Hersheypark opening weekend fights.

I dunno then, I'm not a sports fan but maybe there is some sort of unwritten sports code to not bringing that sort of thing into neutral territory? Could be it is considered rude or provocative?

Why are you trying to blame the PP when others have the behavior problem? PP is allowed to wear her favorite sports team’s apparel just like anyone else. There are some deep sports rivalries and those fans generally are aware and as another poster mentioned, some good-natured ribbing might be expected. Bad behavior is fully on the offending party.

Wow, that is horrible and unexpected.

I am no sports fan but if it was me I would probably stop wearing sports team items to parks, particularly with kids. If people are that easily incited I would not wear things that would invite a squabble.

What is it you guys wear anyway? Are you just wearing plain old jerseys or hats or are you wearing T-shirts etc that insult the other teams or the other fans?
Hershey isn't exactly "Amish COUNTRY" I'm a born and raised in South Central PA person and lived there most of my life before moving to New England. I will tell you, even in Lancaster and other "Amish Country" towns that it's changed very much over the last 15 years and there are a lot of people in that small area now, and it's not peaceful FTMP, depending on where you are in that immediate area there is high crime in the cities, and other issues. And the Police aren't exactly sitting around "twiddling their thumbs."

OK, so a hotbed of crime now? That is really a shame, we used to like to go as a family. Liked that it was clean and generally free from foul stuff in other parks in the region. I used to recommend it to people passing through, I'll remember not to do that anymore based on your comments, you convinced me.

I'm not upset, amused yes, but upset, no.

One needs to consider the point of answering a question plainly directed elsewhere, there is an assumption of specialness

I've only gotten fun responses when wearing sports tees and hats. One time at WDW, I was wearing a Wrigley Field tee and a Red Sox hat and one guy gave me the thumbs up, which I get a lot of, pointed at both and said he was confused so he asked me where I was from. I started to tell him and he put his hands up and said "Never mind, I know where you're from" once he noticed the accent. :hyper2:We both started laughing. Yeah, my accent is always a dead give-away.
