Also, we stayed on one of the lower floor, Deluxe CL rooms (family of 5), and I noticed there was a door to an adjoining room, I do believe. Anyone know if we could book this deluxe CL room again and attempt to get the room next door so we could be all together? Anyone done this? Was I mistaken?

Thanks for your advice!

I have requested and received this. I don't think that they guarantee connecting rooms, but they will try their best. Book one deluxe and either a woods view (for rooms at the end by the boat dock) or courtyard/lake view room (for rooms in the other wing), then call to request connecting rooms.

I have heard about the flag family, but can you tell me about rooftop wishes?
It isn't widely known and is usually for special occasions, but it doesn't hurt to ask about availability for your DGM. You are escorted to the roof to watch Wishes, as long as it isn't raining and there isn't lightning in the area.

With the Spring Special out I just upgraded from POF to WL for June 2-10, Woods view. I just made reservations for WCC for the 9th then read on here that they will be closed from May-?. Are they supposed to be open by the 9th? This will be our 2nd time at WL.
I'll add your dates to the Lodgers' Log and congratulations on upgrading! As of now, it doesn't look like WCC will be open when you're there.

Hola Lodgers!

Just booked my May trip to see my cousins march in the parade and went with the WL.

How does the pool look after the renovations? Last trip I stayed here in May, the stream was dry and closed
Many photos and links to photos are in POST 2.

I have reservations at WCC when it is said to be closed. So what happens now?
I called disney they say they have no record of it closing. Where did the closing info come from?
Disney is often the last to know:sad2:. When they finally process the closure into their system, you should be notified of your canceled ADR. This site has the announcement. I haven't seen the closure announced on other sites yet.
A poster at the beginning of this month kindly announced that the closure was on a TA list.

Trying to plan a return trip already, though just got back a couple days ago! My parents want to come next time, and they're both living on SSA. I'm looking to pay the room and let them get any park tickets they want and/or dining. I need an opinion... I really loved CL, and I'd love to be able to do that again... For those of you with experience, would it be less expensive to get an AP, then look for room only discounts for two CL rooms, or would it be less $ to book a 2BR villa instead? (which wouldn't get us CL, but we could bring our own food, I guess, though that's just not as good. LOL!) I think WL is really the only resort I'd consider for this trip... they may not be able to go again, and I'd love them to be able to experience it.

How sweet of you to treat them to their stay. All of the Deluxe rooms connect to a standard room. You should be able to book both, requesting they connect - just follow kungaloosh22's advice.

Your choice will depend on whether your discount can be applied to both a CL room and a two-bedroom villa. If I had to choose, I would prefer the two separate rooms and being on the CL floor. And, since the Deluxe rooms only have one bathroom and someone would have to sleep on a sleeper sofa which takes up the entire living room, I would choose the two CL rooms.

This saved me a ton on my club level ressie. 5/29-6/4 :cool1:
Yippee! I'll add your dates to the Lodgers' Log.

We just booked our WLV vacation for October 4-10. We loved our first trip to the lodge so much this past October that we could not wait to go back, and would not consider staying anywhere else. I know I don't post much, but I am a constant watcher of this great thread and really appreciate all the knowledge.

I'm trying to get back to normal after having house guests for two weeks. But I had a lot of fun talking about our upcoming Disney trip, since the family that stayed with us will be with us again at the WL later this month. My little five year old granddaughter had fun playing with our MagicBands. We spent some time looking at pictures of the WL, including the pool refurbishments. I really hope it is warm enough for them to enjoy the new splash pad. They are the perfect age for it. :)

I was able to get a 35% passholder discount for our WL room. I have been checking the Disney website regularly because I wanted to switch to a woods view room instead of the courtyard view that we had. After months of checking I was finally able to get woods view, and with the passholder discount, too. :woohoo:

Yeah, one of the fun things about going to Disney, is talking about it, isn't it?

I it's just some extra pixie dust, that you get as a bonus.

Kook, we will be coming home June 4-13!!! First time at WL and we are stoked! Party of 4.

Hello! :goodvibes

We're going to be at WDW from 3/27 - 4/4 this year (happy new year!). Along with super excited me, I'll have DS and DD (who will be 9 and 5 when we go) and my DH. This will be our first trip to WDW.

Up until this morning we were staying at POR, but I just changed to WL after I saw the discount! I'm thrilled, I LOVE this resort from what I've seen online, and I know DS will love it; he is obsessed with all things pacific northwest (thanks to the book Redwoods).

I love this thread, so appreciative of everyone's time in posting. I have to go get dinner started, but I will be back looking through it.

Can't wait!

Happy New Year everyone!!!!!!

Already started planning our November 2015 trip!! lol It truly is an addiction!!! We're thinking WL CL again... Not sure if we'll find another resort that will make us as happy as we were this past Nov/Dec. Hoping to have everything planned in the next couple months!

To everyone leaving this month, hope you have a great trip!!!!!

Just checking in for the first time since the holidays and saw a lot of confusion regarding the WCC closure, so I checked into it again and the TA Refurb Announcements were updated 12/22 with no mention of anything at WL now. Hopefully that means they have scrapped those plans for now, but I'm advised that can always change at any time. So, while I hesitate to get hopes up in case things do change again, I wanted to be sure and pass along the update.

On a personal note...it's now officially the year of our next WDW trip and first crack at WL CL! Happy New Year!!

Does anyone know if the entire beach is open yet or will they keep a portion of it closed with construction materials while the scaffolding is up for the next 14 months? So the estimated date for the end of repair work is approximately the beginning of 2016?

We're headed to the WL the third week of April. Anyone with experience during that time know what the rate of occupancy is like? We tend to hang around the resort during our visits more than at the parks, so the "busy-ness" of the lobby is of interest to me. I assume that the work outside will still be ongoing?

I don't think I've ever been to a Disney resort when it wasn't pretty much full.

I assume that they have people who try really hard to make it that way. :)

That said, though, usually, the lobby and places really aren't crowded, to me, during the day. I assume that the vast majority of people get up, eat breakfast, and then head to the parks. So, it's crowded during breakfast, and then settles down.

And I think April is a slower period for the parks, in general.

Hi gf friend! I will be heading to WL in just 17 days!!! Let me know any picture requests.:)

I only stayed at WL once over an easter break and even then the hot tub and pool wasn't over crowded. I also visit WL often and the lobby is never as busy as GF's.

I think kook said the scaffolding will be up all year but that's not really a big deal. We have seen worse, right?;)

We just returned home this past Sunday (12/28). The construction walls are gone. The entire beach is open. It is lovely. The scaffolding that remains isn't too obstructive.

Hey right back! Happy New Year!
Don't know of any pic requests but hope all the places you want to enjoy are open! :thumbsup2 We will not be swimming so the pool scaffolding will not bother us. I do look forward to it all being gone for cosmetic reasons tho. I think with the continuing rise in the prices of the deluxes, we will be spending more time at the WL on future visits as opposed to my fave, the GF. :(

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked and answered! I haven't had a chance to read through this entire thread. We are booked at WL (bunk bed, courtyard) easter week (April 1-10). We haven't stayed at WL since 2005 when our oldest was 2 years old...now he's 11 and he has two little brothers! Out last stay at WL was I December so we didn't use the pool area at all. Seems like the pool rehab is complete, but there's still scaffolding that will be up for a long time? Where is the scaffolding? Sounds like it's been rotating around from what I read. Thanks!

First of all Happy New Year
We are coming to the USA this year!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:
