I have just seen this from a link on another thread. I have not read through all the pages(!) but based on the links at the start thought I would ask if you needed any grand villa pics posting as there wasn't a link to this? I have some that I could post if you needed them.
i. I would like to see I'm staying there in april

Actually, it looks as though my "data" is holding true. Today is the 23, and it's showing availability through October 24 as the check OUT date just like I posted previously...11 months from your check OUT date (and often it allowed up to the date after that.) The PP has a check out date of October 25, so that week should be available for booking through CRO in the next day or two. :dance3: Fingers crossed! This summer it varied a little...sometimes it updated daily, and sometimes weekly, so hopefully it'll be tomorrow!

Thank you! I have a SV 1 bdr booked for October!

Just wanted to give another shout-out to SRUALMN. Her data is holding true once again. Using her system, we had a 1 bedroom SV at BLT booked for October, but decided to switch to December instead. Today is 11 months from our CHECK OUT date in December, and just as SRUAlmn advised, the BLT room inventory opened today. I'd checked two days ago and weren't able to book our dates.

So if you're looking to make a cash reservation for BLT, check 11 months from your CHECK OUT date. December is extremely popular for DVC so renting may be tough, but paying cash is still a possibility.

Aw, thanks for the shout out! Glad I could help, and YAY for your trip! It was such an obscure thing when we started looking and no one ever really had any answers, so I made it my mission to try to make some sense of it :goodvibes

I am ridiculously excited that we got a 2 bedroom at BLT for Thanksgiving week (11/23-11/28)!! :woohoo: We are renting DVC points and it had looked like there were none available so I booked the Beach Club 1 bedroom instead. Now we are one night at the BCV and then the BLT! :cool1:It's our first trip as a family of 5 and our twins first trip. Previously with just DD, DH and I we always stayed at a value (which was fine and DD LOVED since it's so over the top on decor)- now we are moving up in the resort world! When both DH and I were kids we dreamed of a stay at the contemporary and now we're as close as you can be! :yay:
Congratulations and I'll add your dates to the Log-orail. Sounds like a fabulous thanksgiving!

Does anyone know if they have cereal granola bars etc in the store at the contemporary

:welcome: to the DIS and the CR/BLT thread, acg!
In the photos I have on the first page, I don't see any at Fantasia Market, but maybe they aren't pictured or they've since added them. I also looked at my Mercantile (WL) photos and I didn't see them there either.

Two sets of Grand Villa photos are hyperlinked HERE on the first page.

silly question, but does anyone know how high up the locks are on the doors to the balcony? We have 2 year old twins and one is a climber. I would never let them go out on the balcony alone but I'm paranoid about them opening doors. I'm debating bringing my own bar lock for the door for sanity's sake.

The locks are a good way up the door. Also, it is a double locking system that is difficult to unlock for an adult (at least for me). Our kids were 5, 4, and 2 last trip and none of them could operate the door. I'm not sure of the sliding door locks since we didn't use it. Hope this helps.

I have a photo of the locking mechanism on the sliding glass door HERE.

Just a note for soon arrivals. As of last week, there is no sound from Wishes being played on the observation deck underneath the monorail (4th floor contemporary/5th floor bay lake). The area is still open for viewing, but none of the speakers are piping in the music.

How far of a walk is it from the garden view rooms to the main lobby? Does anyone have an opinion on them. We never stayed here but got a good deal.

Depends on where you are located at in the garden wing (home of the soon to be Bay Lake II ;)), but it will be less than 1/4 mile to the lobby. Add additional if you're going to the Contempo Cafe.

While I am posting pics, I thought I would share a beautiful sunrise last week over bay Lake from an 8th floor room (7817) with a Lake View.

Oh rats; we are staying on the Bay Lake side and were counting on that deck to watch (and hear) the fireworks/music. Typical. And it's probably my computer, but the pictures you posted are just red x's for me. Again, typical. ;)

We stayed in the garden wing while we were there for our Disney wedding and honeymoon. When I've posted my opinion about it before, others have often not felt the same, but for us.....we felt it was way too "hotely" feeling. It just felt like we were at a nice Hilton somewhere. Every single time we were in the hallways we passed multiple conventioneers with their suits and briefcases, and although very nice, it didn't feel like Disney to us. The following year we stayed in the tower, and with the same rooms/décor it was a totally different feeling because we were IN the action. We liked the tower MUCH better. That being said, you can't beat the location of the CR to the MK and the monorail to EPCOT, so if it's a budget thing, give it a try!

I had no idea they were going to make it into Bay Lake II!? Or are you just saying that's inevitably what will happen? :thumbsup2

I'm just saying thats what will eventually happen. Too much money to be made from that real estate.
