Cutting in line..

I think that the people who get all militant ruin the happy mood for everyone around. Who wants to hear you crab at other people?

Wow we have amazingly took many trips to WDW, kept our kids hydrated in the hot FL sun at all different ages, and even traveled with two other people who had bladder issues, and I gave birth to two children and have weak bladder muscles, and we have NEVER had to get out of a line to use the bathroom...why you ask...because we all go BEFORE we get into the line. We join the line together, we ride together. If one of them had to go, we would all leave the line, or one parent and one child would leave the line and sit it out. Kids learn this in K. If they get out of the line, they have to go back to the end of the line.

How is this type of behavior in line even remotely fair to someone who is traveling solo, or a single parent with kids. No one is "holding" there spot for them to get back in line if they have to use the bathroom or their child does:confused3

Why blame the people who are being cut off? Why not blame the fracas on those doing the cutting? If they weren't cutting, then no one's happy mood would be ruined in line. Kinda seems you are blaming the victim, so to speak.

Well...the victim is sort of to blame if they over react.
Folks need to take a deep breath and let some things go off their shoulder...life is happier that way. But,,i agree i wouldn't let a ton of folks move ahead of me....a few, i could care less. It hardly ever happens anyways,

Agreed. some folks just simply over react..and then become more of an issue than a "line cutter"..maybe it really was a dad catching up with his wife and son....who knows. I think its pretty easy to tell the REAL line cutting from an innocent catch up

Who wants to be squished and pushed by people who decide they are too good to stay in line with their family?

My position is simple: I see you getting out for a bathroom break with a child or even alone, sure you can go right back in. But if you send DH to hold a spot while you take Junior all over the park to ride other rides and see characters you are cutting the line.

Oh I think the people cutting are rude too. But when it becomes a stink then everyone around is affected. Most people have enough stress in their own lives. They don't need to listen to yours.

We don't cause a commotion, we just don't let them through. When you've been in line a long time and suddenly a GROUP of people try to push to the front, it's pretty obvious they didn't leave to go to the bathroom. If they didn't leave past us then they're not entering past us. I did get a big laugh over the line about making the people around us uncomfortable since our actions are always met with cheers, smiles, and "good for you"s. Also the people who say it doesn't happen often have clearly never been there with the Brazilian tour groups!

Right on ;). Whomever you get in line behind at the start of the line is the same person you should be behind when you actually get on the ride!

Yes it's so simple, but so many feel like it's no big deal if some of their party just catch up in line. One or a few can do the waiting for the whole party!

Yes I think this would definitely lessen the problem. At least there would be a sign to refer to when the cutter's are cutting!

They don't enforce it so I don't know how anyone can say it isn't allowed. The CM's stand there like they are in a trance. Cutting? what cutting? :confused3

The last time I confronted a cutter, the guy told me "What? Are you kidding, this is Disney!" As if there are no rules and everybody knows it. :sad2:

Why would you confront someone? Are you in charge of the line? Since there is no rule saying you can't meet your family in line, there is no reason for you to open your mouth.

No. Stargazertechie was correct. There is no such thing as a medical fastpass. Nor is there anything that allows a person to do what you are describing. If you wish to educate yourself on this matter, please spend a little time over on the disAbilities board where all of these things are explained at length.

The closest thing to what you describe are the very special accommodations that are made for Make A Wish children.

You're both right, depending on the attraction. At some, your wait with a GAC could be the same or longer than the "regular" line. At others, you're on in a flash.

Better yet, get "regular" FastPasses at each ride that interests you. Good advice for a lot of people who currently use GACs.

Why is that good advice?

As I read this thread, all I can think of is "get a life!" :lmao: I can't believe people get so upset over people joining the queue. :confused3 To read so many posts how people physically block someone from getting past in absurd. If someone tried to stop me, I would absolutely get a CM involved who would more than likely allow me through since I'm joining my family. :sad2: I might be in the minority but I'm on vacation, I don't care what other people do. I'm there for a good time, not to act as though I'm a CM and enforce "rules" that the actual CM's don't!

I don't think as an adult there is any reason you should rejoin a line once you leave. If I had a medical problem and had to leave the line, I wouldn't try and rejoin it. If I had to use the bathroom, I wouldn't rejoin. I would wait for the rest of the family. Any way you slice it, you have to push past people who are standing in line, and there just isn't really the room to do that. And I think bumping into numerous people as you try to get back to your family is rude.

Most queues at WDW just don't accommodate people trying to catch up with their parties. It's difficult to do without being impolite and encroaching into other people's personal space.

We were at Peter Pan last month, and a lady at the entrance was frantically trying to talk her way past the CM to get to her family, who were literally at the boarding point inside (they were freakishly waving and yelling, too).

Eventually the CM inside forced the family onto the ride because they were holding up the operation. The lady out front was yelling at the CM, and just didn't get that it was physically impossible for her to get past 500 people to the front of the line in the 8 seconds available before her family was to board.

One of the many reasons - along with FP availability and low crowds at rope drop, etc. etc. - why it's so good that such a small percentage of Disney vacationers are Dis folks. The vast majority of people could never imagine that anyone would object to them finding their family in line.

Been lurking on here for years and still don't find this attitude normal, myself. But I know it's just a matter of time before the Dis clouds my mind and I start resenting everyone else who dares visit MY theme parks.

In all my trips to WDW I've never seen a CM walk someone up through the line to meet their group. This either means they don't do it and you are mistaken, or that line cutting is not as rampant as it sounds on here. Or maybe a bit of both.;)

I would never block someone from getting by me in line, but let's be honest here people. Most of us learned how to line up and wait in line in Kindergarten. You all know that it is not cool to push past others in line. I will give you that in the grand scheme of things it is not usually a huge deal. But we all know that when there is a line for something you want, you need to wait your turn.

And who are you to say if their issues are real or not?

Well....since I never said anything of the kind...I guess I don't think I'm someone who has any comment on anyone's issues. Thanks for the question.

(Reading comprehension. Look into it.)

Fastpasses for some attractions are completely gone for the day in a matter of hours especially during peak times.
