Hey guys, I have a question I was hoping you could answer. Since we are doing a split stay and going to WL second, we were wondering if when we checked in, if our room isn't ready yet, can we still go up to OFL or do we have to wait till our room is ready to use it? We wanted to see if we should make a breakfast ADR somewhere or if we could enjoy our first CL breakfast at the lodge. Thank you!!!
Definitely have breakfast at the OFC lounge:). We always arrive early on our check-in day either from a split or a short second day's drive, (I'm always excited to get there). You have access to the lounge at 7 AM when breakfast is served and the CL CMs can check you in on the 7th floor beginning at 7. They serve coffee at 6:30 and you're welcome up there, but the lounge doesn't open until 7. You also have access until midnight your check-out day, but the lounge closes at 10 PM. The beautiful seating area is always open.

Well, looks like my friend cannot go... So I am still deciding whether to do it solo or not.

I'm the type of person that when I'm at WDW and I see something cool or interesting I love to show someone.... If I do that to a stranger, I am totally going to get committed :lmao:

I'm sorry neither your friend nor your Mom can go, but, another SOLO vote here! It will be a brand new experience for you and you'll have a different perspective on WDW. I know you're reluctant, but I think you'll discover a side of WDW and yourself that you didn't expect.

Have you considered posting LIVE from your phone or iPad? Maybe you could post what you're seeing and experiencing to a LIVE TR. Or you could make notes to yourself and at the end of the day, you could post the day's experiences to your TR. I love a LIVE TR!

I've never been to WDW solo, but it's something I've dreamed about. I think it would offer a whole new experience and just imagine doing anything you want, whenever you want.

Thanks so much for writing! I wasn't sure how it worked if you didn't have a room key yet. We are SO excited now!! We really want to enjoy every minute of our first day at the lodge. We actually are considering adding on an extra night to our trip!!! :)

I am jealous! I would SO love to do a solo WDW trip! DH would probably think I'm crazy though...

I am doing a ten night solo WL trip later this month - solo trips are highly recommended! You can go where you want, when you want, eat what you want and basically just have fun without always having to compromise with someone else. You can always use social media or email to share anything monumental that happens. If you are comfortable doing things alone at home, you will enjoy a solo trip. WL has so many great spots to just relax and soak up the atmosphere too.

So I went ahead and purchased an AP tonight.... And then I started having second thoughts about going solo.

Then I decided, just do it, it will be fun! And I started to freak out.

The problem with me going solo, and being so reluctant, is because I have a panic disorder. And not having someone there to 'reassure' me frightens the heck out of me.

As of right now I haven't cancelled anything, but I may in the end... :(

I'm here now! Checked in at 8:30 and the CL staff were wonderful. We headed to Epcot immediately, but our room was ready shortly after we left. We came back to room around noon to swim. The deluxe rooms are beautiful, however the patios are very small. I was surprised about this. It is not a big deal, though, because we are so close to pool area. The dry stream is a nonissue at this point because the waterfall is behind a scrim. I was told the whole pool will be renovated in stages. We used the quiet pool mostly because the daytime music was too much for me. We thought the food in the lounge was fantastic tonight.

July 6 - 12

We will be there the 7th through the 11th. You can share with me and I won't think you're too crazy. ;-) or we could switch and you could have a trip with kids and I'll do the solo trip. ;-) lol

What were the food offerings tonight? :-)

Thanks for checking in with us. Today will be your first full day:yay:

I had heard a rumor about the renovation late this summer - fall of the WL pool. Did they say if the renovation will start after the stream is completed? I wonder if they're also going to install the fence that was rumored last year to be added to all the resort feature pools?

Nice grab. That is a very cool sign. Looks like you have some more Disney art to the left of it.
Many years ago when we were staying at CR, we saw a man painting near the elevators. When I saw his sign I asked him if they were available for sale anywhere and he kindly gave me one, which I really appreciated.

Yes, I have a bit of a WDW gallery surrounding my desktop in my office. I have Orange Bird (like my avatar) and a Mickey/Walt print, some OB and Mickey paintings by my DD and Larry Dotson prints of WL and CR. I always smile when I look over at them:goodvibes

Buffalo chili, these sweet and spicy chicken nuggets, several salads that were so good, and cheese and bread.

Wow sounds great!! Can't wait to hear what else is served! If by any chance you have time, would you be able to take pictures of the CL daily menus? I'm curios to see if anything has changed. Thank you and have a Great time!!!!! :)

I do have last years' menus in the CL section of the thread and I do plan on asking to see them on/around 6/25, just in case anything has changed:)
