I've read a lot about this lately, & I'm wondering how many of YOU have actually had this happen? I may sound childish, but I don't know if I could keep calm if I've been standing in 100* heat for 30 minutes to meet belle & someone cut in front of me lol. How did you handle it? Are there CM who tell the people to go to the back of the line? :confused3

I've had it happen. I grit my teeth and then let it go. CMs will generally not enforce it.

Good luck with this thread.

It's happened and while I don't like it I let it go. I figure that if I want to enjoy my trip I need to choose what i am going to let annoy me.

been going for decades in my experience the character handlers/CMs are very good at keeping the line without cuts In lines for ride show etc if a few want to join the family or friends I'm ok with that maybe needed a bathroom whatever BUT I have
experienced being in a line and out of the woodwork comes a large group wanting to jump line to catch up with chaperone leader NOT HAPPENING my arm swings down in front of them like a gate at a kiosk Even if there is a language barrier a firm NO & a moton to get to end of line works No need for a brawl or high blood pressure 90 % of the time it works & usually with others in line being vocal too CMs can't really police the line

We've never had anyone do anything so out of line that it disrupted our touring, ever. A few times people have gone by to "meet up with their parties". Honestly it just didn't bother us that much. Idk I guess we are all different. Don't even spend another minute thinking about it. Enjoy your trip!

I think we've had it maybe 4 times in 44 park days over our trips...

It depends on what you mean by 'cut in line'. I've had people rejoin their party on many occasions. This has not bothered me, at all.

I don't think that I have ever seen 'unrelated' people try to jump in a line in front of me. If they did, I didn't notice.

It depends. I think a lot of people do the "catch up" with their party thing. Where the whole family is waiting in line to meet Ariel, for example, then the littlest has to go pee and they don't want to lose their place in line so someone stays in line and the others go off to the bathroom. This really doesn't bother me. I know there are arguments about it but i don't have a problem with it. In the end i'm not losing any time by letting them back into their spot.

Then there's the groups that try and claim they have friends up ahead and are trying to catch up. You can usually tell the difference or at least have a feeling if they are full of "honey" or not. These types of incidents i have a hard time keeping my mouth shut. I had it happen on Splash mountain once and let the people cut but as soon as a saw a CM i told them and the CM DID in fact make them go to the end of the line.

The only time it bothered me was when we were waiting in line for a show and the person in front of was saving a spot for 10 other people. That was the cut off point, we had to wait for the next show. Well we really smooshed forward and made them work their way to their family member.

Had a really bad experience at Sea World one day. The park was full of middle/high school kids on end of the year field trips. A couple of the kids would get in line, and then a while later, 20 more would want to join them - you could tell they were all together by the brightly colored shirts. It got so bad that me and the people around me just totally blocked up the line so that no one could get thru. That ended it right then and there - once the kids saw there was no way to cut in front of us, they went to the end of the line where they belonged. This method only works if everyone around you in line works together.

I've had it happen more than once. Yes, it bothers me but not enough to say or do something about it. And the mild irritation only lasts a minute at most. I try not to allow other people's rude behavior ruin my Disney experience.

We had it happen once in line where there was 1 guy waiting in line, and then a family of at least 8-10 people joined him. Then, it happened AGAIN with a totally separate group of people that were unrelated (1 person in line, a whole bunch joined them)

I complained to the CM and she brought my son and I up to the fastpass line because she said it was too many people to send to the back.

I can understand 1 parent and a kid or two joining up with the rest of their family if someone had to pee or something, but 10 people, adults and kids jumping in where 1 adult had been standing isn't fair. If more than half your party has to pee, then wait for them outside the restroom and join the line together.

I experienced it at MK at Winnie the Pooh, of all attractions, and it was 5-6 adults coming up to join a woman and her baby who were waiting in front of us. I did say something and they refused to move. I started getting really mad, and then decided to let it go because I didn't want a few rude jerks ruining my last night in Disney. I also watched while a kid (early twenties) at Star Tours tried to get "caught up" to his friend. The man in front of us got very loud and told them if they wanted to ride together they needed to move to the back of the line. He went on and on until the kids finally did so. He just wouldn't stop talking about it and I kind of felt bad for his teenaged daughter he was with. I guess if more people spoke up and stuck to their guns, it wouldn't be as much of an issue though...

We have had it happen and although it is rare, it is still annoying. In the couple of times it has happened I questioned teens that are trying to "catch up" to the rest of their party.

I think the thing that is slightly more annoying (to me), is sometimes in character lines one person is holding a spot for a family or other large group. I understand that, but when a big group walks out of nowhere and then they decide that they want pictures of each kid individually and then with each parent, it annoys us. It isn't something we complain much about (doesn't happen too often anyway), but we wish some others were quicker in the character lines.

It's happened to us once. These kids walked through and were saying to people they wanted to meet up with their group. When they got to us, I told them they weren't going ahead of us. After I said this, the people behind us started clapping and told the kids to get to the back of the line. The kids went to to the back. Whether or not they stayed in line or left, I don't know One man a couple of people ahead of us said these same kids had pulled this at another ride.

Only 3 or 4 times in 60+ park days, though once was too many for me. Don't want to cause a scene, so as others have said, we grit our teeth and let'em go. I know this post isn't about Brazilian tour groups specifically, but Disney knows generally when the bazillion Brazilian tour groups arrive. They need to be much more proactive during those periods in watching the lines. Unfortunately, they aren't.

In all the times we have gone to Disney, this has never happened to us. We've had the occasional parent and child catching up, but that doesn't bother me. We avoid the months of the *big un- named groups* so haven't had issues in that respect.

Yippee! Another line cutting thread. :hyper: 'Cause we just can't get enough of these hot button topics, and they cover SO much new territory every time they are re-animated.

So should we start taking bets now on how long this thread will go? How about getting an early start on the "Entitled" Drinking game?:drinking1

This board needs a little action.

I don't think I have ever seen people cut in front of us, but when we were in Disney Jan of 2007 we had someone cut in front of us to see Ariel. This was just after they shut down the original Ariel's grotto which at the time I was unaware was going to occur. Really bummed us out because my girls wanted to meet her. We went down into Toon Town, there are two lines to see characters. I asked the lady at the front if Ariel was one of the characters, and she said she didn't think so. We had already met a bunch of Princesses at Akershus so we went in the other line. Met Chip and Dale, and a few other characters. We got out, and my wife asked the same lady again if Ariel was back there and this time she said Yes. Of course this annoyed me since we could have met her already and now there was a 30 minute wait showing. We got in line, at one point we didn't move for 20 minutes. I was getting very annoyed. Finally we got in through the doors, and yes Ariel was there. Just a few more families in front of us. We got to the front and were the next to meet Ariel when who should walk in...

Yes, Mickey Mouse. Afterward looking at my pictures I thought it was cute, but after waiting for almost an hour to get to this point this really annoyed me. That's the only time I can think of when someone cut in front of me.
