Curious, has your guide ever called you?

I was just wondering if other guides are more or less attentive then ours? When we first met it was as though if you ever have a problem to get in touch with them and everything would be taken care of. I have to find out when this guide ISN'T on vacation before I can get any info.

No, once we closed on the property, we never heard from the guide again. I had no real expectation that I would though. My thought was that his job was to do the introduction and help us through the purchasing process, and then MS took over to help us with the servicing aspect after we were members.

I have no real complaint about our guide..he was very nice, pleasant to work with, willing to answer as many questions and spend as much time as necessary with us during the purchasing process. I know some folks' guides keep in touch with them, but I htink that's an indiviual difference in how people do business. My DH is in real estate, and there are some realtors who give their clients housewarming gifts etc. after their transaction has finished. My DH doesn't do that, because he feels that if he gives them superior service, that's more important than a knick-knack. He does have colleagues who do the whole housewarming fit thing. It's no bad, it's just differneces in style.

My guide has never called me, unless he is returning my call to him.... and that is sort of touch and go.

Don't get me wrong, I like working with my guide, but he is just not the best with a telephone... :teeth:

I can only remember our guide actually calling us ONCE since we purchased 10 years ago! And that was in 1997, to let us know that our use year at OKW was close to selling out, in case we wanted more points.

We hadn't even thought about an add-on up to that point, so was I ever surprised when DH just said "Sure, we'll take another 150"!!!

Wouldn't you think that if his one and only phone call to us had that result that we'd hear from him more often???? ;)

No, did not expect casual calls - but would have expected a sales/courtesy call related to SSR

Thanks

Yes! I have heard from my guide several times. She called to tell me BCV was selling out. She called on 9-11 (said she was calling all her "New Yorkers"). She called to ask if I would talk to someone who was "on the fence" about DVC. She always promtly returns my calls and always has a moment to say "Hi" when I drop by.

Our guide called several times last fall after we called him and said we were either interested in BCV or more points at BWV. He gave me the facts and figures I asked for and then didn't push. We were on the waitlist for BWV points and he called us the minute they were given the green light - 2-3 days before they went on sale. He called 2-3 times during the course of that week while were were deciding....to do both (BCV points and a small number of add-on pts at BWV). And then I called him before our closing...nervous about all the problems with BCV posted on the DIS boards. Before he called us back, he had managers review the posts and he assured me that if I had problems at BCV on our first visit...I should call him directly.

I like that he responds to our calls, but that he isn't pushy and bothering us with unnecessary sales calls.

Our original guide, back in '93 would call often. We became friends over the years. We would take time to fine her when we visited, even after she moved on to work sales at Celebration.
Our new guide, calls to return my calls, usually the same day. He also send cards to tell us of specials, sellouts etc. But no calls just to see how things are going.

No. We called our guide once, to buy. He has never called us. We do not plan to add-on, so we have no real need to speak with a guide again. It was just a business transaction (although it was a very pleasant transaction).

Never met my guide face to face. When we toured DVC in March 2002 she wasn't there, so another guide gave us the tour and someone else did the closing.

When I got home she called to make sure we understood everything and ask if we had any other questions.

The day before we left for our first DVC trip home in Jan 2003 she called to say she hoped we would enjoy our first trip home and to say if we had any questions at all, to give her a call.

I called her with add-on fever when I got home. She called once to tell me points were available, but the timing wasn't right for me. Then she called again a few months later to say she had more points and asked if the timing was any better. I must have called her 4 times and each time she actually answered the phone answered my questions and it took all of 2 hours and 4 phone calls for me to decide to go ahead and add another 50 points.

Linda Streetman is awesome. I hope next time I'm down at DVC I can finally meet her face to face.:)

Our guide is Judy Kaufman, and she's wonderful about returning calls and answering all our numerous questions through several add-ons and sales. I highly recommend her.

My guide is Diane Henry and she is also great. She has called when BW was about to sell out (the first time in Nov 2000), she called when more BW points were available in April (said she was calling owners with Aug UY because of the banking window expiring the end of the month) and she called me right away when I called about this add on I just did.

Now I wish she'd just call to let me know I won some sort of drawing for free points......

My guide has called several times: to confirm she received my referrals, wanted to wish us well on our first trip home, called to let me know BCV was selling out. Celeste has been great and I really wish I could add on again!! Annmarie

I would echo Disney Dolls response. Never heard from him again. Never expected to, although it would have been nice of him to call and see how we liked it. Don't even know if he's still there. Maybe we'll check in October when we "Go Home" to BWV. ONLY 57 DAYS TILL WE LEAVE!!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We have a great guide, Betty Prikryl. She has called us several times. A couple have been just to keep in touch and lately she called to let us know about Saratoga Springs and that the others would be selling out. She is an all around nice person!! I love doing business with her.

Our guide has phoned us several times over the years. She has also called us a few times when we were staying at OKW.

No, my guide has never called me apart from the transaction processes (4 contracts). Nor did I expect him to. He was terrific to work with when I was ready to buy. Returned my calls very promptly, never pressured, patiently answered countless questions before my first contract, etc. He sends out mailings letting me know when each resort is selling out, as I'm sure other guides do too. Apart from that, I'm not really interested in extra calls from him. His approach has suited me just fine. :D

Yes; my guide has called. Julie Hughes is her name and she's a dream. She's called actually a few times. Once when one of the new resorts was opened up for sale here in NY. And then more recently this past Spring and I can't remember why! :) And then just to say "hi" and see how we enjoyed our trips "home".

But if anyone out there is looking for a "new" guide I highly recommend her.

Our guide never calls. Not even when we call her and she knows we want to add on. Not even when our credit card was billed twice due to her error! Then she has the nerve to tell me she appreciates "my persistence". I'm glad to know that they are not all like that!!!
