I don't think so. I think someone just wanted to make sure you know you are being watched. Just ignore it.

Hi, MickeyMedic, I see you have a GG in your future. How do you plan one of those, if I might ask? I don't have a very large family, but those sound so fun!

If everyone can kind of keep a good thought or prayer for me over the next little bit, I'd appreciate it. I got some very good test results yesterday, ones that I think can move me on to surgery, I sent a message to my endocrinologist to see if this is enough, but I haven't heard back from him yet. It might take a week or so to hear something (he doesn't have a regular practice, it's kind of hard to explain). So here's to hoping he clears me for March 25th. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

great news! i know you'd like to get this taken care of, and i sure hope this works out for you as soon as possible.

I have been reading about this crisis for several years. Didn't they determine the culprit was a mite of some kind? Or, was that just a temporary theory? People who are unfamiliar with agrarian areas have no idea how important bees are to our entire food supply. I doubt if any significant portion of our country knows what a major problem this is.

yeah...a mite sounds about right. the bee thing is pretty serious.

we're also in yet another year of drought here, and things are getting pretty tough. i even saw on the news that people are starting to use divining rods to find underground water sources. :scared:

Well, I didn't exactly start out saying to myself, "Self, let's plan a Grand Gathering." It more or less started by accident when I found out about the great deals that retired military personnel have access to right now. Since my dad is retired from the Army...and we have talked for a while about my parents, my sister's family and DH and I going to Disney...we started looking into booking a trip. I requested a vacation quote through DU, and after the quote came back my DU agent told me that, due to the number of travelers in the party, we would be considered a Grand Gathering and we would be entitled to any of the Grand Gathering events. I have not looked further into what is available to Grand Gatherings, but I have a feeling they all involve more money. Unfortunately I'm not sure that DH and I will be able to afford to make the trip at all at this point. My primary job is not secure right now. We are all pretty much taking it a week or two at a time and wondering when/if the next two weeks worth of scheduling will be completed. We all pretty much assume to be told we will all be laid off soon. Just not sure when it will happen.

Thanks, MM. The extra events intrigued me. I hope everything works out and you don't lose your job. I was out of work for 6 months years ago and I know how that turns your world upside down.

Wow, a couple of you (breezy) hit a nerve with PR tonight to pull him into this thread. Could it be that he realizes that he's in denial that Obama is showing some sympathy for terrorist?

Hey, I think Bush and Cheney (and Rumsfeld, Rove, Gonzalez, Chertoff, Hawley, and countless others) are terrorists, but I didn't want them hanged. I guess I showed some sympathy for those two.

Sympathy... the liberal way.

I've yet to encounter sympathy (or compassion, or empathy) from a con I'm not related to... we must have the market cornered.

Well, actually, the entire left shows more sympathy for those terrorist then they do – say, an unborn child that the mother wishes to kill. But hey.. that’s our messed-up society.

Actually, I have no opinion on that one. I plan on having absolutely NO children. EVER. NEVER.

Then do yourself a favor; stop lurking. You won't agree with anything said on this thread. You can't; you voted for Obama. We despise what the man is currently (and in only two weeks) doing to this country. He's setting the stage for another terrorst attack. We despise the fact that the man so brazenly lied about everything and embarrassed this country with his arrogance and you guys fell for it all. He stands for everything America isn't. He's socialist. America was never made to be that way. He will destroy this country and people, like you, are letting him. Stop lurking. You'll never see our viewpoint; we'll never see yours.

Why should I? I'm trying to understand you, I really am. Hence, why the majority of my posts on the conservative threads are quite friendly. I'm not here to start fights... I just want to understand.

I bet if we can pull up posts from the week of the 2001 inauguration, we'd see an entirely different story.

I said nothing bad about Bush then :)

I didn't say anything bad about him (other than saying I didn't care for him during the 2004 elections) until around 2005. And even then, I based what I said about him on my impressions of him and research. Not hearsay from political pundits, and slanders from the opposing political campaigns.

I wish I hadn't changed accounts in 2002, so you could pull up my posts from the 2001 election. You'd see, I said nothing bad about GWB then.

Just a PSA, I noticed you mentioned a couple of Jettas, one of which you referred to as a "beater". My sis and BIL owned part of a VW dealership and after my teenage son drove his into a sign to avoid hitting a dog (or, anyway, that was his story and he never wavered) BIL advised us to replace the parts with ones off ebay (new, had to be painted first, but still a great bargain). We had an estimate for over 2K and my son replaced the parts himself for under $500, including a "new" intercooler. I was surprised that VW was so user friendly to owners, but they are.

VW's good about that.

I own a 97 Jetta GLS beater and a 2009 Jetta TDI. The 97's on its second rear bumper (the perils of parking in San Juan), and both times I've had nothing but good times from VW and the VW community getting replacement parts.

My Golf/Rabbit R32 was a lemon, and I got rid of it accordingly, but my 97 has been problem free. Just wear and tear from island driving, and the 2009 so far has been trouble-free, so yay.

The internet VW community is amazingly friendly as well, when it comes to project advice and locating replacement parts. Right now, I'm on the search a new drivers seat for the beater, and I have 5-6 options right now, including one person willing to trade for my 2009 RHD headlights.

hey pr...you've always been really pleasant and interesting. i've enjoyed your posts. who wouldn't like somebody with a noodle...spaghetti...arrrrgh...thingamajig in his sig.

SM, can you either post the sign again or give me a drink?

Either he's guilty and should go to jail, or this is a ploy for revenge from his ex-aide. Was the ex-aide one of the ones whose resignation he demanded?

not sure. i've been looking for more real details, but everything just sort of repeats at this high level. [edited 'cause i wrote something so stupid which did not even answer the question! :scared:]

bummer. i like the guy, but if he blew it, he needs to go.

Don't know what advice my son got, other than BIL, but I was amazed that the car looked so original after he "operated" on it. The replacement intercooler was a real find. I really don't think the results would have been anywhere near the quality of the VW's, if it had been another make.

Agreed. Not going to have someone as the head of the RNC who lies, cheats, and steals. If we wanted that, we could just have pelosi or one of the other dems. :rolleyes1
