Is there a CVS cliff notes thread I can read to learn how to do this? Do I need to do it each week? Just 2 of us & I don't think I could ever use all this stuff even if it was free. I know I could donate it some place. But just wondering if I have to keep this going every week for it to be free. Point me to the info please. Thanks.
Ahhh, a question as to the art of CVSing. Once you get going it is really easy but at first it can be intimidating. First, read the CVS threads here and at the links so kindly provided by It's A Happy Day in the first post. Here is what I do each week,
1) look at the CVS ad (usually posted early here and at HCW aka Hot Coupon WOrld)
2) See what deals are free or almost free after ECBs
3) see what coupons match up with those deals (CVS will accept a CVS coupon
AND a mfr coupon on the same item)
4) play with different scenarios to see how close to zero I can get with my CVS coupons and mfr coupons
Keep doing this each week. ECBs are good for 4 weeks so you don't have to "roll" them every week but I ususally do (if there are good deals.)
Now is a great time to start because there are soem really great weekly and monthly deals running that have good ECBs!
As for the extra stuff, you can give it away, donate it or even sell it at garage sales. I have a list of stuff that my parents, ILs and friends use. If I can get it with a great deal at CVS I pick it up and give it to them. My parents and ILs all live on somewhat limtied budgets so it means alot for them not to have to pay for so much of this stuff!!! I also sell extra stuff when I go to the flea market or have garage sales. Health/beauty items tend to sell very quickly and make me a nice bit of
extra cash
Good luck to you! Feel free to ask questions. I think us CVS DISers are a pretty friendly and helpful bunch!!!
