has anyone ever bought a dvc resale? were you happy with your experience? any suggestions or advice?

we have looked at information from disney & when we called about purchasing at the boardwalk or beach club were told there is a waiting list. we are getting married next march at wdw at the yacht club gazebo & would like to purchase there at one of the crescent lake dvc's only, now, so we can save points for that trip in 2006.

also if anyone on the dis is lucky enough to own a bwv or bcv what are your annual dues? would this be similiar dues for a resale dvc?

thanks in advance for any info,

Yes, we bought resale and it was pretty painless. The only hitch is that Disney has the right to buy back the points instead of allowing you to purchase it. (Right of First Refusal) Ours went very smoothly, it was 3 weeks from the day the paperwork was given to Disney that we found out that they waived their right and we got it!!! The waiting is the hardest part. As for the whole transaction, it went very smoothly!!! You can check out the resales at the Timeshare Store and see what they've got!!!

A better question would be who hasn't!!

Pat at the TimeShare Store was very efficient and made the enitre process painless, and relatively quick.

Much of the timeliness depends on Disney and how fast the decide on the ROFR.

No reason to be apprehensive about a resale contract.

I just recently bought through Disney at the BWV and the dues are 4.41 per point. Now, as far as the waiting list, i would say to expect points about 3 to 4 weeks after going on the list for the BWV and 1 year or so for the BCV. i am only guessing on the wait, some have taken longer and some have taken less time. However, the points are a little higher than resale if you buy a small contract of say 150 points or so. But, you get a full set of points right away, not always true with a resale. AND, I was notified that the points were available on one day and starting making ressies the next. Plus, if you need to finance, they make it TOOOO easy. Some of the reasons I decided to buy through disney. JMHO

thank you so much for the suggestions & experiences. we will be looking at the dealers suggested this weekend, i hope we too can call wdw home someday, soon. thanks again!

i love the dis,
