Curious, has your guide ever called you?

Our guide has never initiated a call to us since our initial tour and purchase in March of 2002. However, I have called him a couple of times, and both times he returned my calls within an hour or two (more promptly than I really expected).

I have no expectations beyond that. He has been reasonably knowledgeable when I've had questions, and returns my calls promptly, so I suppose I'm pretty much a satisfied customer as far as the member/guide relationship goes. :earsboy:

Lisa deRosa is our guide and I just love her. She always calls back when I need info. She knows we are considering an add-on at SSR so she's kept me posted on all the details. What is funny is that she tells me she never REALLY needs to call me with info because she feels I know more than she does, sooner, thanks to these Boards! I think that is SO funny, because it is probably TRUE!

Julie Hughes has been great! She has contacted us with news/updates and we've contacted her with questions numerous times - she always gets an answer and is glad to help.

I also bought thru Betty but I do get a call and a card when I return home.I know alot of you check-in with your agent when on vacation but why bug them unless your buying. They sell alot and very busy.

and he has called me once without me calling him first. It was just a courtesy call to let me know that BCV was selling out fast, and that they were still doing the MB program. Byron is great. We have added on too many times to think about. We started with 250 at BWV, added twice at OKW, added 100 at BCV, sold the OKW points and then bought another 100 at BCV, then another... I don't know - I've lost count! Anyway, he and I have talked several times as a result. He is wonderful - thorough, pleasant, and always returns my calls, even if it takes a day or so.
I have been meaning to find him when I am at WDW, but someone said that he does the "phone sales" and is in Celebration, so I never seem to get there.
Anyone else have Byron?

Ditto on Byron we really like him, easy to work with, and we have driven him crazy finding us BCV points for add-on, he is VERY laid back, which makes dealing with him great!

no one must have my guide, or he's one of those unmentionables.

I have only called him when interested in an add-on, oh, and info on SSR. Kind of weird that he didn't call me about it, but maybe they think we know all there is to know with the Member e-mails and such.

We received one call while we were in the "still thinking about it" stage. He wasn't pushy at all and just wanted to answer any questions. I might add that he waited until three months after our tour to call and then we bought three months after that.

I don't expect any calls from him unless I call him with a question.

It was really funny when he called though. DD brought the phone to me with this look of awe on her face, "It's Disney World. They want to talk to you." No excitement, just monotone, and these very wide eyes that I can still picture. :D One of the few times I've seen her close to speechless.

And we were such an easy sell....if he actually ever pushed us we would probably add on another couple hundred points.

Our guide is Michelle. She calls once or twice a year to remind us about closeouts or specials. She also called once to let us know she would be out on maternity leave. We've purchased two add-ons over the years and have been on a waiting list for another, so she knows we're interested in what's available.

Our original guide called us regulariy (Randy Kruegar), and when he got promoted, our new guide also called us on a regular basis. She left the employ of DVC, and the guide we were assigned then has never called, even when I call and leave a message! I hear RAndy is back to being a guide, and I would LOVED to get him back as ours!

No

Not only has our guide never called us, he doesn't return phone calls. I called to do a SSR add-on and never heard back from him; as a result no add-on to date. Are sales for SSR that brisk? I had a similar experience when I did do a VWL add-on which eventually did get done. I know it's just a part-time job for him, so maybe that's part of the problem.

Our guide couldn't even be bothered to be there when we bought into DVC, even though we had an appointment with him. It burns me up that he got the commission for our sell. I have not heard from him since our initial contact which was a year before we actually purchased. What really gets me is some of the folks in this thread have mentioned him as being a terrific guide. Maybe he just didn't like us.

Our guide is Arnault Garcia. He has not called us for any reason, but that is ok. He is very knowledgeable and professional. In general an excellant person to do business with. I must say that we were about 80% sold on the DVC idea, even before we talked with him. I thought I had his email address on the business card he gave us, but just found out that it is on there. I'm more of an email guy than a phone guy, I guess I think that calling someone would be 'bothering' them. I love DVC, will be making my 1st trip back home for Thanksgiving. I'm not in any position to 'add on' since DW was laidoff last June, so I'm also not interested in another sales pitch. Still, Arnault if you are there, I wanted you to know that Terry H. (guy that refered me) did get his little Disney Thank you, and I'm happy that you took care of that, like you said you would. Maybe I'll stop buy during our stay, just to say hi, and would like to see the models rooms for SSR, if there are any. Anyone else have comments on Arnault? Would like to hear them.

My guide also was Byron. He doesn't call me anymore, but he did call at least every 6 months when I first met him.
I wanted to purchase way back when OKW was the only resort. but I was newly divorced, and had 3 young boys, and the extra expense made me nervous. He spent a long time with me but never once pressured me.
He called me every once in a while to see if I was ready after our first meeting.
I took another tour a few years later and after working out the budget I got nervous again. At this point I had a son ready to go to college and no help other than my income. I backed out again
In 2001 I met up with Byron again. I had a good job at a college (free tuition) and a raise. It was time.
The paperwork went smoothly and he gave me all the attention he did in the past, nothing was rushed even though I had heard the explanations before. This time I had to sign the papers so he made sure I understood everything.
I get postcards and letters from him frequently when a new resort is opening, when they were close to selling out my resort WLV. I wish I could afford more points but I have to wait till 2011 when I finish paying off the points I have.
I did call him when everyone else was posting about the DVC Mickey ears Patriotic pin that I never received and I did hear back from him immediately. I was on the list for the pin and I did receive it a few days later, the mail was just slow.
But I don't expect frequent phone calls from him just as I don't call him. We both have jobs, families etc. and honestly, I can't afford to add on so why should he take time out from his schedule to call me? Peggie
(Margaret Dennehy If you are reading this Byron)

Linda Scolaro checked with us once or twice after we first purchased and then made sure we had information (mailings) about the other resorts as they opened. I called her at the last minute about SSR and she returned my calls as we played phone tag and even called meat 7:45 am on a day when she was supposed to be off from the sales area to a meeting and made it possible for me not to miss out on the $10 a point incentive for SSR. I don't expect my guide to be my best buddy or send me birthday or Christmas cards but I do appreciate the prompt response to my calls (especially since I called at the last minute) and the accurate information that she provides. She was our guide in 1997. Maybe I'll stop in to see her at Christmas just to say Thanks.

I was just wondering if other guides are more or less attentive then ours? I have to find out when this guide ISN'T on vacation before I can get any info.

Ha! At least you know who your guide is. Some info I wanted they told me had to come through my guide...that's the first I heard a name of my present guide. He never returned the call. Of course, that was over a year ago so my guide could be someone new. My original guide back in 1993 was terrific....so terrific that they moved her on up the ladder to bigger and better things. I've never seen her mentioned here...did anyone else buy from Diane Christie? She was a very pretty blonde with a wonderful personality as well.

Our guide has left a welcome message for us everytime we have come home to Boardwalk
