I am interested in seeing a menu for room service. I am thinking of surprising my son on our visit with a room service breakfast - a real treat for us. If anyone is visiting soon, can you take a picture of the room service/in-room dining menu and post it on this thread? :thanks:

When is your trip? We'll be at the lodge in three weeks. Will that be too late?

I don't have a picture of the menu, but I think you'll be disappointed. We perused the room service menu and were very, very disappointed by the choices...there just isn't much available. Plus, the pricing is pretty high. The breakfast offerings at Roaring Fork are really good...are you sure you wouldn't just rather head down there and eat outside? Or even carry it back to your room? We carried stuff back to our room several times instead of doing room service because there's more to choose from and carrying out is much faster than room service.

Go to the top of this page and search back to page 1 in this thread. On post #12 you will find dining and menus for the lodge. Scroll to the very bottom for a link to 2013 private dining menu and description of changes reported in 2014.

Just popping in to say 3 weeks from today we will be at the lodge!! I don't think I'm on the lodgers list, and would love to be added. We are there 1/24-2/2.

We will be there in 3 weeks too! Could we be added to the lodgers list? Jan. 24-Feb. 2. for us. Can't wait!!

18 more days for us!!! We are doing a split stay and spending the first three nights at the Lodge.

I'm never on this thread, but you can add me to the "3-weekers" as well - we arrive 1/23 through 1/27. Just a quick mini vacation and excited to be staying CL with our AP discount. We usually stay DVC somewhere.

Haven't stayed at WL since one night at Christmas 2008 and a few days in a villa studio in 2008. Although we just had dinner at Artist Point in April 2014. We love the Lodge.

To be honest, I've never seen an impressive room service menu. It's not supposed to impress: it meets a need.

Does anyone have the recreation calender for January 2015 (ignore my ticker, we changed dates to January...not sure why it's saying one year from now. We are planning a second trip for fall 2015 though :)

Two weeks for tomorrow, we will be flying to Disney World for our Disneymoon at the Villas at WL...YEAH!
I think I might be mentally on vacation already ;)
And I finally got my first time visitor husband to admit he is just a little bit excited about going!

We just booked our WLV vacation for October 4-10. We loved our first trip to the lodge so much this past October that we could not wait to go back, and would not consider staying anywhere else. I know I don't post much, but I am a constant watcher of this great thread and really appreciate all the knowledge.
Welcome and I'll add your dates to the Lodgers' Log in POST 2.

I'm trying to get back to normal after having house guests for two weeks. But I had a lot of fun talking about our upcoming Disney trip, since the family that stayed with us will be with us again at the WL later this month. My little five year old granddaughter had fun playing with our MagicBands. We spent some time looking at pictures of the WL, including the pool refurbishments. I really hope it is warm enough for them to enjoy the new splash pad. They are the perfect age for it. :)

I was able to get a 35% passholder discount for our WL room. I have been checking the Disney website regularly because I wanted to switch to a woods view room instead of the courtyard view that we had. After months of checking I was finally able to get woods view, and with the passholder discount, too. :woohoo:
Welcome back to normal:thumbsup2

Kook, we will be coming home June 4-13!!! First time at WL and we are stoked! Party of 4.
You're going to love the Lodge:goodvibes

One month till our first stay at wl! Cannot wait!!
Even less now!

Hello! :goodvibes

We're going to be at WDW from 3/27 - 4/4 this year (happy new year!). Along with super excited me, I'll have DS and DD (who will be 9 and 5 when we go) and my DH. This will be our first trip to WDW.

Up until this morning we were staying at POR, but I just changed to WL after I saw the discount! I'm thrilled, I LOVE this resort from what I've seen online, and I know DS will love it; he is obsessed with all things pacific northwest (thanks to the book Redwoods).

I love this thread, so appreciative of everyone's time in posting. I have to go get dinner started, but I will be back looking through it.

Can't wait!
Welcome to the thread! The lobby is amazing in person and I know you'll love it. I'll add your dates to the Log and let us know if you have any questions.

Happy New Year everyone!!!!!!

Already started planning our November 2015 trip!! lol It truly is an addiction!!! We're thinking WL CL again... Not sure if we'll find another resort that will make us as happy as we were this past Nov/Dec. Hoping to have everything planned in the next couple months!

To everyone leaving this month, hope you have a great trip!!!!!
Let us know when you've booked. I have a feeling it just might be the OFC:scratchin

Just checking in for the first time since the holidays and saw a lot of confusion regarding the WCC closure, so I checked into it again and the TA Refurb Announcements were updated 12/22 with no mention of anything at WL now. Hopefully that means they have scrapped those plans for now, but I'm advised that can always change at any time. So, while I hesitate to get hopes up in case things do change again, I wanted to be sure and pass along the update.

On a personal note...it's now officially the year of our next WDW trip and first crack at WL CL! Happy New Year!!
Thank you for the update! The closure was listed on Undercover Tourist, but their list was last updated 12/16 so maybe the rehab has been delayed or cancelled? I haven't seen a permit yet posted, but I'll keep checking. For now, I think I'm going to remove the closure announcement from the NEWS section of the thread.

We're headed to the WL the third week of April. Anyone with experience during that time know what the rate of occupancy is like? We tend to hang around the resort during our visits more than at the parks, so the "busy-ness" of the lobby is of interest to me. I assume that the work outside will still be ongoing?
That's after Easter so I think you'll have much lower crowds than when Easter is later or this year when Easter falls before you're going. As Trekkie posted, at breakfast venues and bus stops in the morning are your biggest crowds and the rest of the day it's not bad at all. Pool areas do get crowded mid - late afternoon with the pool games.

I think kook said the scaffolding will be up all year but that's not really a big deal. We have seen worse, right?;)
Yep, scaffolding will be up for the next 14 months or so.

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked and answered! I haven't had a chance to read through this entire thread. We are booked at WL (bunk bed, courtyard) easter week (April 1-10). We haven't stayed at WL since 2005 when our oldest was 2 years old...now he's 11 and he has two little brothers! Out last stay at WL was I December so we didn't use the pool area at all. Seems like the pool rehab is complete, but there's still scaffolding that will be up for a long time? Where is the scaffolding? Sounds like it's been rotating around from what I read. Thanks!
No apologies needed here. Welcome back to WL! The scaffolding has nothing to do with the pool rehab. The pool and hot tubs are open and new splash pad as well as the entire beach area. The scaffolding will be around the outside of WL at various locations while painting and repairs are done.

First of all Happy New Year
We are coming to the USA this year!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We are checking in to a 1 bedroom villa at WL 8 nights :yay: on 23rd April till May 1st

I'm sooo looking forward to it :yay:
USA! USA! I hope your journey across the pond is a good one and I'll log your dates.

 Just bumping us back up to the first page!

Well, and I wanted to get another look at my ticker. ;)

Anyone have pictures of the newly renovated pool area?
Photos and links to recent photos are in POST 2.

How exciting! Congratulations to you and DH and enjoy every minute. I see a Bounceback in your future;)

Just booked a bounceback to the WL! We are staying 7/23-7/26/15 for our first stay at WL. Very excited for the trip as it is DD21st b'day when we stay at BC earlier in the week then we move to WL for DS19th b'day for the end. WL has been his choice of resorts since we resort hopped last summer. We are booked CL in a deluxe room. We'd like a view of the pool/lake. Should our request be for inner courtyard? Just a little confused about the layout and would love some help! TIA!

Welcome to the thread! What a fun trip and no worries about the Deluxe rooms, they all face the inner courtyard and/or Bay Lake, but some rooms are at the end of the wings and some are mid-wing. To include a pool view, request a mid-wing room.

We are returning to WL March 14-20. Counting the days!
Yeah! I'll add your dates to the Lodgers' Log in POST 2, too.

Does anyone know when the Christmas decorations are taken down at the WL? We're looking at booking a stay at the WL late December 2015 / early January 2016. Thanks!
