I'm thinking of adding a pair to my collection. However, I wonder how they REALLY feel walking around in the hot WDW sun.

Please give your experience...

I wore them last Sept. without socks and without a problem. I wore the "Birkenstocks" style and my mom wore the clogs. We loved them! No tired feet and if it rains, who cares, your shoes are made out of plastic :cool1: .

I had wondered the same thing. I tried on my first pair of crocs a couple of days ago. Very comfortable. I would have bought them but am holding out to try the sandel style---the kind that doesn't have the thing going between the toe. I can't find them anywhere other than on the internet.

When we went to WDW last month I wore my crocs and had a blister rubbing.. I had to wear them with socks.. I wear them around home all the time and no blisters.. I guess it was just all that walking .. although maybe they just arent worn in enough..

I just came back from WDW last tues and wore my crocs without socks and it was 90 one day and I had no problem with sweating.

I live in FL and wear my crocs about 80% of the time when I go out - other times it's Birkenstocks.... I do not wear them with socks (a very big selling point for me - I hate socks) - and my feet do not feel sweaty or sticky. It is my shoe of choice when i go to the theme parks right now! On occasion I will wear my Nikes - but my crocs are the way to go for my feet! DD9 too!

They don't cause blisters or anything?

I bought my crocs on a Saturday afternoon, and wore them the entire next day at EPCOT w/o socks, I had no blisters or discomfort in anyway - they weren't even worn in yet!

I definitely want to get a pair of these for our upcoming trip to WDW in August. I was wondering the same thing about sweating heavily with no socks. Also, are they good for the large amount of walking one does in the Florida heat? Just curious.

I posted this on another thread a little while ago, so if you already read it, SORRY! ;) Anyway, DS and I both took Crocs last May to WDW. I also took my New Balance shoes. I wore NB, DS9 wore Crocs. I had tired, achy feet after 2 days, DS was going strong without any problems. I switched to my Crocs and my tired feet were all better!!! I never got a blister, my feet didn't sweat, and we wore them with and without socks. DS wore them the whole time (8 days) and never had a problem either.

Strangely enough, when I was walking BEFORE I went to Disney to get in shape, I DID get a blister on the top of my foot. I thought it was very strange. But I never got one at Disney and I've never gotten one since.

We LOVE our Crocs and will be taking them with us again in 21 days!!

I can't say with real crocs (couldn't find them in time) but I bought some cheap 10 buck off brand ones at the Pro Bass Shop in Orlando. I wore cool max socks short style with them and had no problems after walking around Epcot all day and night. The kids had payless croc style ones and they also wore short socks. No one complained a hot or sweaty feet. We just got back Thursday so it was 90 degrees all last week when we were there. :sunny: I'd say try it without the socks if you like them better that way and have socks on hand in your backpack if you change your mind :Pinkbounc
By the way, you should only feel the crocs on the bottom of your feet when you buy them. They should not rub anywhere for proper sizing. If in doubt, go a little bigger but stow them away in the storage area if you ride SOARING! :rotfl2:

I guess we'll try them with all the positive posts. I'm going to try to convince my mother to buy a pair (or let me buy them for her) at the airport.

Thanks

I haven't gotten real blisters but I did get the kind where it is like dry skin rubs off. But I think that is from a lack of taking care of my feet during the winter. Other than that I wear mine everyday and have had no problems.

They aren't as bad without socks as I thought they would be. I wore mine with socks when it was cold out, but now that it has warmed up I am sockless. Your feet will sweat, but they don't get slippery and clammy like you might imagine.

The problems we have had with blisters are from the black circle that holds the strap on the shoe. The one on the inside edge rubbed a hot spot on my foot AND on DS's foot. After that happened I flipped the strap forward and haven't had any problems since. DS doesn't like his Crocs as well as he thought he would so it is a battle to get him to wear them - I don't know if moving the strap on his would eliminate the problem or not.

I am perfectly comfortable with or without socks, but I will make sure I carry moleskin to WDW in case I have any issues.

Love love love my crocs. I wonder if those of you getting blisters are either not breaking them in good before going to Disney, or if you may have the wrong size. (Not trying to debate, just a thought) Another poster was right about the fact that they are not supposed to really touch your feet anywhere excpet the botton and maybe the top of your foot, a little. I've read another thread about people putting them into an over on microwave and wearing them for a while to speed up the breaking in process. Although they shouldn't take long...maybe 3 or 4 days of wearing them, before they are broken in.

I have the Niles - the ones that have open toes and the strap only goes behind your heel - and I got blisters on the same spot on both feet (inside instep). I ordered my correct size because I wasn't sure how the Niles should feel. Oddly enough though, once the blisters healed I tried them again and now they are very comfy.

I also bought a pair of bright pink "caymen" type ones at payless and other than the color (they don't match everything and I have matching color issues  )I love them!! They are gushy and don't have the bumps on the bottom (which don't bother me either way). DS and DH have the navy payless ones and DS has worn them every day for 3 weeks now.

I then finally found the real Crocs in navy and they aren't as gushy as the payless ones and also gave me a blister on the inner instep - but I think maybe the initial blister hadn't healed yet. Other than that, I like them very much.

However - I have to say I do have a little issue with sweating sometimes. I usually take them off for two seconds and all is well. Also, the tops of my feet hurt but I think it's the way I walk...? :confused3

I look forward to trying them all out at Disney!

They are not hot and sticky in the least. I LOVE mine! :lovestruc

If they get wet (rain and such), they dry very quickly. Your feet are able to get air. The toe area is very roomy, so no cramped feeling. The soles are extremely comfortable.

They're just great. I have a pink pair, but am planning on getting a green pair and possibly one more.

ETA: forgot to say that I have the beach style (I think). The ones with full toes and holes all over them with square holes around the edges.

The Payless brand of Croc look-alikes are on sale right now -- buy one, get one 1/2 off. Their regular price is $12.99 so you can get two pair for under $20.00. Actually, all shoes in the store are on sale that way. I tried on a pair but because my 2nd toe is longer than the others, it kept rubbing against the front of the shoe. Bummer! The kids got theirs though.

I have at least one pair of every style except the new Athens (flip flop)--just have not seen them in a store to try them on for feel with the toe thing--I'm very picky about the toe thing! Anyway, the only pair I have that my feet sweat in without hosiery are the completely closed ones--no air holes at all. These were bought for use in the very wet Buffalo winters here, so I figured I'd want them all closed in to prevent frozen toes. They work, but never ever go without the socks even if you're in a hurry--way too sweaty and your feet may make really weird squishy sounds--feet farts :lmao:.

I wore beach style without sox all last week in disney. I did use body glide too and had no blisters. They are ugly and I got bright pink so I kinda got a lot of comments.Lots of people wearing them now. I was kinda surprised how many men had them as DH would chop off a toe first. They even sell them at the airport now.

My husband wouldn't be caught dead in them, either. He doesn't even want to be seen with me if I get some! :p
