Yes Kook I noticed that about the movie schedule ... I found that too but thought it was a mistake. The movies seem to be less popular than the ones offered recently :( except gnomeo and Juliet! I want to see that.

Can you all tell me the state of the pool and courtyard area? We had thought about Poly but the pool is all mucked up for 5 more months or so, so now we are turning our eyes toward WL.

How about the rooms? Any updates there?

TIA!

Just took the time to read pages 221-231. Awesome news that the pool, splash area, beach and hot tubs are done! Sounds delightful!

Does anyone know when the Christmas decorations are taken down at the WL? We're looking at booking a stay at the WL late December 2015 / early January 2016. Thanks!
All the resorts take down the decorations right after NYD. There's no guarantee they'll be up unless you're there 1/1, but they might still be up a few days after.

Glad you found an update. There's a pool update also at the top of the NEWS chapter - POST 2, with many photos and links to photos. Everything was completed and re-opened last month:). I'm not sure what you're asking about the rooms. The WL rooms were last rehabbed in 2012 and VWL villas one year ago.

In just under two hours I'll be making my way over to the Wilderness Lodge to check in! I'm so excited I woke up almost two hours before my alarm!

This is going to be me in two weeks...and our flight doesn't leave until noon! :)

Hi everyone,
I have learned so much reading this thread! We will be staying in a 2 bedroom villa at WL early Feb. First time at this resort with our 6 kids. We are bringing my mom (she makes our 9th person) so we are getting her her own room at the lodge. We have her booked for a Woods view room with 2 queens. My question is: Is this the most economical way to handle this? Our villa is full with DH, myself and 6 kids. We really want to stay at WL and dont want to change resorts. Some of the grands will probably stay with grandma a few nights. Her room alone is $2300 for 6 nights--yikes! I did check Orbitz--same prices. Any thoughts or is this the best pricing we will get to have her near us? Thanks!

I believe the special offers for February ended at the end of December. Are you or your mom a FL resident or an AP holder? They still have room discounts for them. Orbitz has 10% off WL with code HOTEL10.

THank you for your reply. We are not FL residents or AP holders.....I could check into the Orbitz 10% off I just don't know about their cancellation policy should we need too...

Hi everyone! Very excited to be staying here for the first time January 30th-February 6th. My husband and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary (we were married at the Boardwalk in 2009). We are booked in a Courtyard room, I have yet to do online check-in, but was wondering are there any rooms in that category I should request? We're not picky about being close to anything, just didn't know if there were any suggestions. Thanks so much!!

I thought I was on the Lodgers Log, but I guess I did not ask to be added after all.

We are traveling March 2-6, staying CL again for a belated birthday celebration for my son. He is in a school play which ends on March 1, or we would be going sooner.

And WDWKOOK, I will be asking for a similar add to the Boardwalk Inn thread. Just booked a SWW in early June!

I'm so happy I figured out how to add my ticker:goodvibes I also learned today that several relatives have made their reservations and will be joining us at WL. if we end up on opposite sides of the resort will it be a long walk to meet up? Our only other trip to WDW we stayed at POR and meeting up took some time as that resort is so spread out.

WL is relatively compact. There's the lobby, and two arms reaching off of it, like a "U". Worst that can happen is, you're at the extreme end of one arm, and they're at the extreme end of the other. (And maybe on different floors, to complete the construction of "worst thing that can happen").

Just have the first family to check in ask if they can make sure that their family is located near them. We had our daughter and her family joining us at the WL last Oct. We checked in a couple days before they did, so when we checked in I asked if they could assign them a room close to ours. The CM was able to get them in a room a few doors down from us. They block them off so that the room can't be assigned to someone else.

Who do I complain to about the lack of pinball or Ms. Pac-Man in the WL arcade?

Hmm I'd be careful, they took OUT the arcade at Poly for a Bar/restaurant(Trader Sam's).

If there maybe mention it to someone at the checkin desk/concierge. If not there you could email Disney perhaps.

Sorry, I love ms pacman too.

I believe you can link all your reservations together and also have them put in the comments that you want rooms in the same area. If anyone used a travel agent it might not work. My sister-in-law used a travel agent while I did not so our reservations could not be linked. The best we could do was put each other's information in the comments section of our reservation.

Have you thought about trying to "rent points" from a DVC member? You might be able to get a studio for your dates and the cost might be less. And you might be able to request that she be close to your villa. Check with David over on the DVC boards (he is a broker who matches people who want to rent with members who have points to rent).

I second this idea. We rented points for a 1 bedroom villa this past October through David's, and just finished renting points direct from a member for a studio villa in Oct. Both times went extremely smooth and saved a ton of money!

Hi, we will be at WL May 1-7! I have a woods view room booked for my family of 4. After reading this thread I was thinking the bunk beds might be a good idea for us. May I request them with a woods view reservation or would I have to upgrade?

Thanks!
