Fall 2026 itineraries

We DIY most of our port days and try eating lunch on land to get the local cuisine. I think the biggest challenge for families in Europe is the hotels. Rooms are always designed for two. I always think foreigners must be amazed by our Hyatt houses and residence inns. Rooms that sleep 6 with a kitchen aren’t something I’ve not been able to find outside the US.
THIS! I am trying to find a hotel for the 4 of us. Every time I have been to Europe, it has been without kids. Has anyone used a Disney sponsored hotel? I have to call. I assume they would use family friendly ones. I need Rome and Barcelona. TY!

When we visit in Barcelona before our cruise, we stay at the Royal Ramblas Hotel right on La Rambla. https://www.royalramblashotel.com/en/. This hotel is about ten minutes away from the port and taxis are always available.

The cruises in New Zealand and Australia are a great example of this, people were excited when the first season was announced, but now many people that want to stay loyal to DCL are decrying the fact that there is absolutely no variety to what's being offered.
So much this. I’m still sailing DCL, but we’re on the Norwegian Fjords cruise this summer because it’s unique, Destiny in December because it’s new, and then Dream in February because we’re taking friends who have never been.

Next summer we had held out, hoping Disney would do a special Solar Exlipse sailing to take advantage of the August solar eclipse. But nothing. No special itinerary. And while the 4-night Bilbao Spain sailing from the UK will likely see the eclipse, it’s only 4 nights and 1 port. So we’re sailing RCCL for the first time in ages because they DO have a solar eclipse sailing, that’s 8 nights and visiting several ports in Spain while having a great location to view the eclipse.

Amazing! How did you like the experience on DCL vs Princess? Would love to hear about your trips!
We have some status on Princess, so we had some amenities like going to the upstairs lounge for complementary drinks.

However, one favorite thing was that we tendered out into Panama while in Gatan Lake. During that excursion, we went to see the United States area. The area is just a ghost town now, but the buildings were intact and you had an idea of how Americans lived there.

We’ve always gotten two rooms.

My husband and I were just discussing this tonight at dinner. We also are not fans with the layout and many spaces on the Wish even though it is a very pretty ship. We have been planning to go back to Europe soon. Ended up booking Alaska for this year expecting to go to Europe next year and then the PC cruise came back and we could not pass that up. Planning on Europe in 2027 at this point. Positive way to think about it is that Europe is so port intensive that there won’t be that much time on the ship. Still worried about lack of storage on a longer cruise/trip with three people. Thank goodness it has such an amazing and beautiful laundry room.
As far as I know DCL princess and Carnival are the only lines with laundry facilities. It is a big plus, and a solid reason to stick with Disney. I will say I did like stuffing a bag and having Royal do it. I took advantage of DCL 25 dollar bag offer too.

I’m not sure I would like a long cruise on the Wish. I really dislike that ship. It would have to be very port intensive. I would expect higher prices. Disney will expect people to be excited about that.

We have not stayed in Disney-booked hotels in Europe because they either sleep only 2 people or are very expensive, or both. We have had luck searching for "family rooms" that would accommodate my husband and me and our son and daughter. We found hotels in Barcelona (Hotel Colon) and Rome (Hotel HT6) with one double and two single beds. In Denmark, we stayed at the Hotel Danmark, which fit in 2 rollaway beds, but it was a tight fit.

I gave up looking for a hotel for 2 adults and one child when we were in Rome last month. In Civitavecchia, we stayed at a guest house that would add an additional single bed to the queen with no charge, and then for our after stay, we got a 2 bedroom AirBnB for less than most hotels (it was still $300/night, but it is Rome).

And to be on track...I neeeeeeed itineraries!!!

Yes.....we need those itineraries! Hoping this week!!!!!

We stayed at hotel IQ Roma. 4.7 rating on trip advisorThey are walking distance to everything and had laundry facilities. The laundry was important because we were sailing on Royal that does not have laundry. I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone want's a hotel with laundry facilities in a great location in Rome. I believe I paid somewhere around 150- 175 for a room with two twins.

Hopefully for all you waiting they release something amazing. The only thing that would excite me would be South America.

There are quite a few of us who won’t be very excited about it. 🤣 I hope they do not try to jack up the price even more. They might end up having to offer deep discounts again.
