending on what you purchase cost is $1 after ECB - I got the eye shadow duo's (3.99 on sale) - FYI the xpress nail polish in the same display does NOT work for ECB's

The store you went to is wrong. Per corporate you are allowed 1 mfg coupon AND 1 CVS coupon per transaction and ECB's are supposed to be treated as cash! Sometimes I will throw in a pack of gum or another .99 item as a cushion but you could buy 10 items and use a total of 20 coupons (10 of each) and pay the difference with ECB's. I also make sure that if I have a $4 off $20 or $3 off $15 coupon that I give that to them 1st before any other coupons as the mfg coupons may bring my total under the specified amount on the coupon.

Please let us know what they do. I read on another board that with the instant ECB's they will not reset any of the NEW ones. They can reset the old ones still but not the new ones. Once they expire they are gone :scared1:

Is this good this week only? How do you find out the limits (other than the Dis boards?)

Also, does anyone know of any online coupons for Goodnights -- they are on sale for $8.99.

I bought the Softsoap cashmere a few weeks ago for some ECB deal. We have been using it. I think it smells like Play-doh! Every time I wash, I feel like I am rolling in Play-doh. Does anyone agree????

I am heading off to do my ECB deals today.

Maggie

OK - went last night with my HUGE pile of coupons, ECBs, etc. All went very well, but some of the ECB deals didn't work for me. Now I have a few things to return.

Does anyone know if I have to go back to the CVS I purchased from to make the returns? Or can I just go anywhere? Also, what happens with a return when you used a mfr coupon for it?

Thanks all!

Oh, the ECB deals that did work printed instantly. very cool!

Am I doing something wrong? The Softsoap is showing up as limit 1 for me--I checked the ad and it says limit one as well. Are there two separate offers?

What deals didn't work & where are you located?

I have returned a couple items at the same store I purchased them at and they did not even look at the coupon section of the receipt. They re-rang in the item and refunded the amount of the item. IMO even if you used a coupon they should refund the total amount because they would still have your coupon and now they would have the item too (you wouldn't get your coupon back) If you used ECB's to pay for your order and paid OOP less than the item they are supposed to put the amount onto a CVS store card (that is the corporate policy). Not sure how the store would handle a return from purchases made in another store...

Let's see, the Listerine Tooth Defense did not work nor did the Pulsar or the Crest. They also don't show on the ECB Offer section of the receipt (that section only reflects Nabisco, Mennen, Mitchum and Softsoap).

I shopped in Staten Island, NY yesterday. And, thank you so much for the info about the return!

Thank you! :goodvibes I got the correct crest and listerine (I see from my online acct that I benefited from this offer last month), but not the Pulsar. Also, my weekly ad does not mention the ECB offer for the Pulsar, just that they are on sale for $5.99, doesn't mention the Crest either.

I so appreciate your constant guidance here. I'm a newbie, but I'm sure I'll get it sooner or later (I hope)! For now, thank goodness they have a return policy.;)

Probably a stupid ?, but I'll still ask
I see a lot of you use manufacturers coupons. Where do you get most of them, the Sunday paper insert? Or mostly online?
I quit collecting coupons years ago, but when I see all your great deals, I'm tempted to take it up again.

I personally:
Buy the Sunday Paper (get most here) - My family in general collects coupons so what we do is we all get the Sunday paper. My uncle, grandmother, and father all cut out the coupons they will personally use and pass on the rest to me. I cut out all remaining coupons! I keep some and leave the rest up for grabs - trade online with others, give to other family & friends, etc. So if you know your sister, mom, etc. get the paper but toss the coupons, ask them to save them for you - now you have 2 of everything, etc.

Always check out the little blinking machines in stores (coupons are nicknamed blinkies). Usually these coupons are good for at least a month if not a few months and alot of the times I find that they put the machines up when that product is either on sale or will be on sale in the next week or so. They generally do not have to be used at that store either - they are usually mfg. coupons so you could take a couple from Shaws and use them on CVS sales.

CVS will have store specific coupons that you can stack with mfg coupons AND mfg coupons - usually in CVS I will walk the aisles looking at different products that I purchase on occasion. Makeup products will have "peelies" or pads that you tear a coupon off attached to them, sometimes the coupons are just literally sitting on the shelf and not in a bin. Check endcaps for displays - sometimes they will put them there.

Last resort I will buy them from E-BAY if it is a profit on the merchandise. I belong to Pinecone Research and they deposit $5 every time I complete a survey. I have it direct deposited so it goes directly into paypal. This money is basically my found money account. I don't make alot but I use it to purchase coupons with so the money isn't coming out of my pocket - bank account - and further my savings that way. Things like this weeks softsoap special I purchased (10) 1.50/1 coupons off ebay and paid $1.40 with shipping. I made $12 purchasing the softsoap so it WAY offsets the cost. This is 1 of the reasons I love to find out about the next weeks sales - so I can coupon gather early enough to take advantage.

I'm 97% Sunday paper, 3% online from Grocery Game link. For just about 5 weeks now I've been saving the coupon inserts (labeling each set with the date of the paper) and I go through them when my GG list comes out. Many people can do it without the GG, but I really don't have the time with all the coupon inserts I've accumulated.
